Fast Computation of the Visibility Region Using the Spherical Projection Method

  • To obtain visual information of a target object, a camera should be placed within the visibility region. As the visibility region is dependent on the relative position of the target object and the surrounding object, the position change of the surrounding object during a task requires recalculation of the visibility region. For a fast computation of the visibility region so as to modify the camera position to be located within the visibility region, we propose a spherical projection method. After being projected onto the sphere the visibility region is represented in $\theta$-$\psi$ spaces of the spherical coordinates. The reduction of calculation space enables a fast modification of the camera location according to the motion of the surrounding objects so that the continuous observation of the target object during the task is possible.

유한체적법을 통한 구면 좌표계에서의 볼츠만 수송방정식의 해석 (Analysis of Boltzmann transport equation with Finite Volume Method at Spherical coordinate)

  • A "finite volume method" is proposed to predict heat transport in a spherical enclosure at micro/nanoscale with the Boltzmann transport equation (BTE). The gray version of the BTE with the relaxation time approximation has been applied. Pointing out similarity between radiative transfer equation (RTE) and BTE, the mapping process in RTE is adopted to treat the angular derivative term and linear algebraic discretization equation is derived by using the established method which is used in 2-D BTE in cartesian coordinates. The simulation results are compared to exact solution to RTE for various acoustic thicknesses and ratio of radii. The comparison shows that this method is logical and accurate, and it is possible to easily adopt various models in spherical BTE.

구형 대칭성 검정에 대한 연구 (A Test for Spherical Symmetry)

  • 이 논문에서는 카이제곱 구형 대칭성 검정을 제안한다. 이 검정은 검정통계량과 점근적 유의확률을 쉽게 계산할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 이 통계량의 구형 대칭성 가정하의 극한 분포를 도출하고 유한표본에서 잘 부합되는지 모의실험을 통해 살펴본다. 또한 다양한 대립분포에서 기존의 구형 대칭성 검정과 검정력을 비교하는 모의실험을 수행하며 마지막으로 실제 자료 분석 예제를 제공한다.

삼각망의 형상 변형 (Shape Deformation of Triangular Net)

  • A new approach based on mean value coordinate combined with Laplacian coordinate is proposed for shape deformation of a large polygon model composed of triangular net. In the method, the spherical mean value coordinates for closed control meshes is introduced to describe a vertex in the triangle meshes to be deformed. Furthermore, the well known quardratic least square method for the Laplacian coordinates is employed in order to deform the control meshes. Because the mean value coordinates are continuous and smooth on the interior of control meshes, deforming operation of control meshes change the shape of polygon model while preserving the intrinsic surface detail. The effectiveness and validity of this novel approach was demonstrated by using it to deform large and complex polygon models with arbitrary topologies.

CBCT를 이용한 3차원 안면비대칭분석 (3D Analysis of Facial Asymmetry using CBCT)

  • Accurate analysis of facial asymmetry prior to any orthognathic or orthodontic treatment plan is essential in ensuring good treatment result. Dental CBCT (Cone-beam Computed Tomography) provides as actual three-dimensional measurements of distance and angle without any radiographic magnification as medical CT provides, while its field of view is limited to the oral and maxillofacial area. CBCT is a useful tool for the diagnosis of facial asymmetry. The coordinates of facial landmarks are obtained from the 3D reconstruction software which enables the establishment of perpendicular planes and the identification of the landmarks. Then, the bilateral discrepancies of the landmarks are obtained as spherical polar coordinates which can show the amount of asymmetry and its direction. A method of 3D analysis of facial asymmetry using CBCT is introduced in this report.

다중 CCD를 이용한 부피 간섭계의 성능 개선 (The performance improvement of the volumetric interferometer with multi-CCDs)

  • The Volumetric Interferometer using two spherical wavefronts emitted from the ends of two single mode fibers has been suggested to measure 3-dimensional absolute coordinates. In this paper, we try to improve the performance of the volumetric interferometer using multi-CCDs. We get coordinates matching matrixes between CCDs and can obtain more information in the space with multi-CCDs. Also we find out the best arrangement of multi-CCDs by computer simulations. In the simulation we can know that it will be better to increase the distance between CCDs to improve performance. For the performance test, we do a repeatability test, a comparison test with 2-D stage and the self-calibration using artifact.

선 기하학을 이용한 5-SS 멀티 링크 현가장치의 순간 스크류 축 해석 (Analysis of Instantaneous Screw Axis in 5-SS Multi-link Suspensions Using Line Geometry)

  • This paper presents the analysis method of the instantaneous screw axis using line geometry in bump and rebound motion of 5-SS multi-link suspensions. Instantaneous screw axis is based on screw motion, and screw motion of zero pitch can be expressed as $Pl{\ddot{u}}cker$ line coordinates of line geometry instead of screw coordinates. In screw coordinates, twist and wrench are described by components of instantaneous screw axis. For instantaneous motion of wheel assembly, the principle of virtual work with twist and wrench is applied to 5-SS multi-link suspension, and it makes 5 linear equations. Therefore, it is possible to find instantaneous screw axis by solving these equations. This analysis by line geometry demands geometric values only, such as the locations of spherical joints in the case of multi-link suspensions.

Volumetric Interferometry Using Spherical Wave Interference for Three-dimensional Coordinate Metrology

  • We present a new method of volumetric interferometer, which is intended to measure the three-dimensional coordinates of a moving object in a simultaneous way with a single optical setup. The method is based on the principles of phase-measuring interferometry with phase shifting. Two diffraction point sources, which are made of the polished ends of single-mode optical fibers are embedded on the object. Two spherical wavefronts emanate from the diffraction point sources and interfere with each other within the measurement volume. One wavefront is phase-shifted by elongating the corresponding fiber using a PZT extender. A CCD array sensor fixed at the stationary measurement station detects the resulting interference field. The measured phases are then related to the three-dimensional location of the object with a set of non-liner equations of Euclidean distance, from which the complete set of three-dimensional spatial coordinates of the object is determined through rigorous numerical computation based upon the least square error minimization.

  • 디지털 워터마킹 기술은 디지털 콘텐츠의 불법 복제를 방지하기 위해 디지털 데이터에 사람이 감지할 수 없는 정보를 은닉한다. 본 논문에서는 3차원 메쉬 모델(mesh model)에 대한 적응형 워터마킹 방법을 제안한다 본 논문에서 제안한 방법에서는 서로 이웃하는 꼭지점 좌표들 사이의 공간적 상관성에 따라 워터마크를 삽입하며, 이는 사람의 눈에 잘 감지되지 않는 지역에 워터마크를 강하게 삽입하고 그렇지 않은 지역에는 약하게 삽입하는 적응형 워터마킹 기술이다., 우선, 3차원 메쉬 모델을 운행(traversing)하여 삼각형 스트립(triangle strip)을 생성하고, 모든 꼭지점 좌표를 구 좌표계(spherical coordinate system)로 변환시킨다. 그리고, 3차원 모델의 지역적 외관을 결정하는 꼭지점 좌표 값들의 변화량을 계산한 후, 워터마크 신호를 계산한 변화량의 크기에 따라 유연하게 꼭지점 좌표 값에 삽입시킨다. 본 논문에서 제안한 워터마크 방법이 워터마크 신호의 비지각성(imperceptibility)을 크게 개선시킬 수 있음을 실험을 통해 검증했으며, 제안한 방법의 강인성 (robustness)에 대한 BER (bit error rate) 결과를 제시하였다.

구면좌표계 기반에서 3차원 모델 검색 (3D Model Retrieval based on Spherical Coordinate System)

  • 본 논문에서는 구면 좌표계 기반에서 3차원 모델을 검색하는 새로운 알고리즘을 제안한다. 3차원 모델 위의 임의의 점들의 좌표(x, y, z)를 구하고, 이 좌표들을 구면좌표계의 좌표로 변환한다. 이 샘플들의 위도(zenith)의 분포를 3차원 모델의 특징으로 정의한다. 임의의 샘플 좌표를 구하기 위해 우리는 Osada가 제안한 방법을 사용하였고, 좌표축을 정규화하기 위하여 PCA 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 데이터는 프린스턴 대학의 벤치마크 데이터를 사용하였으며 Vranic이 제안한 depth buffer-based feature vector 알고리즘과 비교하였고, 본 논문에서 제안한 방법이 정확도에서 12.6% 더 정확하게 모델을 검색하였다.
