The College of engineering's capstone design is student-team-centred learning based on project-based learning and is one of the most important courses for students aiming to be competent professional engineers capable of solving real industrial problems. Therefore, in order to resolve the capstone problems, various face-to-face contacts such as frequent industrial site visits, multiple meetings with diverse people including team members, and repeated contacts with course-supervising and team-advising professors are prerequisite processes. However, according to the transition to fully online education due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, capstone design courses for 2020 and 2021 were also conducted online. Based on the modified students' evaluations of educational quality (SEEQ) with 3 perspectives such as curriculum, teaching-staff and students themselves, this study compares their evaluations of offline capstone designs from 2013 to 2019 and online capstone designs in 2020 and 2021 in the context of COVID-19. In 3 perspectives, the difference in students' evaluation of the online capstone between the beginning and the end of the course shows a positive effect, which is better than the offline capstone. Also, in various dimensions for each perspective, the online capstone shows a better evaluation than the offline capstone. These findings suggest that the online capstone design curriculum can be expected to have educational effects as well as students' satisfaction with the online curriculum in the future.
The paradox of cubesat development process in the New Space paradigm is related to a complicated and time-consuming system engineering procedure. Due to their low cost and quick production time, cubesats are a highly accessible space asset in the startup-driven "New Space" industry. In reality, however, the development process experienced by the student teams selected through the national cubesat competition is quite different from what we expect. This is because cubesats are designed and implemented using a lengthy and tedious procedure defined by the systems engineering perspective. The purpose of this work is to explain to developers who are unfamiliar with systems engineering the role and function of systems engineering in each step of the cubesat development process.
The purpose of this research is to apprehend what the power of professional learning community (PLC) to make home economics teachers participate is and how PLC activity contributes to reflective practice and change of participating home economics teachers by experiencing reflective practices. For this, self-reflective action research of Kemmis and McTaggart was conducted. Six home economics teachers participated voluntarily and totally 18 PLC sessions from May 31, 2013 to May 19, 2014 were held. Two themes of 'looking in classes' as a main practice theme and 'designing classes together' as a supporting theme were carried. Findings and conclusions of this study are as following. First, participants of PLC to get data and information on teaching and to solve problems with fellow teachers for better classes at first. However, they have become to comfort and sympathize each other about difficulties in school as home economics teachers. Second, through the PLC activity, they found they had uncomfortable belief about teaching and tried to practice solutions by critical and reflective thinking. Third, they put efforts in finding alternative framework of looking inside their classes for the fundamental improvement in teaching. For this, they formulated questionnaire to describe their own reflective practice through the alternative framework from a critical perspective in teaching, a view of student's learning, and a teacher's inner view for improvement of practice. Fourth, PLC activity for a year allowed them to combine theory and reality though reflective process by designing classes together and reflectively practicing them in classes.
This study aims to deeply understand and analyze the meaning of the various conflict experiences experienced by middle school physical education teachers in the physical education field through a phenomenological method and to explore the essence of it from an educational perspective. Regarding the research method, the research participants were four current middle school physical education teachers, and this study was conducted using Colaizzi's phenomenological research method, one of the qualitative research methodologies. The research results are as follows. First, general conflicts were categorized into student guidance and human relationships as conflicts between teachers and students. Second, job conflicts were categorized into teacher culture and communication as conflicts between teachers and teachers. Third, relationship conflicts were categorized into role expectations and power exercise as conflicts between teachers and parents. In conclusion, by analyzing in-depth the aspects of conflict experienced by middle school physical education teachers, it is necessary to effectively resolve various conflicts and, in particular, create a more positive educational environment by minimizing conflicts in the educational field.
This study is aimed at exploring the educational meaning of cooperative hands-on activity in the technology subject from the perspective of a student who is an education consumer. For this purpose, this study selected 12 first year student of a middle school located at G City of Gyeonggi-do Province as research participants through purposeful sampling, and conducted an in-depth interview and group discussion based on stimulated recall questionary techniques. This study utilized area analysis, classification analysis and component analysis as a data analysis method, and secured the verity of the research through the examination between research participants and triangulation. As a result of this research work, it was found that the cooperative hands-on class in the technology subject had the meaning of 'Space between a burden and excitement about the technical making', 'Clue and ignition point of technological problem solving', and 'Self-discovery through Technical capability'. To be more concrete, 'Space between a burden and excitement about the technical making' means that students, whose usual school record is excellent, felt great psychological burdens of performance assessment, but their pre-experience and interest in 'Making' induced them to feel exhilaration of hands-on activity. 'Clue and ignition point of technological problem solving' means that students get to make much of the understanding & formation of the relationship with teammates in the process of resolving an unfamiliar hands-on activity task and to have the continuous problem-solving ability. 'Self-discovery through Technical capability' means that students get to realize the importance of learning experience of one's own making through hands-on activity learning, which could be the opportunity to meet the operant demands of the inner side. This study hopes that such results could be utilized as the basic data needed for designing the hands-on activity education in the technology subject more meaningfully and systematically for the time to come.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the argumentation of gifted students in the perspective of rebuttal. Rebuttal is a significant indicator of argumentation quality; it is also an essential component for science learning through interaction. However, most previous research point out insufficient use of rebuttal in student's argumentation. The argumentation of 37 8th grade students, enrolled in institutes for the scientifically gifted in Seoul, are observed and recorded for 4 hours. The argumentation topic is about how to measure the brightness of the sun. Based on Verheij's (2005) five types of rebuttal patterns, the features of rebuttal are analyzed. It is found that students' argumentation include all of the five rebuttal types: rebuttal of the data, the claim, the warrant, warrant's applicability, and connection between data and claim. It is also found that these five types can be categorized in two groups. The first group consists of first three types and is characterized by the disagreement with the validity of what has been said. The second group consists of the last two types and is characterized by the suggestion or additional information for missing links in argumentation.

Students receiving plan is not based on short-term indicators, such as student-centered, student-induced factor to address school needs new complaint, it is necessary to establish the school in the center of a long-term (30 years) perspective. Therefore, analysis of Cheongju students can examine the entire 30 years of the elementary school in this study are as follows: First, given the increasing number of students in seven models and presented the case to its types. Second, considering the geographical characteristics and the development of regional characteristics classify 55 elementary Schools in Cheongju City by dividing the number of students increase or decrease trend to 10 zones the results are as follows: Students Number increasing school group of 4 schools, 15 schools students Number fell in shot Term, the Students Number dropped in middle Term 26 schools, 10 was a small school. In particular, it is urgently necessary to establish measures for these small schools. Third, despite the reduced number of students indicated in the analysis result, caused the social conflict factors by excessive new school requirements. It also caused a number of students from schools when the Curve of Students Number are to remain flat or decline. It shows that no additional new demand of School in the region. Fourth, the number of students increasing trend forecasting model

The purposes of this study is to verify additional demand of students for secondary vocational education, and draw political implications. To meet the purposes, firstly we analyzed current policies on the secondary vocational education. Second, we divided additional demand of students for secondary vocational education into practical and potential demand. Practical demand by students who would like to take further vocational education in secondary education system includes students who hoped to enter vocational high school however they failed to go, the first or second year students who transferred from general high school to vocational high school, and the third year students who are in general high school would like to take commissioned vocational courses. Potential demand is an additional demand for secondary vocational education in a society perspective. This includes a student who downgraded employment even though they entered college or university after graduated general high-school. Comparing the result of this study with the entrance quota of vocational high-school, additional demand of students for secondary vocational education showed that accounted for 61.2 percent of the entrance quota year 2015. Specifically, potential demand accounts for 31.7 percent of the entrance quota for vocational high school and practical demand accounts for 29.5 percent.
The purpose of this research is to analyze characteristics of the method of education or learning reflected in the teacher-student relationship in On Haeng Lok By Toe-gye and explore their relevance to modern education. By writing various works and conversing with his students, Toe-gye devoted himself in the education of the traditional Confucian principles. Specially, he taught his students based on two Confucian educative principles, namely Shim Deuk(心得) and Goong Haeng(躬行). Judging from this, Toe-gye can be seen as someone who tries to fulfill the role of teacher as dictated in the educative principles of the Confucianism. In Confucianism, teacher is responsible for forming a well-rounded view on life in student, rather than simply transmitting knowledge. As such, the teacher was supposed to find a harmonious way to create something new based on what was inherited from the past generation and try to do his best in learning new things himself and teaching his students. These Toe-gye managed to do successfully, earning his students' trust and respect. Being moved and inspired by their teacher, the students continued their intellectual pursuit. This relationship between Toe-gye and his students can be analyzed from the perspective of education method and discussed in terms of cognitive learning and adult learning. In terms of cognitive learning, the education method reflected in the relationship is similar to potential learning, insight learning, and imitation learning. In terms of adult learning, it is similar to self-directed learning and communicative learning.!

The purpose of this study is to investigate Home Economics(HE) teachers' perception of Home Economics curriculum perspective and their instructional culture, and to find out correlations between them. 210 questionnaires were used for analysis. The results are as follows. First, our research showed that the preferences of HE teachers with respect to curriculum perspectives were in the order of the interpretive, emancipatory, and technical perspectives. However, there was no consistency among findings in the preferences for the sub-elements of a curriculum. Second, our results indicated that HE teachers performed their role affirmatively in terms of instructional culture such as the 'cooperation between teachers', the 'class focused on student', and the 'learning materials preparation'. Third, there was a statistically significant difference in five elements such as the 'cooperation among teachers' between the HE teachers' curriculum perspectives and their instructional culture. Fourth, there was a statistically significant difference in the 4 factors of 'instructional culture' between the teacher group whose curriculum preference was clear and those group whose curriculum preferences was vague.
