Plasma models are crucial to equipment design and process optimization. A radial basis function network(RBFN) in con-junction with statistical experimental design has been used to model a process plasma. A 2$^4$ full factorial experiment was employed to characterized a hemispherical inductively coupled plasma(HICP) in characterizing HICP, the factors that were varied in the design include source power, pressure, position of shuck holder, and Cl$_2$ flow rate. Using a Langmuir probe, plasma attributes were collected, which include typical electron density, electron temperature. and plasma potential as well as their spatial uniformity. Root mean-squared prediction errors of RBEN are 0.409(10(sup)12/㎤), 0.277(eV), and 0.699(V), for electron density, electron temperature, and Plasma potential, respectively. For spatial uniformity data, they are 2.623(10(sup)12/㎤), 5.704(eV) and 3.481(V), for electron density, electron temperature, and plasma potential, respectively. Comparisons with generalized regression neural network(GRNN) revealed an improved prediction accuracy of RBFN as well as a comparable performance between GRNN and statistical response surface model. Both RBEN and GRNN, however, experienced difficulties in generalizing training data with smaller standard deviation.

An estimation method for the amplitude and phase response of transmission line is discussed. and applied to narrow band ISDN subscriber line. The ABCD parameters of line are evaluated from four impedance values: the standard termination impedence at activated and deactivated stares, and the input impedances of line which can be estimated at each state. Estimating input impedence, the “chirp” signal is used as incident signal and noise effect can be reduced by ensemble averaging. These ABCD parameter estimations might be applicable to ether uniform or nonuniform line. Cleary the magnitude and phase response can be obtained from estimated ABCD parameters. The numerical simulation results for N ISDN subscriber line model are included, and the estimation error introduced by deviation in load impedence is also anlyzed.

This paper concerns on one-DOF non-rotating active magnetic bearing (AMB) system subject to base motion. In such a system, it is desirable to retain the axis within the predetermined air-gap while the base motion forces the axis to deviate from the desired air-gap. Motivated from this, an optimal acceleration feedforward control is proposed to reduce the base motion response without deteriorating other feedback control performances. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed optimal feedforward control reduces the standard deviation of the air-gap to 29% that by feedback control alone.
This study is to develope a phantom for MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductors Field Effect Transistors) dosimetry and compare the dosimetric properties of standard MOSFET and microMOSFET with the phantom. In this study, the developed phantom have two shape: one is the shape of semi-sphere with 10cm diameters and the other one is the flat slab of $30{\times}30cm$with 1 cm thickness. The slab phantom was used for calibration and characterization measurements of reproducibility, linearity and dose rate dependency. The semi-sphere phantom was used for angular and directional dependence on the types of MOSFETs. The measurements were conducted under $10{\times}10cm^2$ fields at 100cm SSD with 6MV photon of Clinac (21EX, Varian, USA). For calibration and reproducibility, five standard MOSFETS and microMOSFETs were repeatedly Irradiated by 200cGy five times. The average calibration factor was a range of $1.09{\pm}0.01{\sim}1.12{\pm}0.02mV/cGy$ for standard MOSFETS and $2.81{\pm}0.03{\sim}2.85{\pm}0.04 mV/cGy$ for microMOSFETs. The response of reproducibility in the two types of MOSFETS was found to be maximum 2% variation. Dose linearity was evaluated In the range of 5 to 600 cGy and showed good linear response with $R^2$ value of 0.997 and 0.999. The dose rate dependence of standard MOSFET and microMOSFET was within 1% for 200 cGy from 100 to 500MU/min. For linearity, reproducibility and calibration factor, two types of MOSFETS showed similar results. On the other hand, the standard MOSFET and microMOSFET were found to be remarkable difference in angular and directional dependence. The measured angular dependence of standard MOSFET and microMOSFET was also found to be the variation of 13%, 10% and standard deviation of ${\pm}4.4%,\;{\pm}2.1%$. The directional dependence was found to be the variation of 5%, 2% and standard deviation of ${\pm}2.1%,\;{\pm}1.5%$. Therefore, dose verification of radiation therapy used multidirectional X-ray beam treatments allows for better the use of microMOSFET which has a reduced angular and directional dependence than that of standard MOSFET.
This article presents a new generation of empirical ground motion models for the prediction of response spectral accelerations in soil conditions, specifically developed for the Vrancea intermediate-depth seismic source. The strong ground motion database from which the ground motion prediction model is derived consists of over 800 horizontal components of acceleration recorded from nine Vrancea intermediate-depth seismic events as well as from other seventeen intermediate-depth earthquakes produced in other seismically active regions in the world. Among the main features of the new ground motion model are the prediction of spectral ordinates values (besides the prediction of the peak ground acceleration), the extension of the magnitudes range applicability, the use of consistent metrics (epicentral distance) for this type of seismic source, the extension of the distance range applicability to 300 km, the partition of total standard deviation in intra- and inter-event standard deviations and the use of a national strong ground motion database more than two times larger than in the previous studies. The results suggest that this model is an improvement of the previous generation of ground motion prediction models and can be properly employed in the analysis of the seismic hazard of Romania.
A-PET is a quad-head PET scanner developed for use in small-animal imaging. The dimensions of its volumetric field of view (FOV) are $46.1{\times}46.1{\times}46.1mm^3$ and the gap between the detector modules has been minimized in order to provide a highly sensitive system. However, such a small FOV together with the quad-head geometry causes image quality degradation. The main factor related to image degradation for the quad-head PET is the mispositioning of events caused by the penetration effect in the detector. In this paper, we propose a precise method for modelling the system at the high spatial resolution of the A-PET using a LOR (line of response) based ML-EM (maximum likelihood expectation maximization) that allows for penetration effects. The proposed system model provides the detection probability of every possible ray-path via crystal sampling methods. For the ray-path sampling, the sub-LORs are defined by connecting the sampling points of the crystal pair. We incorporate the detection probability of each sub-LOR into the model by calculating the penetration effect. For comparison, we used a standard LOR-based model and a Monte Carlo-based modeling approach, and evaluated the reconstructed images using both the National Electrical Manufacturers Association NU 4-2008 standards and the Geant4 Application for Tomographic Emission simulation toolkit (GATE). An average full width at half maximum (FWHM) at different locations of 1.77 mm and 1.79 mm are obtained using the proposed system model and standard LOR system model, which does not include penetration effects, respectively. The standard deviation of the uniform region in the NEMA image quality phantom is 2.14% for the proposed method and 14.3% for the LOR system model, indicating that the proposed model out-performs the standard LOR-based model.
This survey was conducted on a total 672 pulmonary tuberculosis patients who were registered at certain health center in Busan, during the period from July 15th to August 31st, 1977, based on Modified Cornell Medical Index(CMI) consisting of 70 questions. Number of 'Yes' response of an individual patients was collected by each large section of Modified CMI. The each number of 'Yes' response was standardized by mean of Z scoring. Z score was obtained by following formula. Z=50+10(Xi-m)/s M : means of 'Yes' response by each section for all subjects s : standard deviation of the mean Xi : number of 'Yes' response by each section in an individual patients The results of obtained were as follows: 1. The number of investigated cases were 672 (459 males and 213 females). The most prevalent group was 20-24 years old group as 18.4% by age, moderate advanced group as 50.8% by radiological diagnosis, INH+PAS+SM group as 34.7% by antituberculotics and unemployed group as 59.9% by occupation. By bacteriological examination of sputum, the rate of negative group was 60.5% and positive group was 39.5%. 2. Z score of complaints by sex was higher in female as 52.4 than in male as 48.9 in general. By radiological diagnosis, there was decreasing tendency with age in male but increasing tendency with age in female. 3. By age group, Z score of complaints was increasing tendency with age in male but there was non-significant differences in female. 4. By bacteriological examination of sputum, the Z score of complaints was increasing tendency with the more discharged bacteria in both sex generally. 5. By antituberculotics, INH group was revealed the highest Z score of complaints as 50.4 in male and INH+PAS group was the highest as 51.21 in female. 6. By occupation, agricultural and fisherman group was the highest as 53.5 and the next group was professional, technical and related workers, unemployed and sales workers in that order.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of neurofeedback training for reducing stress and enhancing self-regulation in late adolescence to identify the possibility of use for nursing intervention. Methods: A nonequivalent control group pre-post quasi-experimental design was used. Participants were 78 late adolescents assigned to the experimental group (n=39) that received the neurofeedback training and the control group (n=39). Data were collected on heart rate variability (HRV) and skin conductance level (SCL) to assess stress-biomarker response. The questionnaire contained 164 items from: Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS), Symptom Checklist-90-Revised (SCL-90-R) and Self-regulatory Ability scale. The neurofeedback training was based on the general adaptation syndrome and body-mind medicine. The intervention was conducted in a total of 10 sessions for 30 minutes per session with high-beta, theta and sensory motor rhythm training on scalp at central zero. Results: There were significant difference in standard deviation of normal to normal interval (p=.036) in HRV and SCL (p=.029) of stress-biomarker response between the two groups. Negative affect (p=.036) in PANAS and obsessive compulsive (p=.023) and depression (p<.001) in SCL-90-R were statistically significant. Self-regulation mode (p=.004) in self-regulation ability scale showed a significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: The results indicated that the neurofeedback training is effective in stress-biomarkers, psychoemotional stress response and self-regulation. Therefore, neurofeedback training using neuroscientific approach based on brain-mind-body model can be used as an effective nursing intervention for late adolescents in clinics and communities for effective stress responses.

This study aimed to measure the behaviors of drivers approaching a roundabout and analyze the characteristics of them. For these objectives, a system to measure the in-vehicle behaviors of a driver when he/she approaches a roundabout. The reliability of the system was analyzed, and the result were applied to a driving test in a roundabout. The result suggested that drivers showed cognitive responses to the accelerator pedal $176.0{\pm}35.18m$ ahead of the approach zone. And they showed cognitive responses to the brake pedal and the speed of the vehicle $121.0{\pm}26.01m$ and $66.0{\pm}18.31m$ ahead of the approach zone, respectively. As for drivers' cognitive changes between the start and end points of their cognitive responses at a roundabout, the standard deviation of the time of response was ${\pm}26.01m$, and the standard deviation of the end point was ${\pm}7.03m$, which meant that there was a 3.71-fold gap between the two deviation values. During the test, differences among the drivers were observed, but no difference was observed among trails.

This study investigated the influence of probabilistic variability in stiffness and nonlinearity of soil on response of nuclear power plant (NPP) structure subjected to seismic loads considering the soil-structure interaction (SSI). Both deterministic and probabilistic methods have been employed to evaluate the dynamic responses of the structure. For the deterministic method, $SRP_{min}$ method given in USNRC SRP 3.7.2(2013) (envelope of responses using three shear modulus profiles of lower bound($G_{LB}$), best estimate($G_{BE}$) and upper bound($G_{UB}$)) and $SRP_{max}$ method (envelope of responses by more than three ground profiles within range of $G_{LB}{\leq}G{\leq}G_{UB}$) have been considered. The probabilistic method uses the Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) that can capture probabilistic feature of soil stiffness defined by the median and the standard deviation. These analysis results indicated that 1) number of samples shall be larger than 60 to apply the probabilistic approach in SSI analysis and 2) in-structure response spectra using equivalent linear soil profiles considering the nonlinear behavior of soil medium can be larger than those based on low-strain soil profiles.
