Sendzimir rolling mill is widely used for rolling hard materials such as stainless steel due to its small work roll diameter and shape controllability using two effective actuators, AS-U-Roll crown adjustment and lst. intermediate roll shifting. However, in comparison with 4-high or 6-high mills, it is noteasy to get good strip or excellent flatness because Z-mill has small diameter of work rolls which are easily deformed by load. A new mathematical model based on the method of dividing roll and strip into multo-portions was used to develop strip profile prediction software. Using the developed software, several influencing factors related to rolled strip profile for Z-Mill were tested analytically and characterized for the effective shape control. The effects of adjusting shape control actuators of Z-Mill on strip profile were also examined and discussed in detail.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of rigidity of post core systems on stress distribution by the finite element stress analysis method. Three-dimensional finite element models simulating an endodontically treated maxillary central incisor restored with a zirconia crown were prepared. Each model contained cortical bone, trabecular bone, periodontal ligament, 4mm apical root canal filling, and post-and-core. A 50N static occlusal load was applied to the palatal surface of the crown with a $60^{\circ}$ angle to the long axis of the tooth. And three parallel type post (zirconia, glass fiber and stainless steel) and two core (Paracore and Tetric ceram) materials were evaluated, respectively. The differences in stress transfer characteristics of the models were analyzed. von Mises stresses were chosen for presentation of results and maximum displacement and hydrostatic pressure were also calculated. For the Result of the research, the model applied glass fiber to post material has lowest von Mises stress and it is suitable for material of post core systems.

The present study was undertaken to evaluate gingivitis and oral hygiene status of the crowned teeth comparing to controlled teeth by use of P. M. A. Index and Oral Hygiene. Index in children from $3\frac{1}{2}$ to $7\frac{1}{2}$ years old. The results were as followings. 1. In P. M. A. Index, satisfactory crowned teeth (1.53) showed statistically significant increment compare to the controlled teeth (0.68) (P<0.01). 2. In P. M. A. Index, unsatisfactory crowned teeth (2.22) showed statistically significant increment compare to the controlled teeth (0.70) (P<0 01). 3. In Oral Hygiene Index, satisfactory crowned teeth (1.49) showed statistically nonsignificant increment compare to the controlled teeth (1.27). 4. In Oral Hygiene Index, unsatisfactory crowned teeth (1.62) showed statistically nonsignicant increment compare to the controlled (1.39) 5. The severity of gingivitis following Oral Hygiene Index showed higher in crowed teeth than the controlled teeth. 6. The severity of giginvitis showed the highest in the unsatisfactory crowned teeth, the next was the satisfactory crowned teeth, and the controlled teeth showed the lowest.
Apical extrusion of canal debris is occurred inadvertently during root canal preparation and this could produce interappointment discomfort or postinstrumentation pain. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of canal preparation methods on the apical extrusion of canal debris by means of comparing the amounts of apically extruded debris with several kinds of instrumentation methods. In the first experiment, 40 incisors were divided into four groups of 10 each. They were instrumented using one of the four techniques: Step-back, crown-down pressureless technique with stainless steel K-files, engine-driven instrumentation with Quantec series 2000, and Profile .04 taper series 29. Root canal irrigation was done with 2.52% sodium hypochlorite solution. In the second experiment, 80 incisors were divided into five groups of 16 each and instrumented using step-back, crown-down pressureless technique with stainless steel K-files, engine-driven instrumentation such as Quantec SC, Quantec LX, and Profile .04 taper series 29 No irrigation procedure was performed in this second experiment. Extruded debris from each tooth was collected in a container and weighed by the use of an electronic balance after desiccation. With or without canal irrigation, step-back technique produced significantly more amount of apical debris than the other groups (p<0.05). However, there was no significant difference among crown-down pressureless technique, engine-driven instrumentation with Quantec LX, Quantec SC, or Profile. Therefore, either by hand or engine-driven instrumentation, it is concluded that to minimize apical debris, techniques using reaming motion of files should be applied rather than filing motion.

Very few reports are available on the occurrence of abnormality of both enamel and dentin. This case has some characteristiced of both amelogenesis imperfecta and dentinogenesis imperfecta. Clinically, the enamel of primary dentition was completely absent and when the permanent teeth came to the pediatric dept. of Dankook University Dental Hopital for treatment. Fixed-removable type resin plate was delivered to increase vertical dimension and to solve esthetic and functional defects. Hypoplastic teeth were restored either stainless steel crown or composite resin restoration or both. The periodic recall check and oral hygiene education are recommended.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the stress distribution in the dentin and post structures by the various post core materials and the amount of remaining coronal tooth structures. The 2-dimensional finite element models of mandibular 2nd premolars was divided into seven types according to the various amount of remaining coronal tooth structures. All types were modeled using equal length, diameter and shape of the post. 2 types of post and core materials were used : 1) cast gold post and core 2) stainless steel post and compsite resin core 10 Newton force was applied as follows 1) vertical force on occlusal fossa 2) $45^{\circ}$ oblique force on buccal surface of buccal cusp tip The results were as follows : 1. There was no apparent difference in the pattern of stress distribution according to the amount of remaining coronal tooth structure. 2. There was no apparent difference in the pattern of stress distribution within the dentin according to the post and core materials. A cast gold post and core generated lower dentin stress than a stainless steel post and resin core. 3. Max. dentinal stress resulting from vertical force was observed in the lingual side of dentin around the crown margin. This stress resulting from oblique force was observed in the lingual root surface of alveolar bone crest level.

This study analyzed the longevity of preformed metal crowns (PMCs) in first permanent molars and evaluated factors influencing their survival during a long-term follow-up period. In all, 115 first permanent molars treated with PMCs between June 2008 and June 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. The overall combined success rate for the study group was 84.3%. The 5-year survival rate was 82.8%. Multivariate Cox regression analyses identified distal cavities and mandibular PMC placement as risk factors for restoration failure. Careful placement of PMCs at the final try-in stage augments the longevity of the crown.

To evaluate the change of working length with various instrumentation techniques in curved canals, working length and canal curvature were determined before and after canal instrumentation in buccal or mesial canals of extracted human molars. Stainless steel K-files ($MANI^{(R)}$, Matsutani Seisakusho Co. Takanezawa, Japan), nickel-titanium K-files (Naviflex $NT^{TM}$, Brassier, Savannah, USA) , $ProFile^{(R)}$, and ProTaper (Dentsply-Maillefer, Ballaigues, Switzerland) were used to prepare the canals with crown-down technique. In two hand instrumentation groups coronal flaring was made with Gates Glidden burs. Apical canals were instrumented until apical diameter had attained a size of 30. Positional relation between the tooth apex and the $\#10$ K-file tip was examined by using AutoCAD 2000 (Autodesk Corp., San Rafael. CA, USA) under a stereomicroscope before and after coronal flaring, and after apical instrumentation. Degree of canal curvature was also measured with Schneider's method in radiographs. Data of working length and canal curvature changes were statistically analyzed with one-way ANOVA and Tukey's studentized range test. Working length and canal curvature were decreased significantly in each step in all instrumentation groups. Coronal flaring using Cates Glidden burs in hand instrument groups and whole canal instrumentation using stainless steel hand K-files caused significantly more working length change than in ProFile instrumentation group (p<0.05). The result of this study demonstrates that all of the above kinds of instrumentation in curved canals cause reduction of working length and canal curvature at each instrumentation steps, and hand instrumentation causes more working length change than ProFile.
The purpose of this study was to compare the centering abilities of four root canal instrument systems and the amounts of dentin removed after root canal shaping using them. The mesial canals of twenty extracted mandibular first molars having $10-20^{\circ}$ curvature were scanned using X-ray micro-computed tomography (XMCT)-scanner before root canals were instrumented. They were divided into four groups (n = 10 per group). In Group 1, root canals were instrumented by the step-back technique with stainless steel K-Flexofile after coronal flaring. The remainders were instrumented by the crown-down technique with Profile (Group 2), ProTaper (Group 3) or K3 system (Group 4). All canals were prepared up to size 25 at the end-point of preparation and scanned again. Scanned images were processed to reconstruct three-dimensional images using three-dimensional image software and the changes of total canal volume were measured. Pre-and post-operative cross-sectional images of 1, 3, 5, and 7 mm from the apical foramen were com pared. For each level, centering ratio were calculated using Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and image software program. ProTaper and K3 systems have a tendency to remove more dentin than the other file systems. In all groups, the lowest value of centering ratio at 3 mm level was observed. And except at 3 mm level, ProTaper system made canals less centered than the other systems (p < 0.05).

This study investigates the success rate of pulpotomy using electrosurgery operated on a primary molar in caries. The pulpotomy using electrosurgery was done on 253 primary molars of 111 young patients from 2 to 9 years old during the period of the first day of January 2011 to the last day of December 2015. After the amputation of pulp and hemostasis of primary molar were done using electrosurgery, MTA as pulp capping material was applied to the primary molar and the tooth was restored with the stainless steel crown. The follow up period after the treatment ranged from 4-46 months. The clinical and radiographic success rate ranged from 92.1 - 94.3%. Which is comparable to formocresol and ferric sulfate pulpotomy. Due to its non-pharmacological characteristic, electrosurgery can minimize harmful effect on the pulp tissue. Its fast bleeding control makes it easy and safe to use in pediatric and disabled patients in comparatively simple manner. Electrosurgery can be an alternative for pulp therapy considering the side effects of pharmacological ways.
