The main objectives of this research are to compile all the researches published in the registered academic journals to study the trends of researches and analyze the relationships between research contents and the social factors so that the accomplishments of community related researches and future tasks can be identified. For this purpose, 97 papers published between 1973 and July 2011 were chronologically organized and analyzed in terms of research methods, main contents, and their relationship with social factors. The key findings are as follows; 1) Researches on multi-family-housing community started in 1973 mainly focusing on the social factors of neighbors in a complex; since 2000, however, the researches on physical factors were increased the most followed by psychological and social factors accordingly. 2) The research findings were not fully developed to give a guidance for appropriate space programs or an analysis of residents' preference on facilities. The cause of this shortfall is due to the fact that there was a lack of studies on residents' usage of community facilities based on quantified database. 3) More comprehensive researches should be conducted in the future for vitalizations of community through facility supply system and design guidelines, development and operation of community programs and measures to enhance community awareness targeted on public housing and more diverse types of housing being apart from typical multi-family-houisng provide by private sector.
Objectives: As the size of elderly population living alone grows, socioeconomic diversity has also increased. This study examined if social risk factors of poor self-rated health were distinguishable between the low income elderly and their non-low income counterparts both living alone. Methods: The '2006 Elderly Health Interview Survey' conducted by D-gu in Seoul was utilized. We divided the elderly living alone into two groups depending on their economic status: low income and non-low income. Employing logistic regression, we analyzed the associations of poor self-rated health with socio-demographic factors, health-related factors, social support, the relations with children, social activities, welfare service use, and the perception of neighborhood safety. Results: Proportion of rating one's own health being poor was different between two populations. Social support was important for the self-rated health of the non-low income elderly, while welfare service use, the perception of neighborhood safety, and the relations with children were noticeable for the low income elderly. Conclusions: To better understand the health need of elderly population living alone, their heterogeneity in socioeconomic characteristics should be taken into account.
Elderly people living in poverty are one of the most vulnerable population groups who are at risk of experiencing social exclusion. Social participation is an important contributing factor to active aging and social integration of the older adults living in poverty. This study aims to identify factors affecting social participation of the poor elderly. Data from the second wave of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing was used for the analyses and 1,346 poor elderly aged over 65 were analyzed. The findings showed that age, education, health status, a level of depression, financial stress, and economic activity were associated with the social participation of the elderly living in poverty. These results indicated that psychological empowerment and specific needs of the older adults living in poverty should be considered in developing services and programs to promote social participation of the poor elderly.
The present study is designed to develop surveying tools to measure stressors of and social supports for Radiological Technologists which may play a role to alleviate their stresses caused from their job environments. For this purpose, an analysis of reliability by factors of personal stressors was conducted on 890 radiologists who are working at 44 general hospitals in 16 cities and provinces across the country. The results of the analysis may be summed up as follows: Six factors in 2 concerned fields turned out to be major tools for use as items of questionnaires to measure social supports for and organizational culture of Radiological Technologists. The factors determined to be applicable for survey with reliability coefficient of more than 0.7 measured by factors for internal coherence included social supports on the job(0.90), off-the-job social supports(0.81), job satisfaction(0.80), devotion for job by length of service(0.81) and emotional devotion for job(0.80), all deemed to be appropriate as survey items. In the verifying process of the results, it was found that normative devotion for job(0.61) showed lower reliability as its statistical coefficient was analyzed to be less than 0.7. It seemed, therefore, necessary to reconstruct items or re-select such ones only that can maintain internal coherence in order to analyze appropriateness of related measuring tools, or to develop new measuring tools. Although the outcomes of this study can be used to verify reliability and appropriateness of concerned concepts to assess stresses caused during the job performance of Radiological Technologists, it may be improper to adopt them to measure all types of social supports and stresses that occur generally under the job environment. It is desired, however, to compare and analyze the findings of the present study with others and to utilize them as basic data for further development of tools that can maintain internal coherence in terms of reliability and appropriateness in spite of changing social environments.

In this research, we conducted meta analysis of the cases of "burnout" of social workers from the 1990s to 2013. The result of analysis shows that the factors that cause burnout of social workers include work experience, compensation from work environment, supervision, promotion, work freedom-related factors and client-related factors such as the seriousness of client problems, the appropriateness of client counts, and all factors excluding client-related factors showed signficaint correlatoins. Moreover, the higher the age and the length of work experience, the lower the sense of self-wroth and emotional intelligence; the higher the social support, the lower the possibility of burn out. The research results suggest need for programs to prevent burn out of social service providers both in environment internal and external to organizatoins.

Social readjustment is very important in rehabilitation of stroke survivors. The purpose of this study was to examine the level of social readjustment and related factors in stroke survivors. Especially, to find the most useful predictor for social readjustment is a major point of this research. The study included 254 outpatients who were given follow-up care after discharge from. Occupational rehabilitation and resumption of the perceived meaningful social activity prios to the stroke were used to measure social readjustment. The resumptions of first meaningful social activity was the best predictor for life satisfaction in stroke survivors(r=.245, p<.01). The substance of perceived meaningful social activities were job, meeting with friends, hobby and activities for the family. The sum of meaningful social activities (r=.175, p<.01) and occupational rehabilitation (r=.116, p<.05) were significantly related to life satisfaction. There were significant difference in IADL, depression and life satisfaction according to resumption of meaningful social activity. But, occupational rehabilitation was not related to depression. The level of social readjustment was different between occupational rehabilitation and resumption of meaningful social activity. It was 45.7% in the first meaningful social activity and 36.6% in occupational rehabilitation. The related factors with resumption of the first meaningful social activity were that of IADL, depression, illness intrusiveness and cognitive function. And the level of IADL, illness intrusiveness, cognitive function, and age were significantly related to occupational rehabilitation. In conclusion, we suggest that the resumption of the first meaningful activity in stroke survivors is the best predictor of social rehabilitation. Thus, nurses need to work for resumption of meaningful activity as well as occupational rehabilitation.
In this study. we present a modified rational addiction model which incorporates social-psychological factors. This is done through a utility function which includes social-psychological factors as its component. We apply this model to a cigarette consumption function in Korea using the data from the Korean Household Panel Study(KHPS). The results provide relatively strong support for the rational addiction model. However. the impact of social-psychological factors and the short-run and long-run price elasticities are statistically insignificant.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to identify the prevalence of malnutrition and to explore its association with socioeconomic and social support factors among Korean elderly in the community. Methods : The study sample was a weighted population of 10,160 elderly who participated in the 2014 Korean Elderly Living Conditions and Welfare Survey. Multiple logistic regression analyses were performed to assess the association socioeconomic and social support factors have with malnutrition. Results : Of the Korean elderly 18.6% were at risk of malnutrition. Being uneducated (OR=1.40) and having a lower household income (OR=1.97) were significantly associated with malnutrition even after adjusting for other socio-demographic and health-related covariates. Elderly who lived alone (OR=1.86) and who had poor relationships with their children (OR=1.97) were at much higher risk of malnutrition than their counterparts. Their having poor relationships with acquaintances and poor social participation were also associated with malnutrition. Purpose: The Purpose of this study is to build up model of the emotional labor worker's health. Methods: Data was collected from 230 emotional labor workers from 2 department stores, 2 insurance companies, and 3 hotels located in Seoul and Kyung-gi areas, by the health managers and team leaders. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, pearson correlation, factor analysis and covariance structure analysis were used by SPSS window 10 version and AMOS 4.01. Results: The hypothetical model showed a goodness-of-fit to the empirical data(GFI=0.90, RMR=0.04, NFI= 0.79, PNFI=0.64). Eight out of fifteen paths of the model were accepted, while the other seven paths rejected. : From 'surface acting' to 'health', from 'social support' to 'surface acting', from 'social support' to 'health', from 'factors of organizational culture' to 'surface acting', from 'factors of organizational culture' to 'deep acting', from 'personal factor' to 'social support', from 'factors of organizational culture' to 'social support', from 'routine stress' to 'social support'. In conclusion, it has been confirmed that surface acting and social support were dominating factors to the health of emotional labor workers. Conclusion: In order to manage the health of emotional labor workers, it is imperative to develop a strategy to reduce their surface acting.
Background: This study analyzed predictors of regular mammography performance in Korea. In addition, we determined factors affecting regular mammography performance in life-transition aged women by applying an attitude, social influence, and self-efficacy (ASE) model. Materials and Methods: Data were collected from women aged over 40 years residing in province J in Korea. The 178 enrolled subjects provided informed voluntary consent prior to completing a structural questionnaire. Results: The overall regular mammography performance rate of the subjects was 41.6%. Older age, city residency, high income and part-time job were associated with a high regular mammography performance. Among women who had undergone more breast self-examinations (BSE) or more doctors' physical examinations (PE), there were higher regular mammography performance rates. All three ASE model factors were significantly associated with regular mammography performance. Women with a high level of positive ASE values had a significantly high regular mammography performance rate. Within the ASE model, self-efficacy and social influence were particularly important. Logistic regression analysis explained 34.7% of regular mammography performance and PE experience (${\beta}=4.645$, p=.003), part-time job (${\beta}=4.010$, p=.050), self-efficacy (${\beta}=1.820$, p=.026) and social influence (${\beta}=1.509$, p=.038) were significant factors. Conclusions: Promotional strategies that could improve self-efficacy, reinforce social influence and reduce geographical, time and financial barriers are needed to increase the regular mammography performance rate in life-transition aged.
