  • Nuclear energy remains one of the world's major energy sources, making up over 10% of global electricity generation in 2017. Public acceptance of nuclear energy is essential for its adoption. From a practical perspective, it is beneficial to have a simple indicator that can predict the actual adoption of nuclear energy. Based on practical experience, the authors suggest tolerance and self-sufficiency as potential indicators that may predict the adoption of nuclear energy. By evaluating the cross-sectional data of 18 countries in 2013, this research assesses the actual impact of tolerance and self-sufficiency on public acceptance in order to identify the validity of the two variables. The results indicate that the two variables are statistically significant, while public acceptance is insignificant in explaining national adoption of nuclear energy. This may be because tolerance reflects national willingness to accept potential risk, while self-sufficiency explains a government's likelihood of developing non-carbon energy sources.

  • The comparison of statistical experiments with a common parameter and parameter space is discussed using the concept of the Blackwell's sufficiency and the Shannon's entropy. Binomial and censored experiments are considered as applications. The loss of information is studied under teh aggregated experiments and truncated experiments, and summerized in some tables which make it possible to indicate the choice of an appropriate experiment.

  • This study aimed at identifying level of self-sufficiency, and support need for it in rural multicultural families. Frist, the level of self-sufficiency in rural multicultural families was the lowest in a information sub-area, whereas it was the highest in a socio-psychological relation sub-area. Second, the chi-square test showed that the level of assistant request for a cost-of-living allowance was high in the multicultural family group received the medical social security(MSS) or not prepared the expenditure for children education or the golden years. Whereas the level of assistant request for the education of marketing or agricultural technology was high in the multicultural family group not received MSS or prepared the expenditure for children education or the golden years. Third, rate of PC ownership in the rural multicultural families was lower than that of national whole. and difference of it according to the living characteristics uch as MSS was not statistically significant. Fourth, difference in level of assistant request for children education and social dimension according to the living characteristics such as MSS was not statistically significant. It means that assistant request for children education and social dimension have universality without distinction the living characteristics such as MSS. And to conclude, support for self-sufficiency in rural multicultural families should be selective approach with discriminative or integrational viewpoint according to the living characteristics such as MSS or area of self-sufficiency. Findings of this study may be used as a basic material to establish the policy supporting self-sufficiency in rural multicultural families.

  • Preproject phase is an important but often ignored research area in information systems field although it has an undeniable importance for successful project. The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting project performance in preproject phase and to find empirically critical factors among them. After deriving 9 factors through literature review including clear project definition, project leader position, staffing efforts, preproject team expertise, preproject knowledge scope, preproject partnering, top-management support, resource sufficiency, and project climate, the study investigate the influence of those factors on project performance. The study results reveal that clear project definition, project climate, resource sufficiency, pre-project knowledge scope, project leader position have significant impact on project process satisfaction, a measure of project performance, but the other factors do not. Based on the empirical results, the study discuss academic and practical implications.

  • opportunistic spectrum access (OSA) allows unlicensed users to share licensed spectrum in space and time with no or little interference to primary users, with bring new research challenges in MAC design. We propose a cognitive MAC protocol using statistical channel information and selecting appropriate idle channel for transmission. The protocol based on the CSMA/CA, exploits statistics of spectrum usage for decision making on channel access. Idle channel availability, spectrum hole sufficiency and available channel condition will be included in algorithm statistical information. The model include the control channel and data channel, the transmitter negotiates with receiver on transmission parameters through control channel, statistical decision results (successful rate of transmission) from exchanged transmission parameters of control channel should pass the threshold and decide the data transmission with spectrum hole on data channel. A dynamical sensing range as a important parameter introduced to maintain the our protocol performance. The proposed protocol's simulation will show that proposed protocol does improve the throughput performance via traditional opportunistic spectrum access MAC protocol.

  • In this paper, we consider a characterization of a Guard Sufficiency Set(GSS) in the hierarchy of simple polygons. we propose the diagonals of a arbitrary triangulation of a polygon as a GSS when guards see the diagonals with completely visibility and both sides of the diagonal. we show that this can be a GSS in convex polygons, unimodal polygons, spiral polygons but this can not be a GSS in star-shaped polygons, monotone polygons, completely external visible polygons.

  • This study was conducted to develop menugen program: Korean recommended menu planning and search based on internet to promote self sufficiency of food in Korea. This program manipulate menu and search 432 Korean recommended menus which have been developed in combination of population characteristics of 9 age level, 3 residential areas, 3 income groups, four seasons and male or female. Clients can select the high self sufficiency recommended menu by inputting their age, residental area, income, season and sex in using Menugen program. MenuGen can analyze nutrients and compare with Korean Recommended Allowance about clients' menu based on their age and sex. It can access the food, dish and menu databases. And also client can use MenuGen program for menu planning and analysis nutrients. Client's menu data can be store, delete, modify and print through MenuGen too. It will be able to read the nutrition analysis data of the foods, the dishes and the menu. Therefore it provides convenient user interface to not only users but also dietitians and nutritionists, who take charge of making a menu, and experts in the field of food and nutrition. MenuGen will help the nutrition policy accomplishment and the food self-supply rate improvement of the nation with use of menu drawing up program of internet base.

  • In the paper, we discuss dimension reduction of predictors ${\mathbf{X}}{\in}{{\mathbb{R}}^p}$ in a regression of $Y{\mid}{\mathbf{X}}$ with a notion of sufficiency that is called sufficient dimension reduction. In sufficient dimension reduction, the original predictors ${\mathbf{X}}$ are replaced by its lower-dimensional linear projection without loss of information on selected aspects of the conditional distribution. Depending on the aspects, the central subspace, the central mean subspace and the central $k^{th}$-moment subspace are defined and investigated as primary interests. Then the relationships among the three subspaces and the changes in the three subspaces for non-singular transformation of ${\mathbf{X}}$ are studied. We discuss the two conditions to guarantee the existence of the three subspaces that constrain the marginal distribution of ${\mathbf{X}}$ and the conditional distribution of $Y{\mid}{\mathbf{X}}$. A general approach to estimate them is also introduced along with an explanation for conditions commonly assumed in most sufficient dimension reduction methodologies.

  • This paper suggests an instruction code sufficiency algorithm preventing data collision when multiple transponders attempt to connect in the radio frequency identification system. Conventional time domain procedure generates unconditional collision. On the other hand, this algorithm prevents data collision by transmitting data when it meets instruction code. When multiple transponders are transmitting data coincidently, they exploit desired data with using difference of arrival time generated by recognition distance, respectively. As a result of simulation, utilizing the wireless recognition system, adopting the suggested algorithm, operating in 13.56MHz frequency band, it verify that there is Anti-collision and data loss by ensuring transmission time difference of one bit by adopting this algorithm.
