The purpose of this study is to prove the relationship of major variables derived based on prior research on factors affecting the start-up performance of youth mall young merchants in traditional markets, and to empirically analyze the relationship between major factors based on the results. The factors affecting the start-up performance of the youth mall in traditional markets were divided into government support programs and entrepreneurship, and the cooperation between the start-up preparation and merchants was established as variables that mediated the influence between the start-up performance and entrepreneurship performance. The analysis showed that entrepreneurship had a statistically significant positive effect on start-up readiness, while government-supported programs, entrepreneurship and start-up readiness had a significant positive effect on start-up performance. In addition, as a result of verifying the mediated effects of the research model, it was verified that the indirect effects of entrepreneurship on the performance of start-up by mediating the preparation of start-ups were significant. Through this study, the government support program should be supported in consideration of the characteristics of young merchants, not of the current consistent support, and means that youth merchants should be thoroughly verified in the recruitment, selection, and promotion stages, and young merchants with high entrepreneurship and start-up readiness should be selected.

In this study, we examined the accuracy of the assessment items for selecting start-ups used in the project to support start-ups and verified their validity in determining whether they are appropriate assessment items based on selection criteria. The results of 973 start-ups that applied for the project fostering startup leading universities were collected and logistic regression was performed using SPSS 18.0. The study results are summarized as follows. First, the differences in characteristics of start-ups were identified in terms of selection. Second, the impact of selection by assessment items was gender in 2015, capability of the founder, business establishment in 2016, performance and potential in the global market, and business startup in 2017. Third, the overall selection accuracy analysis for the last three years confirmed that the accuracy of the selection is lower each year and that the accuracy of the selection is lower than the accuracy of the non-selection. This means that the current assessment items for selecting start-ups are inaccurate for selection, and that changes in the items due to changes in the start-up environment each year have led to lower accuracy of selection. It is meaningful that this study raised the importance of assessment items and the need for improvement of assessment items for the screening functions of good start-ups to enhance efficiency of the policies for startup support.

A new active LED driver with high power factor (PF) and low total harmonic distortion (THD) compatible with a rapid-start ballast is proposed. An LC input filter is attached to the ballast to increase PF and reduce THD. A boost converter is then installed to regulate the LED current, where an unstable operating region has been newly identified. The unstable region is successfully stabilized by feedback control with two zeroes. The extremely high overall system of the 10th order is completely analyzed by the newly introduced phasor transformed circuits in static and dynamic analyses. Although a small DC capacitor is utilized, the flicker percentage of the LED is drastically mitigated to 1% by the fast controller. The proposed LED driver that employs a simple controller with a start-up circuit is verified by extensive experiments whose results are in good agreement with the design.

The paper proposes a zero speed start-up scheme of direct rector controlled induction motor drive without any torque jerk. At standstill condition, a method is derived to calculate a stator flux with only stator current. The programmable 3-stage low pass filters with programmable time constants is used in order to solute the problem of integration for stator flux estimation in the direct vector control mode. Due to the time delay of 3-stage low pass filter, the status flux decreases rapidly and also the torque jerk occurs during the transition from standstill mode to the direct rector control mode. A feedforward control strategy of the stator flux is suggested to prevent the torque jerk at start-up. Through results of simulation and experiment with 32 bit DSP, the performance of the start-up scheme is verified.

This study presents O/D based emission estimation model and methodology under cold- and hot-start conditions. Contrasting with existing link-based model, new model is able to estimate cold-start emissions with actual traffic characteristics. The results of the case study with new model show similar amount of emission with existing model under hot-start conditions, but five times much more than existing model under cold-start conditions. The annual social benefit estimated by this model is 56.2 hundred million won, which is 48% higher than the result from existing model. It means current green transportation policies are undervalued in terms of air quality improvement. Therefore, New model is expected to improve the objectivity of air quality evaluation results regarding green transportation policies and be applied in various transportation-environment policies.

This paper presents a high-efficiency CMOS PWM DC-DC buck converter. It generates a constant output voltage(1-2.8V), from an input voltage(3.4-3.9V). Inductor-based type is chosen and inductor current is controlled with PWM operation. The designed circuit consists of power switch, Pulse Width Generation, Buffer, Zero Current Sensing, Current Sensing Circuit, Clock & Ramp generation, V-I Converter, Soft Start, Compensator and Modulator. Switching Frequency is 1MHz, It operates in CCM when the load current is more than 40mA, and the maximum efficiency is 98.71% at 100mA. Output voltage ripple is 0.98mV(input voltage:3.5V, output voltage:2.5V). The performance of the designed circuit has been verified through extensive simulation using a CMOS $0.18{\mu}m$ technology.

Various kinds of accessories(e.g., clock, radio, automatic door locks, alarm devices, etc.) or unit components (e.g., black box, navigation system, alarm, private audio, etc.) require dark current even when the vehicle power is turned off. However, accessories or unit components can be the causes of excessive dark current generation. It results in battery discharge and the vehicle's failure to start. Therefore, immediate detection of abnormal dark current and response are very important for a successful repair job. In this paper, we can increase the maintenance efficiency by presenting a standardized diagnostic process for the measurement of the dark current and the existing problem. As a result of the absence of a system to block the dark current in a vehicle, diagnosis and repair were performed immediately by using a standardized dark current diagnostic process.

This paper proposes a current differential relay for transformer protection that operates in accordance with a blocking method based on the difference-function of a differential current. For magnetic inrush and over-excitation, discontinuities in the first-difference function of the differential current arise at the points of inflection, which correspond to the start and end of each saturation period of the core. These discontinuities are converted into the pulses in the second- and third-difference functions of the differential current. The magnitudes of the pulses are large enough to detect saturation of the core. A blocking signal is issued if the magnitude of the third-difference function exceeds the threshold and is maintained for three quarters of a cycle. The performance of the relay is assessed under various conditions with magnetic inrush, internal faults and external faults. The proposed blocking method can improve significantly the operating time of a relay and achieve high sensitivity of a relay.
Collecting international terrorism database is a challenging task not only for criminal justice personnel but also for criminologists in comparison to the case of common types of crime database. Yet, there has been growing interests and efforts in establishing a comprehensive terrorist events data base in the world. This current study has a goal to introduce an example world terrorism database case developed by START center in the United States. The START center developed the Global Terrorism Database (GTD) on the basis of by the Pinkerton Global Intelligence Service data (PGIS) originally collected by the Pinkerton. Furthermore, The START expended the GTD by collecting data from open source terrorist event data via internet and other resources. In this study, specifically, it describes the development and the nature of the GTD in general and the data collection efforts made by the STATA until today. Finally, this study provides a sketchy of the nature of the GTD data by showing the descriptive statistical analyses and time-series analyses result illustrating distribution of the world terrorism events. The limitation, policy implications and contribution of this study discussed in this paper.

The purpose of this study is to explore a collaborative start-up space(Co-Space) configuration plan in terms of university-regional linkage through demand analysis on the composition of university-regional linkage startup space. To this end, a survey was conducted for request analysis, and the collected data were analyzed through the t-test, The Lotus for Focus model. In addition, FGI was implemented for entrepreneurs, and the direction of the composition of the university-region Co-Space was derived from various aspects. The results of this study are as follows. First, as a result of the analysis of the necessity of university-community Co-Space, the necessity of opening up the start-up space recognized by local residents and the necessity of building the start-up space in the region were high. In addition, men recognized the need to build a space for start-ups in the community more highly than women did women. Second, as a result of analysis of demands for university-regional Co-Space, the difference between current importance and future necessity of university-regional Co-Space was statistically significant. Third, as a result of analysis on the composition of the startup space by cooperation between universities and regions, different demands were made for composition of the startup space considering openness and closeness, and for composition of the startup space size. The implications of the study are as follows. First, Co-Spaces need to be constructed in conjunction with universities in accordance with the demands of start-up companies in the region by stage of development. Second, it is necessary to organize a customized Co-Space that takes into account the size and operation of the start-up space. Third, it is necessary to establish an experience-based open space for local residents in the remaining space of the university. Fourth, it is necessary to establish a Co-Space that enables an organic network between local communities, start-up investment companies, start-up support institutions, and start-up companies. This study is significant in that it proposed the regional startup ecosystem and the cooperative start-up space structure for strengthening start-up sustainability through cooperation between universities and local communities. The results of this study are expected to be used as useful basic data for Co-Space construction to build a regional start-up ecosystem in a trend emphasizing the importance of start-up space, which is a major factor affecting start-up companies.
