  • It is well-known that the spectrum of a $spin^{\mathbb{C}}$ Dirac operator on a closed Riemannian $spin^{\mathbb{C}}$ manifold $M^{2k}$ of dimension 2k for $k{\in}{\mathbb{N}}$ is symmetric. In this article, we prove that over an odd-dimensional Riemannian product $M^{2p}_1{\times}M^{2q+1}_2$ with a product $spin^{\mathbb{C}}$ structure for $p{\geq}1$, $q{\geq}0$, the spectrum of a $spin^{\mathbb{C}}$ Dirac operator given by a product connection is symmetric if and only if either the $spin^{\mathbb{C}}$ Dirac spectrum of $M^{2q+1}_2$ is symmetric or $(e^{{\frac{1}{2}}c_1(L_1)}{\hat{A}}(M_1))[M_1]=0$, where $L_1$ is the associated line bundle for the given $spin^{\mathbb{C}}$ structure of $M_1$.

  • The Quaternionic Dirac operator proves instrumental in tackling various challenges within spectral geometry processing and shape analysis. This work involves the introduction of the quaternionic Dirac operator on a symplectic submanifold of an exact symplectic product manifold. The self adjointness of the symplectic quaternionic Dirac operator is observed. This operator is verified for spin ${\frac{1}{2}}$ particles. It factorizes the Hodge Laplace operator on the symplectic submanifold of an exact symplectic product manifold. For achieving this a new complex structure and an almost quaternionic structure are formulated on this exact symplectic product manifold.

  • Let X be a smooth, closed, connected spin 4-manifold with $b_1(X)=0$ and signature ${\sigma}-(X)$. In this paper we use Seiberg-Witten theory to prove that if X admits a spin alternating $A_4$ action, then $b^+_2(X)$ ${\geq}$ |${\sigma}{(X)}$|/8+3 under some non-degeneracy conditions.

  • In this paper, we construct a new exotic smooth 4-manifold X which is homeomorphic, but not diffeomorphic, to ${\mathbb{C}}\mathbb{P}^2{\sharp}13\overline{\mathbb{C}\mathbb{P}}^2$. Moreover the manifold X has vanishing Seiberg-Witten invariants for all $Spin^c$-structures of X and has no symplectic structure.

  • Using the results in the paper [12], we give an estimate for the first positive and negative Dirac eigenvalue on a 7-dimensional Sasakian spin manifold. The limiting case of this estimate can be attained if the manifold under consideration admits a Sasakian Killing spinor. By imposing the eta-Einstein condition on Sasakian manifolds of higher dimensions 2m + 1 ≥ 9, we derive some new Dirac eigenvalue inequalities that improve the recent results in [12, 13].

  • We present a duality between the category of compact Riemannian spin manifolds (equipped with a given spin bundle and charge conjugation) with isometries as morphisms and a suitable "metric" category of spectral triples over commutative pre-$C^*$-algebras. We also construct an embedding of a "quotient" of the category of spectral triples introduced in [5] into the latter metric category. Finally we discuss a further related duality in the case of orientation and spin-preserving maps between manifolds of fixed dimension.

  • The Yamabe invariant is a topological invariant of a smooth closed manifold, which contains information about possible scalar curvature on it. It is well-known that a product manifold $T^m{\times}B$ where $T^m$ is the m-dimensional torus, and B is a closed spin manifold with nonzero $\^{A}$-genus has zero Yamabe invariant. We generalize this to various T-structured manifolds, for example $T^m$-bundles over such B whose transition functions take values in Sp(m, $\mathbb{Z}$) (or Sp(m - 1, $\mathbb{Z}$) ${\oplus}\;{{\pm}1}$ for odd m).

  • A bubble trapped in the liquid manifold of INTELSAT IV F-7 spacecraft caused a mass imbalance between the System 1 propellant tanks and a wobble half angle of 0.38 degree to 0.48 degree. A maneuver on May 14, 1980 passed the bubble through the axial jet and allowed propellant to redistribute. A 0.2 rpm change in sin rate was observed with an exponential decay time constant of 6 minutes. In this paper, moment of inertia, tank geometry and hydrodynamic models are derived to match the observed spin rate data. The values of the total mass of propellant considered were 16, 19 and 20 kgs with corresponding mass imbalances of 14.3, 15 and 15.1 Kgs, respectively. The result shows excellent agreement with observed spin rate data but it was necessary to assume a greater mass of hydrazine in the tanks than propellant accounting indicated.

  • Let X be a closed, oriented, Riemannian 4-manifold with ${{b_2}^+}(x)\;>\;1$ and of simple type. Suppose that ${\sigma}\;:\;X\;{\rightarrow}\;X$ is an involution preserving orientation with an oriented, connected, compact 2-dimensional submanifold $\Sigma$ as a fixed point set with ${\Sigma\cdot\Sigma}\;{\geq}\;0\;and\;[\Sigma]\;{\neq}\;0\;{\in}\;H_2(X;\mathbb{Z})$. We show that if _X(\Sigma)\;+\;{\Sigma\cdots\Sigma}\;{\neq}\;0$ then the $Spin^{C}$ bundle $\={P}$ is not $\mathbb{Z}_2-equivariant$, where det $\={P}\;=\;L$ is a basic class with $c_1(L)[\Sigma]\;=\;0$.
