  • 온실내 재배면적을 최대한 확보하기위해서 2단으로 베드를 설치할 경우 하단부의 생육환경은 상단부와 많은 차이를 보일 것으로 예상된다. 특히 광환경은 매우 열악할 것으로 예상되지만, 호음성식물(Shade plant)의 경우 광포화점이(400$\mu$mol$^{-l}$ m$^{-2}$ ) 비교적 낮기 때문에 재배가 가능할 것으로 판단된다. (중략)

  • A field experiment was conducted to examine the growth of one and two year old American ginseng (Panax guinguefolium L.) in the arid interior of British Columbia, Canada. For both years of plants, early season growth was characterized by rapid stem and leaf dry matter production. Root growth commenced in early June and continued until early September. One year old roots had a dry weight of 0.1 to 0.2g at the end of the growing season. The two years old roots commenced the growing season at 0.Is and increased in dry matter by a factor of ten-fold. Dry to fresh weight ratios for both years were similar for root, leaf and stem samples at the end of the growing season. Leaf area index for both years showed similarities in progression over the growing season. As a consequence of the effectiveness of the microclimate modification employed to permit American ginseng cultivation (elevated shade cloth and surface mulch), plant growth and development was extremely good. This indicates the potential for the cultivation of American ginseng in dryland environments.

  • Tea plant has been mllainly grown in shade aild wet flace of several temple surroundings for a long years in sourthern area of Korea, since it has been introduced about1,000 years ago In those rlaces, it has been mostly grown in semi-wild, but recentlycultivated in a part of Bosung-gun, Cheonnanl province. External forms of tea plantwere considered that those have a little changed according to geographic andclimatic conditions of growing places. To investigate how is the variation of teaplant by the difference of environment conditions under growing places, we had ex-amined the protein and isozyme patterns of seeds of tea plant. In spite of difference ofgeographic and climatic conditions, the patterns of catalase, esterase, acid phosphat-ase isozyme and protein showed the same aspects.

Improvement of Shade Structures for Ginseng Cultivation

  • Purpose: Using agricultural machinery was not easy in the conventional shading structure, specified as a standard facility by standard cultivation methods for ginseng. Thus, this study designed the new types of facility allowing machine access by modifying the conventional type. Methods: Two types of facility (i.e. wide roof type and long & short roof type) were designed and installed in an experimental site to evaluate its growing environments and applicability of riding-type cultivator. Results: From the results of incoming light measurement, all three types (i.e. two new types and a conventional type) of shading structures blocked the incoming light after 9:00 am. The temperature distribution inside the new types was similar with the one in the conventional type, so the growth of ginseng was in good condition in all three types of facility. The riding-type cultivator was operated well with the low speed first gear of 0.13 m/s in the new types. However, a long & short typed roof needs to be raised 18 cm height in order to use the cultivator. Conclusions: With the results of this study, the new types of roof can be used in the ginseng farm in that they satisfied the growing environments for ginseng and the needs for agricultural mechanization.

인삼재배를 위한 차광조건이 인삼의 생육과 토양 중 Procymidone의 잔류에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Coverings on the Growth of Ginseng and the Persistency of Procymidone in Growing Soils)

  • 본 실험에서는 음지식물인 인삼의 재배에 필요한 차광조건이 토양 중 Procymidone의 잔류성에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 이를 위해서 몇 가지 차광재료들을 사용하여 여러 가지 차광조건을 만들고서, 각 차광조건에서의 토양 중 Procymidone의 잔류성을 조사하였다. 여러 차광재료들을 인삼포장에 가설하여 만든 다양한 차광조건하에서 토양 중 Procymidone의 반감기는 차광재료에 따라 큰 차이를 보였으며, 혼합일복 (161일)>유리 (76일)>청색차광망 (39일)$\simeq$흑색차광망 (36일)>볏짚일복 (21일)>노지 (7일) 순이었고, 이러한 토양 중 잔류성의 변화는 각 차광재료들의 누수율과 깊은 관련이 있는 것으로 해석할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과로부터 인삼재배를 위한 차광시설의 존재는 토양 중 Procymidone의 잔류성을 현저하게 증가시킨다는 사실을 알 수 있으며 농약의 토양 중 잔류성을 감소시키는 측면에서만 고려할 때, 강우시 가능한한 누수율을 증대시키는 차광재료들을 사용함이 바람직하다고 생각된다. 토양 중 Prorymidone의 잔류반감기는 차팡재료들에 따라 큰 차이를 보였으며, 이는 각 차광재료들의 누수율과 깊은 관련이 있는 것으로 해석할 수 있었다.

  • Experiments were conducted to investigate propagation, shade tolerance, cold resistance and growth rate of evergreen ground cover plants ; Vinca minor K , Ajuga reptans L., Ophiopogon japonicus ker. f nanus hort , and Hedera helix.. The results were as follows : 1.It is convenient to use the growing case for rice seed to grow and transplant Vinca minor seed-ling. The most proper density of transplanting Vinea was 180 plants per 1m$^2$. At the end of growing season, the coverage came up to 90% The rooting ability of Hedera helix was best to cut from April to May (temperature 15~23˚C). The seedling length of Parthenocissus quinguefohlia were irregular and ranged from 5 cm of 200cm. 2. Ajuga reptans L., Ophiopogon j. and Vinca minor L. grew better under 50% light intensity than full sunlight. Particularly, under full sunlight and aestival high temperature, there were a few withering plants in Ajuga reptans L. , and V Vilica minor L. 3. Of Vinca minor K., Ajuga reptans L. , Ophiopogon japonicus ker. f. nanus hort. and Hedera helix. acclimatized in open field, where temperature was from -7~8˚C. There were few plants had damage in low temperature incubator to -16˚C after field acclimatization. 4.Tendrils of Parthenocissus quinguefolia strongly clung to the wire netting stone fence but intruded into the gap and cranny of the precast concrete fence and so clung to, so that it needed to install the bending net on the precast concrete fence.

Effects of seed sources and shade on vigor of Brant's oak seedling

  • The use of local seed provenance is often recommended in forest restoration. Early vigor is a combination of the performance of seed germination and emergence after planting. The ability of young Brant's oak plants to grow and develop after emergence and its dependence on local habitat conditions was investigated in this study. The effects of seed source and shade on early growing seedlings of Brant's oak (Quercus brantii L.) were determined in field measurements. Seeds of Quercus brantii L. were collected from 4 forest areas (seed sources) in southern Zagros (Provinces of Kohkilouyeh-Bouyer Ahmad and Fars) at altitudes of 850, 1,100, 1,500, 2,100 m a.s.l., and planted in a nursery constructed in southwestern Iran. According to a split-plot design consisting of four blocks, each containing two main treatment plots (no shading, partial shading), each main plot was sub-divided into four sub-plots (for elevations of 850, 1,100, 1,500 and 2,100 m). Results showed that shade treatments had significant effects on emergence percentage and rate, shoot length, shoot dry weight (SDW), root dry weight (RDW), leaf area (LA), and chlorophyll content. Ecological factors also had an effect on seed performance. Altitude of seed source had a very significant effect on root length, LA, SDW, and RDW. The seeds collected from 850 m a.s.l. elevation showed the highest performance, especially in leaf area, root length, shoot dry weight, and root dry weight. Our results showed that the altitude of 850 m a.s.l. was the best for collecting Brant's oak seeds.

피음처리를 실시한 3개 활엽수종의 광합성과 생장 특성 (Photosynthetic Responses and Growth Performances in the Three Deciduous Hardwood Species Under Different Shade Treatments)

  • 본 연구는 인위적인 피음처리 수준을 4단계(상대 투광율; 100%, 54~65%, 26~37%, 8~13%)로 조절한 생육환경 하에서 생장시킨 튜울립나무, 거제수나무, 까치박달나무를 대상으로 광합성과 생장 특성을 조사 비교하였다. 튜울립나무와 거제수나무의 광합성률은 전광 처리구에서 13.59, $16.29{\mu}mol\;CO_2{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$로서 가장 높게 나타났으며 피음처리 수준이 높아질수록 낮은 광합성 능력, 생장 및 물질생산량을 보였다. 까치박달나무는 보통피음 처리구(26~37%)에서 광합성률이 $9.47{\mu}mol\;CO_2{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}$으로 가장 높았으며, 생장과 물질생산량도 가장 많았다.

  • 인삼은 한국, 일본, 소련, 북미에서 재배되고 있다. 이들 생산지역의 미세기상을 각각 조사해 보면, 인삼의 생육에 필요한 필수조건을 갖고 잇으며 각 지역에 따라 미세기상은 다른 방법으로 조절되고 있다, 한국, 중국에서의 최근연구자료를 비교해 보면 인삼생산에 맞는 여러가지 미세기상 조건들을 구명 할 수 있을 것이며, 여러가지 해가림 재료에 따른 일광차단에 관한 연구도 미세기상 조건구명의 한가지 방법이 되고 있다. 북미에서는 나무와 polypropylene 해가림 재료가 사용되지만, 중국에서는 마른 풀을 엮은 이엉사이에 polyvinylchloride film을 넣어 해가림을 한다. 이러한 해가림 재료들이 인삼생육과 수량에 미치는 효과는 뿌리생육에 있는 것 같으며, 생육기간 중 대부분 뿌리의 생육 적온에 미치지 못하고 있다. 년근별 생육자료를 분석해 보면, 근권의 토양온도가 지상부와 뿌리의 건물 분배에 미치는 효과를 구명하는데 유용할 것이다.

  • This experiment was carried out to determine the effects of nitrogen(N) fertilizer levels (0, 120, 240 and 360kg $ha^{-1}Y^{-1}$ Y-') on seasonal grass growth, dry matter (DM) yield and botanical composition in pasture under shade condition. Investigation date was on 7 , 14, 21, 28 and 35 days after harvesting in spring (May), summer (July) and autumn (Sept.), 1988, respectively. Shade degree was controlled artificially ca. 45-50%, and each annual level of N was distributed 5 times equally. Grass growth and DM productivity were most vigorous in spring. Higher DM yield was produced with N 240 kg spring, and Nl2Okg in summer and autumn. Higher significant relationships, in spring, were found between grass height and DM, and N level and DM yield. However, low relationships were observed between those in summer and autumn. In botanical composition, grass coverage was decreased in summer and autumn, and bareland was increased, especially in higher N plots. Based on the results, it is suggested that 200kg $ha^{-1}$ of N in this experiment is more effective for forage production and pasture persistence. Also a littie more amount of N (50-70kg $time^{-1}$) in spring, and low level of N (20-30kg $time^{-1}$) in summer and autumn may be desirable.
