The mobile phone and wireless network, location based technology and other newly introduced technologies and communication media gave birth to the new terminology "ubiquitous" and are changing our daily life. Influence of such technologies and communication media is not an exception in the arts. New media art pieces using these technologies are increasing, and taking on the characteristics of public art within a wider scope of a city as a backdrop, beyond the traditional boundaries of art galleries. Of such art, locative media art using locative media has a closer relationship with city space than any other form of an, and makes various attempts to allow the spectator to reinterpret and experience city space and induce communication. These characteristics of locative media art can be considered as a method that can solve quality problems of the city space, especially the loss of the sense of place and the absence of communication. is one such locative media project with a purpose of solving quality problems of city space, especially the recovery of commercial sites and inducing communication. This project uses the paths of the city as its canvas, movement of people as its brush, the color of the roads as its pallet, and by allowing the partakers to draw paths of their own and to share their paths with others. People are encouraged to share stories about their paths. The project proceeds using barcodes that are frequently used commercially. When users wish to create their own place, they can enter their place and colors of their choice using input devices installed in the city space. Paths that are created through such a process will be displayed in public areas throughout the city, shared with others, and can create and share a stories about the city using on/off-line media.

This study presents a model for educational planning based on user participatory design for the purposes of curriculum development and educational space innovation. It reviewed previous research and practices related to educational space innovation, educational planning processes, and user participation design and suggested a draft model. This model was applied in the renovation project of an elementary school, and the problems encountered during the application were reflected upon and used to improve the model. The final model comprises four phases. Phase 1 is an initial exploratory phase foruser participation, where educational planners and users form a shared perspective regarding the future of education. Phase 2 is a needs-analysis phase for the transition to future education, which focuses on setting the overall direction of the school-level curriculum. Phase 3 specifies the direction of future school curricula and identifies needs for educational spaces. Finally, Phase 4 focuses on the interaction between educational and space planners. Based on the above discussion, the study discussed the benefits and limitations of this educational planning model for school space innovation.
PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) is an optimization algorithm in which simple particles search an optimal solution using shared information acquired through their own experiences. PSO applications are so numerous and diverse. Lots of researches have been made mainly on the parameter settings, topology, particle's movement in order to achieve fast convergence to proper regions of search space for optimization. In standard PSO, since each particle uses only information of its and best neighbor, swarm does not explore diverse regions and intended to premature to local optima. In this paper, we propose a new particle's movement strategy in order to explore diverse regions of search space. The strategy is that each particle moves according to relative weights of several better neighbors. The strategy of exploring diverse regions is effective and produces less local optimizations and accelerating of the optimization speed and higher success rates than standard PSO. Also, in order to raise success rates, we propose a strategy for checking whether swarm falls into local optimum. The new PSO algorithm with these two strategies shows the improvement in the search speed and success rate in the test of benchmark functions.
This paper aims to study international political orders and aviational orders since the second World War, to investigate the influences between the two orders, to connect them with the air transportation service agreement between Korea and USA, and to prospect international aviation orders in the future. The first international aviation order after the second World War is built up by international public goods under hegemonic stability theory in the realistic international order. Second order is a kind of cooperation system through the international institutions under the neo-liberalistic international order from the late of 1970s. Third order is the multiple cooperation through the shared epistemology, understanding, and knowledge under the international social constructivism from the 1990s. This paper prospects that international aviation order in the future will be developed through the multiple channels for the civilian users' conveniences and the openness for the users.
The cultural tendency based on sharing and cooperation, which has recently been a hot issue, accelerates throughout the world. This study began with a perception that a sharing culture is inherent in urban public spaces. This study aims to conduct a theoretical study of the sharing culture and to analyze the characteristics of the design composition of public spaces. This study selected squares in 16 European cities as cases for analysis. The results are summarized as follows:1)To analyze the design characteristics of public spaces in which a sharing culture is inherent, this study drew the shape and type of planes and sharing elements such as accessibility, symbolism and activity with the squares in the cases. 2)The shape of planes in the squares in the cases has been formed in close relations with the historic meaning and events of the area and the process of the construction of buildings surrounding the square. The squares in the cases were classified into seven plane types, and these squares have developmentally contributed to the formation of a sharing culture as a place for free participation and communication concerning social issues. 3)In the squares in the cases, the weight of road-centered access appears high, and in terms of the construction of human-friendly / environment-friendly infrastructure in the city or judging from the trend of the recent increase of pedestrian-centered plans for public space, it is judged that approaches with a high utilization rate of sidewalk or public transportation would be desirable. 4)Symbolic elements of the square become a device by which citizens can share the historic symbolism, along with artistic inspiration. In addition, by serving as an observatory from which people can take a view of the landscape of the city, it allows visual sharing of the entire city as well as the square. 5)A square is common pool resources in the community, and it is necessary to vitalize that in a direction of increasing the possibility of sharing, through the characteristics and methods of the composition of public design.
Research should explore techniques that will allow disposal of the dead to help the living by providing public space, protecting the environment, and contributing to economic development. Its design might bring a cemetery back into community life and make a present of a park. This new design for a cemetery can provide a structural solution for limited burial sites on the metropolitan area of Korea. It is based on the shared sense of a cemetery, a joint ownership or co-ownership of the space of a cemetery. FBS model by Gero[1] is used for engineering a cemetery design development. This framework contains a dynamic character of the context where such design takes place among its function, behavior and structure. This study suggests a new cemetery concept rather than a simple civil engineering work for a cemetery. It aims for people to have a new perspective on a cemetery and contribute to the society through an eco-friendly business model, so FBS may be an adequate model for such design. It can be one of the innovative business models and designs for engineering cemeteries, implementing sustainable environment and changing the design from a cemetery to a natural park.
On top of presenting the possibility of expanding the game space to social space through mobile communication, MSNG reinforces the strengths of SNS and the fun of games through closer networks between users. This study empirically verified the effects of the characteristics of MSNG on interactions and user satisfaction by dividing the main characteristics of MSNG into graphics, challenge spirit, and reward, and then dividing the main characteristics of mobile social network service into social interaction and technical interaction. In the results of study, the main characteristics of MSNG such as graphics, challenge spirit, and reward all had significant effects on the social interaction and technical interaction while the social interaction and technical interaction of MSNG also had significant effects on the user satisfaction, so that the hypotheses of this study were all selected. The influence of the characteristics of MSNG on interactions might be because of shared feedbacks through graphics, game tasks, and reward in the performance process of MSNG, and such interactions make diverse people have the horizontal or circular communication, which is led to the increase of user satisfaction.
Regarding leisure and work as very important in residential life of old ages, this study analyzed their preference by leisure and work for senior congregate housing, which can provide proper work and leisure activities for older people who are able to manage their social activities with healthy condition. It conducted a survey of middle aged of the 50's who would face problems of senior housing in 2010, with stratified sampling by region, sex and housing structure type. Totally 556 Questionnaires were used for the final analysis. The research results showed that, first, the group which was positive toward their works mostly had spouse of the age of early 50' s and work for professional, technological, managerial positions with good health. Second, the more positive group towards their work showed high willingness to move in senior congregate housing, than a negative group towards their work, and put a weight on the openness of shared space and facilities as well as various alarming equipments, common space, common programs and the ability of managers. Third, according to the attitudes toward leisure activities, there were differences in each group by housing structure type, education of their own or their spouses, monthly income, property, economic ability, health condition, living together with spouse, housing tenureship, and usable area of houses. The fourth was that those who enjoy active leisure activities presented high willingness to move in senior congregate housing than those of negative attitude and also there was a difference in managerial ways. Throughout the results of the study, it appeared that a group of positive attitude toward work and leisure, than that of negative attitude, recognized the importance of senior congregate housing which social and leisure programs could support. It implied necessary to develop housing for the older people who have enough ability to manage their leisure activity as well as their work. The study is likely to have a contribution to suggest practical data for helping the development of housing for self-reliant seniors by analyzing their preference on senior congregate housing by their attitudes toward work. The research for the factors of various designs and managements by leisure and work may become the following research theme of the study.
Through 16-17th century, Neo-Confucianism was accepted and extended to Chosun Dynasty. The architecture of the Taegae school made buildings of Yongnam area rich by adding the regional characteristics based on Taegae's thought of architecture. The following is the architectural characteristics of the academic clique around Sangju. Transformation such as separation and combination of the Jeongsa space by function, lifted floor type reflecting local feature or high platform was appeared, and the architectural characteristics of the Taegae school, that is, a small scale, a moderate figure, a type of side-attached floor, landscape, were still maintained at the same time. The characteristics of the Taegae school and regional figure of Sangju were well joined. The upper class houses, Seodang, Jeongsa and Seowon, built by Confucianist had shared common Confucian characteristics in spite of their different purposes. The world view of the Confucianism such as sacrifice for sages, cultivation, devoting for study, teaching disciples, and education for villagers was revealed through the Confucian architecture including dwelling houses during the 16-17th century. Buildings of Confucianist were focused on the space for men. Seoae and Kyumam built two different Jeongsa's inside and outside of the boundary of the nakdong river. While Seodang and Jeongsa located outside of the boundary of the river were built excluding spaces for living, the function of the Jeongsa located inside of the boundary of the river was assimilated by Sarangcahe. However, both buildings kept the function for cultivation, devoting for study and teaching.

Health management system of airborne software repairs runtime errors to provide safety and to reduce cost of maintenance. It is critical to on-the-fly repair order violation errors, because it is difficult to identify them at the development phase. Previous work, called Repairing Atomicity Violations (Repairing-AV) diagnoses order violations for each access event by comparing execution order of accesses. As a result, Repairing-AV has time overhead that is proportional to the number of access events to shared variable. This paper presents a tool called On-the-fly Repairing System (ORS) that can repair order violations of object methods containing access events. The ORS diagnoses order violations by using correct order of object methods, and treats them by stalling its thread where the error is about to occur. Experimentation with five synthetic programs shows that ORS is more efficient than Repairing-AV when the number of access events is greater than sixty.
