  • A general linearly constrained narrowband adaptive array is examined in the eigenvector space. The optimum weight vector in the eigenvector space is shown to have the same performance as in the standard coordinate system, except that the input signal correlation matrix and look direction steering vector are replaced with the eigenvalue matrix and transformed steering vector. It is observed that the variation in gain factor results in the variation in the distance between the constraint plane and the origin in the translated weight vector space such that the increase in gain factor decreased the distance from the constraint plane to the origin, thus affecting the nulling performance. Simulation results showed that the general linearly constrained adaptive array performed better at an optimal gain factor compared with the conventional linearly constrained adaptive array in a coherent signal environment and the former showed similar performance as the latter in a noncoherent signal environment.

  • This paper presents a parametric line equation on the log-polar mapped plane to detect the straight lines in an original image. The log-polar edge image used in Hough transform is constructed by combining the edge images of both fovea and periphery. The foveal edge image detected by a Sobel mask on the Cartesian plane is transformed to the log-polar plane by forward mapping but the edge detection of the peripheral region is obtained by directly applying the newly developed mask to the log-polar plane. This paper also proposes a analytic method then determining a border between the fovea and the periphery regions.

  • The SPICA (SPace Infrared Telescope for Cosmology & Astrophysics) is a next generation infrared space telescope being prepared by JAXA, ESA and other international collaborators. We propose to develop FPC (Focal Plane Camera) consisting of two near-infrared cameras: FPC-G (I band) for focal plane guidance and FPC-S (0.7 - 5 um) for a back-up of FPC-G and a NIR instrument for scientific observations. In this talk, we introduce the requirement and the design concept of the FPC as well as the development strategy of the project.

  • Transformation which is the major damage factor of living space in folk village is caused by improvement behaviors reflecting real requirements of residents who are the subjects of life. Such a process changes traditional space structure gradually and lowers preservative value of folk village. Therefore this study examines transformational conditions of living space centering around changes of spatial components and plane forms through literature and field research and analyzes characteristics of transformational phenomenon. This study examined changes of components and transformation of Seongeup folk village. While main room plane was diversified by residents' requirements, it was not harmonized with traditional image of Seongeup folk village. Transformation of living space at Seongeup Folk Village was positive from the side of residents' living requirements, but negative in that it damaged unique identity of folk village. Accordingly, it is thought that deliberation considering residents' living requirements as the field of their life with maintenance of original form for the purpose of preserving folk village and professionals' support and legal study for revision of approval system are continuously required.

  • There are many large and small spaces in the interior of the building, and these spaces are arranged and connected to form a systematic spatial structure. A structure is a collection of several parts to form a whole. In other words, the spatial structure in architecture can be seen as a whole organized and organized as individual unit spaces are gathered together. Therefore, in order to understand the spatial structure, we first need to define the unit spaces that form part, how they are interconnected and arranged, and then understand how and how these unit spaces are organized to form a whole. The main purpose of this study is to study the structural system of space based on the shape information of space on architectural plane. This means interpreting the process and method of how the unit spaces defined as a certain shape on the architectural plane are organized step by step, integrated into a higher level, and eventually integrated into one whole. In this paper, the shape and layout of the unit space are identified in the architectural plan, the connection relation is defined, and expressed in the network form. And suggests a new methodology for interpreting the organizational process in which the following spaces are integrated as a whole. This new methodology is based on human perceptual characteristics. When people recognize an object, they recognize the object partly and completely. We want to explain the relationship between parts of space and the whole according to their characteristics.

  • In this paper, we show that algebraic properties of Toeplitz operators on both Bergman spaces and Hardy spaces on the unit disc essentially generalizes on arbitrary bounded domains in the plane. In particular, we obtain results for the uniqueness property and commuting problems of the Toeplitz operators on the Hardy and the Bergman spaces associated to bounded domains.

  • Kernel principal component analysis(PCA) maps observations in nonlinear feature space to a reduced dimensional plane of principal components. We do not need to specify the feature space explicitly because the procedure uses the kernel trick. In this paper, we propose a graphical scheme to represent variables in the kernel principal component analysis. In addition, we propose an index for individual variables to measure the importance in the principal component plane.

  • In this paper, we give an algorithm to construct a space curve in Euclidean 3-space ${\mathbb{E}}^3$ from a plane curve which is called PDP-helix of order d. The notion of the PDP-helices is a generalization of a general helix and a slant helix in ${\mathbb{E}}^3$. It is naturally shown that the PDP-helix of order 1 and order 2 are the same as the general helix and the slant helix, respectively. We give a characterization of the PDP-helix of order d. Moreover, we study some geometric properties of that of order 3.

  • For a geostationary satellite north-south keeping maneuver must control the inclination elements. The effects on the orbit plane of maneuvers and natural perturbations may be represented by a plane plot of Wc versus, Ws, since these inclination elements represent the projection of the major axis and the inclination elements are obtained.

  • In order to enhance torque density of five-phase permanent magnetic synchronous motor with third harmonic injection for electric vehicles (EVs) applications, optimum seeking method for injection ratio of third harmonic was proposed adopting theoretical derivation and finite element analysis method, under the constraint of same amplitude for current and air-gap flux. By five-dimension space vector decomposition, the mathematic model in two orthogonal space plane, $d_1-q_1$ and $d_3-q_3$, was deduced. And the corresponding dual-plane vector control method was accomplished to independently control fundamental and third harmonic currents in each vector plane. A five-phase PMSM prototype with quasi-trapezoidal flux pattern and its fivephase voltage source inverter were designed. Also, the dual-plane vector control was digitized in a single XC3S1200E FPGA. Simulation and experimental results prove that using the proposed optimum seeking method, the torque density of five-phase PMSM is enhanced by 20%, without any increase of power converter capacity, machine size and iron core saturation.
