A possible application of the partial discharge measurement due to artificial defect using Pockets sensor in GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) (가스절연기기(GIS)의 인위적 결함에 의한 부분방전의 검출을 위한 Probe-Type Pockels Sensor의 적용 가능성)

  • 본 연구는 국내에서 최초로 제안되고 적용가능성이 입증되어 설계, 제작된 Probe-type Pockets sensor(HY-Pockets Sensor)를 GIS등의 고전압 장비들에 응용한 레이저 부분방전 진단 시스템 개발을 목표로 하고 있다. 이러한 목적으로, 170kV 급 실 규모 GIS내부의 전류 도체에 다양한 곡률 반경의 침 전극을 부착시켜 부분 방전에 기인된 불평등 전계를 형성시켜 개발된 센서의 실규모 적용 가능성을 고찰하였다. 본 레이저 계측 시스템은 He-Ne laser, single multi-mode optical fiber, $2{\times}2$ 50/50 laser to single mode fiber coupler, probe-type Pockets sensor, photo detector 등으로 구성하여 레이저의 진행을 유도하고, 신호의 특성을 분석하였다. probe-type Pockets sensor로부터 의 출력 신호는 photo detector를 통해 전기적 신호로 변환되어 digital oscilloscope에 의해 측정되고, 또한 PC를 통해 데이터의 저장과 통계적, 분석적 처리 과정을 수행하게 된다. 본 연구의 결과로서 부분방전원에서 생성된 방전 신호에 대한 거리에 따른 센서 감도 결정, 그에 대한 센서 감도의 보정 향상, 전계의 세기의 변화에 따른 센서의 선형성 등이 도출되었고, 이러한 실험결과를 통해 실 GIS(170kv급) 내부에서 발생하는 부분방전의 검출에 본 레이저 부분방전 진단 시스템의 적용 가능성이 제시 되었다.

Development of an Angle Estimation System Using a Soft Textile Bending Angle Sensor (소프트 텍스타일 굽힘 각 센서를 이용한 각도 추정 시스템 개발 )

  • This study aimed to develop a soft fabric-based elbow-bending angle sensor that can replace conventional hard-type inertial sensors and a system for estimating bending angles using it. To enhance comfort during exercise, this study treated four fabrics (Bergamo, E-band, span cushion, and polyester) by single-walled carbon nanotube dip coating to create conductive textiles. Subsequently, one fabric was selected based on performance evaluations, and an elbow flexion angle sensor was fabricated. Gauge factor, hysteresis, and sensing range were employed as performance evaluation metrics. The data obtained using the fabricated sensor showed different trends in sensor values for the changes in the angle during bending and extending movements. Because of this divergence, the two movements were separated, and this constituted the one-step process. In the two-step process, multilayer perceptron (MLP) was employed to handle the complex nonlinear relationships and achieve high data accuracy. Based on the results of this study, we anticipate effective utilization in various smart wearable and healthcare domains. Consequently, a soft- fabric bending angle sensor was developed, and using MLP, nonlinear relationships can be addressed, enabling angle estimation. Based on the results of this study, we anticipate the effective utilization of the developed system in smart wearables and healthcare.

Fabrication Process of Single-walled Carbon Nanotube Sensors Aligned by a Simple Self-assembly Technique (간단한 자기 조립 기법으로 배열된 단일벽 탄소 나노 튜브 센서의 제작공정)

  • In previous reports, we investigated a selective assembly method of fabricating single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) on a silicon-dioxide ($SiO_2$) surface by using only a photolithographic process. In this paper, we have fabricated field effect transistors (FETs) with SWCNT channels by using the technique mentioned above. Also, we have electrically measured gating effects of these FETs under different source-drain voltages ($V_{SD}$). These FETs have been fabricated for sensor applications. Photoresist (PR) patterns have been made on a $SiO_2$-grown silicon (Si) substrate by using a photolithographic process. This PR-patterned substrate have been dipped into a SWCNT solution dispersed in dichlorobenzene (DCB). These PR patterns have been removed by using aceton. As a result, a selectively-assembled SWCNT channels in FET arrays have been obtained between source and drain electrodes. Finally, we have successfully fabricated 4 FET arrays based on SWCNT-channels by using our simple self-assembly technique.

  • The squat is an exercise that can effectively improve the muscle strength of the lower body, which can be performed in a variety of places without restrictions on places including homes. However, injuries due to incorrect motion or excessive angles are frequently occurring. In this study, we developed a single sensor-based squat angle measurement system that can inform the squat angle according to the correct motion during the squat exercise. The sensor module, including the acceleration sensor and the gyro sensor, is attached to the user's thigh. The squat angle was calculated using the complementary filter complementing the pros and cons of acceleration and gyro sensor. It was found that the calculated squat angle showed the proper correlation compared to the squat angle measured by a goniometer, and the influence of the coefficient of the complementary filter on the accuracy was evaluated.

  • A new robust sliding mode controller is formulated for the tip position control of a single-link flexible manipulator with parameter variations. After establishing the plant model characterized by a noncollocated uncertain control system, a sliding surface which guarantees stable sliding mode motion is synthesized in an optimal manner. The surface is then modified to adapt arbitrarily given initial conditions. A discontinuous control law associated with the modified surface is designed by restricting that velocity state variables are not available from direct sensor measurements. Using the proposed control law favorable system responses are accomplished through shortening the reaching phase of state trajectory without increasing maximum control torque as well as undesirable chattering. Furthermore, a low sensitiveness to uncertainties is obtained from inherent salient properties of the proposed control system. Computer simulations are undertaken in order to demonstrate these superior control performance characteristics to be accrued from the proposed methodology.

  • This paper presents the automatic plumbness measuring system form improving the accuracy and working time for plumbness measuring of semi-umbrella type hydraulic turbine generator. It is general practice that rotating shaft should run within acceptable vibration limit. In order to obtain more accurate measuring data for single stage shaft on the semi-umbrella type, plumbness approach must be established carefully and accurately. Generally, present plumbness procedure is required several calculation algorithm, laser sensor and data acquisition devices. As a result of application to actual new system it is confirmed that working time could be saved over 80% and accurate measurement data could be acquired.

  • Considering the various user height, we develop a low-cost multimedia electronic podium system for height adjustment. In order to recognize the user utilizes height of a single CCD camera and the ultrasonic sensor. It estimates the height from the user of the image obtained by the CCD camera. Also it uses renal region division method from the image recognition in order to effectively estimated. According to the estimated height, we implemented the control system for the height control of the electronic podium.

  • LADARs are used for important sensors in various applications, for example, terrain information sensors in self driving cars, safety sensors for factory automation, and 3D map constructions. This study develop important component technologies to improve the performance of a LADAR system under development in Korea. The component technologies include diode temperature regulation, reducing distance error in outdoor environment, and signal processing technique for better detection of distant objects. This paper explains the suggested component technologies and experimental results of the developed LADAR system. Also, the developed system is operated and tested an a single axis driving platform to acquire 3D information from 2D LADAR.

  • This work describes a design and implementation of the level & flow rate control system by using a single-chip microcontroller. The proposed model system is designed based on the use of the single-chip microcontroller 8031 with the EPROM emulator for programming the computer software. The microcontroller reaches the input level and flow signals from the level sensor and the turbine flowmeter, respectively, via the signal conditioning circuits and A/D converters in order to calculate the control signal. Moreover, the status of the process variable can easily be set up and controlled by program monitoring through the emulator, and can be graphically displayed on the computer screen.   • In this paper, an Embedded solution for fast navigation and precise positioning of mobile robots by floor features is introduced. Most of navigation systems tend to require high-performance computing unit and high quality sensor data. They can produce high accuracy navigation systems but have limited application due to their high cost. The introduced navigation system is designed to be a low cost solution for a wide range of applications such as toys, mobile service robots and education. The key design idea of the system is a simple localization approach using line features of the floor and delayed localization strategy using topological map. It differs from typical navigation approaches which usually use Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) technique with high latency localization. This navigation system is implemented on single board Raspberry Pi B+ computer which has 1.4 GHz processor and Redone mobile robot which has maximum speed of 1.1 m/s.
