As the gaps become narrower in interconnection fee and volume rate, the MNOs began to introduce flat pricing for unlimited voice traffic competitively in Korea wireless telecommunication market : 'unlimited talks within intra-network' by the 1st operator, followed by the 3rd operator's 'unlimited talks over all networks'. As a result, subscribers tip in toward the third ranked operator and could bring a substantial change to steadfast market structure over the last decade in Korea. This paper aims to develop a simple economic model to analyze competition with flat pricing for unlimited voice traffic, and to check whether the pricing can be appropriate for the MNOs. The results show that MNOs already step in the necessary conditions to launch flat pricing for voice traffic. It also predicts that the MNOs compete with unlimited talk over all networks and set a single fee in an equilibrium. At present, the MNOs run virtually identical pricing for unlimited talk over all networks, considering their differentiation with respect to service quality, coverage and brand preference.

우리나라 주도의 와이브로 기술은 가장 먼저 4G 고지에 도달한 무선 인터넷 기술로, 유망한 차세대 이동통신 기술 중 가장 유력한 주자 중 하나이다. 모바일 와이맥스로 국제 표준화 되었으며 우리나라를 비롯해 해외 많은 나라에서 구축되고 있다. 와이브로 망에서 긴급 서비스 지원은 대국민 기반 서비스일 뿐 아니라, 번호 이동을 통해 다른 통신망의 음성 가입자를 유인하는데 전제가 되는 긴요한 서비스가 될 것이다. 본 논문은 모바일 VoIP 서비스를 제공하는 와이브로 망에서 긴급 서비스 지원을 위한 네트워크 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 구조는 국제 호환성을 위해 WiMAX Forum (WMF)에서 표준화한 구조를 기반으로 하되, PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point)과의 인터페이스는 우리나라 긴급 교환망 구조 및 현 긴급 서비스 시스템과 무리 없이 연동되도록 고안되었다.

VoD 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 대용량의 저장매체와 전송대역이 필요하며 이를 위해서는 막대한 네트워크 구축비용이 필요하다. 이러한 VoD 서비스 구축비용을 줄이기 위한 방법으로 분산 서버 시스템, 멸티캐스트, 프로그램 caching,, 스트림 sharing 등에 관한 연구가 현재 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 VoD 스트림을 멀티캐스트로 서버스하기 위한 결정기준과 대역폭 감소비율을 도출하였으며, 멀티 캐스트를 이용한 VoD 서비스 시 감소하는 선로 대역폭, 서버의 내부 대역폭과 증가하는 버퍼 용량과의 관계를 분석하여 멀티캐스트의 적용 타당성과 망 구축비용의 감소폭을 비교하였다. 따라서, 본 연구결과는 멀티캐스트를 이용한 VoD 서비스 제공에 적합한 경제적인 선로 설계와 노드 설계에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

Korea launched the world's first commercial 5G services in April 2019. Mobile traffic is expected to increase further with the acceleration of mobile-centric data utilization. It is one of the most important indexes of the growth of the mobile communications market, and it has a close relationship with frequency demand and supply, network management, and information communication policy. To overcome the limitations of an analytical solution due to the high complexity of the real world, this paper estimates the diffusion of 5G users using systemic thinking and the behavior of individual agents. Based on these demand forecasts, contributions to the establishment of strategic policies are suggested. For better understanding, global 5G predictions of subscribers and mobile traffic are also compared.

일반 가정에 인터넷 서비스를 제공하는 가입자 망은 다양한 종류의 접속방식과 이기종의 장비를 이용하여 일반 가정 가입자에게 단일 형태의 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 그리고 가입자 망의 접속방식에는 망의 종류에 따라서 ADSL, VDSL, DOCSIS 등 다양한 형태가 있다. 이러한 여러 가지 형태를 가지며 분산되어 있는 가입자 망을 효율적이며 집중화된 형태로 관리하기 위해서는 다양한 형태의 접속방식을 지원하는 이기종 장비 및 단말들의 상위 개념으로서 추상적이며 논리적인 객체 관리모델이 필요하다. 본 논문은 통합된 가입자망관리를 가능하게 하는 인터넷 가입자 망에 대한 계층적 모델링 구조를 제시하였다. 그리고 UML 에 근거한 객체지향 방법론을 이용하여 가입자망의 예로서 DOCSIS 의 케이블데이터 가입자망과 VDSL 가입자망에 대하여 관리모델을 적용하였다.

The mobile telecommunication sector is increasingly gathering way becoming a key area for the economic development in Uzbekistan. One way to promote competition among providers is the introduction of a number portability service. This paper estimates subscriber's willingness to pay (WTP) for the MNP service in the mobile communication market in Uzbekistan. Consumer valuation was estimated using a conjoint analysis. Since number portability had not been introduced at the time of the study, stated preference data from the conjoint survey was used. Results indicate that currently subscribers do not attach a lot of importance to the MNP service, while price and service quality are most valuable components. The results of this study provide important implication for mobile network operators and policy developers on potential MNP implementation.

In Public Switched Telephone Networks(PSTN) number portability is implemented by utilizing Intelligent Network(IN) functions for number mapping. And voice over IP(VoIP) and IP Multimedia Subsystem(IMS) networks can deploy number portability by using E.164 Number Mapping(ENUM). This paper discuss the possibility of using E.164 Number Mapping(ENUM) for number portability in voice over IP/IP Multimedia Subsystem and Public Switched Telephone Networks, eliminating the need for Number Portability Database(NPDB) for number portability routing data in Public Switched Telephone Networks.

The main idea behind the Intelligent Networks (IN) concept is the separation of switching function from the service control, in order to meet various service requirements of subscribers and development of new services in time. The (N+l) architecture of the IN service system consists of front-end processors (FEP) and back-end processors (BEP), which is in service in a domestic telecommunication company, and balances the traffic load for services among the processors. Under this architecture, the IN service system can distribute the traffic load dynamically, and M services are easily launched and manipulated minimizing impacts on the existing services. This paper traces the performance of the (N＋1) structured system by means of the simulation approach, and shed a light on the result.

The call-attempt behavior in a telecommunications service is influenced by the launch of new services and the choice of subscribers. On Feb 28, 2005, there was a disastrous shut-down of major local electronic switching systems (ESS) due to an abrupt increase of call-attempts. This incident turned out to be a strong proof that appropriate forecasting attempts are necessary not only for the capacity planning of network but also for the quality control of ESS. In this paper, forecasting models are first developed to estimate the daily ESS call-attempts and user retrial rates and then meaningful interpretations of results will follow. Finally future research topics will be presented.
