This paper concerns the navigation algorithm of motion reference unit (MRU) for autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) We apply the strapdown navigation system using middle level inertial sensors. But, because the MRU consists of inertial sensors, the values of AUV motion calculated by navigation computer are increased by drift property of inertial sensors. Therefore, we propose the attitude algorithm using switching method according to the motion of AUV From this algorithm, the drift terms are eliminated effectively for roll and pitch. But, another device is required for yaw angle.

In PWM inverter fed traction motor drive systems, the switching frequency is restricted and thus the electromagnetic acoustic noise is generated. To reduce such an audible noise, we propose the modified RSF(Randomized Switching Frequency)-PWM method. In the proposed RSF-PWM method, both triangular wave and sawtooth wave are used in one period as carrier waves. Because the proposed method has inherently the same property as sinusoidal PWM method, there is no problem of linearity. To verify the validity of the modified RSF-PWM method, computer simulations are carried out.
A Markov-chain Monte Carlo sampling algorithm samples a new point around the latest sample due to the Markov property, which prevents it from sampling from multi-modal distributions since the corresponding chain often fails to search entire support of the target distribution. In this paper, to overcome this problem, mode switching scheme is applied to the conventional MCMC algorithms. The algorithm separates the reducible Markov chain into several mutually exclusive classes and use mode switching scheme to increase mixing rate. Simulation results are given to illustrate the algorithm with promising results.

We investigate the properties of multivariate Shewart control charts with VSI procedure for monitoring simultaneous monitoring mean vector and covariance matrix in term of ANSW (average number of switches), probability of switch and ASI (average sampling interval), ATS (average time to signal). From examining the ANSW values, we know that it does not switch frequently. The VSI control charts are superior to the corresponding FSI control charts in terms of ATS. And, it can be also seen that the VSI procedures have substantially fewer switches for small or moderate shifts of the mean vector and variances.
A well-known problem in adaptive control is the poor transient response which is observed when adaptation is initiated. This paper proposes a useful method to improve the transient response of adaptive control systems by using multiple models of the plant and switching mechanism by fuzzy inference. The models are identical except for initial estimates of the unknown plant parameteres. The control input to be applied is determined at every instant by the model which best approximates the plant. Simulation results are presented to indicate the performance improvement of adaptive control systems using the proposed method.
A ZVZCS(Zero-Voltage and Zero-Current-Switching) Three-Level DC/DC Convertor reducing voltage stress of auxiliary circuit is proposed. The principle of operation, feature and design considerations are illustrated and verified through the experiment with a 2kW 40kHz IGBT based experimental circuit.
This paper presents an improved ZCT (Zero-Current-Transition) PWM DC/DC Boost Converter without additional current stress and conduction loss on the main switch during the resonance period of the auxiliary cell. The auxiliary cell consists of a resonance inductor, a resonant capacitor, an auxiliary switch and the Zero-Current-Switching ranges of the main and the auxiliary switch of the proposed converters are entirely achieved by operating the auxiliary cell. Then Improved ZCT soft switching converter will be discussed. Therefore, the proposed converter has a high efficiency. To show the superiority of this converter is verified through the experiment with a 640W, 50kHz prototype converter.
To analyze the saturating process of $Cr^{4+}:YAG$ crystal and plastic organic dye as the saturable absorber, we have measured the residual optical losses between a free running and a passive Q-switching mode for various optical densities. The undepleted ground state population density and the saturated transmission of the saturable absorber have been evaluated by the additional optical losses with the increased threshold pump energies between two resonators. ill the passive Q-switching mode, the saturable transmission of saturable absorber is less than the maxrnium saturable transmission due to the undepleted ground state population density. nsity.
The voltage holding ratio (VHR) and Residual DC property in the in-plane switching (IPS) cell was studied Several IPS cells which have different concentrations of cynao liquid crystals (LCs) and different resistivities of fluorine LCs were fabricated VHR and residual DC voltage in the IPS cells using the capacitance-voltage (C-V) hysteresis method was measured. We found that the VHR of the IPS cell was decreasing with increasing concentration of cyano LC. The residual DC voltage of the IPS cell was decreasing with increasing concentration of cyano LCs. We suggest that the high polarity of cyano LC helps reducing the residual DC voltage.
Recently, study on the weak interaction energy between the soft polymer surface and liquid crystals has been a primary topic for new LC device applications. In this paper, to understand the switching property of nematic liquid crystals (LCs) at the interface with a weak anchoring boundary, we investigate experimentally the rotation property of surface nematic director by electric field on non-treated Poly-Methylmethacrylate (PMMA, $T_g=110^{\circ}C$, Sigma Aldrich) film observed under various temperatures including the glass transition temperature ($T_g$) of the polymer layer.
