  • On social media, companies create brand experiences while customers actively seek, consume, and generate brand-related content. Customer engagement plays a vital role in the marketing performance of social media-driven brands. This study explores the positive relationship between brand authenticity, aligning brand identity with image, and self-brand connection, aligning brand identity with consumers' self-concepts, on customer engagement and its subsequent impact on brand loyalty. The study surveyed 243 consumers engaged with brand-related social media content, validating hypotheses using structural equation modeling. Results confirmed that brand authenticity and self-brand connection positively affect customer engagement, which, in turn, boosts brand loyalty. These findings highlight the importance of companies enhancing brand authenticity and self-brand connection to drive customer engagement, with theoretical and practical implications provided.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between association of a company's CSV activity and association of corporative competence and consumers' self-brand connection. The study examine how consumer self-brand connection affect self-identification and corporate identification as well as how these factors influenced on brand loyalty. The paper attempts to examine authenticity of CSV activity and product plays a moderating role when association of CSV and authenticity of product affects self-brand connection. a total of 700 consumers who have experience with the target company and products. A target company was selected by investigates. The company is one manufactures as well as implements CSV activities as a means of ethical management. The results indicated that CSV association and corporative competence are closely related to the self-brand connection. Such attitude in turn affected the consumers' formation of self-and corporate-identification and brand loyalty. Authenticity of CSV activity and product was proven to play a moderating variables for brand loyalty and perception of company.

The Relationship Between Brand Anthropomorphism, Brand Love, and Brand Advocacy. Moderate Role of Self-brand Connection in Brand Distribution

  • Purpose: The article focuses on studying the impact of brand anthropomorphism, and brand love, on brand advocacy, and at the same time the moderate role of brand self-connection in the process of customers' perception of the brand, especially the brand distribution. The survey subjects are customers with millennial consumers in Ho Chi Minh City, who have the behavior of buying brands in the smart mobile device industry many times with a specific brand in terms of brand distribution. Results: The findings show that Brand anthropomorphism and brand love are crucial factors to impact brand advocacy and the role of self-brand connection also is a confirmed positive effect on the relationship between brand anthropomorphism and brand love. Research design, data, and methodology: The article uses quantitative research to test the model and research hypotheses. The way to collect quantitative data is to use questionnaires with 1531 samples in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Conclusion: The research results can help businesses build a long-term brand strategy and expect to get new rewards and value from customers. They can also add to the theory about the relationship between brands and customers.

Effect of Chinese Consumers' Ethnocentrism and Cultural Affinity on Purchase Intentions for Local Fashion Brands in the Context of "Guochao" Consumption

  • This study developed a structural model to examine the relationships among consumer traits, self-brand connections, and purchase intentions for local fashion brands under "Guochao" consumption in China. An online survey with a self-administered questionnaire was undertaken through Chinese SNS tools to collect the data. A total of 276 usable responses were obtained from Chinese consumers who are residents in China. More females(n=174, +63%) than males (n=102, 37%) participated, and they were aged from 18 to 45 years old. The measurement model was confirmed to be reliable and valid. In the estimated structural model, the consumer traits of ethnocentrism and cultural affinity positively affected the self-brand connection, leading to purchase intentions for the local fashion brands. Specifically, the ethnocentrism factor indirectly affected the purchase intentions by mediating the self-brand connection, while the cultural affinity factor had significant direct effects on purchase intentions. Thus, a partial mediating effect of self-brand connection was found in the relationship between the consumer traits(ethnocentrism and cultural affinity) and purchase intentions of local fashion brands in the cultural "Guochao" consumption context. This study provides insights into extending the cultural theory of ethnocentrism relevant to self-brand connections and discusses the managerial implications for developing strategic global branding in the Chinese fashion markets.

브랜드경험과 긍정적 감정이 소비자-브랜드관계에 미치는 영향 -스마트폰 브랜드를 중심으로 (The Influence of Brand Experience and Positive Emotion on Consumer-brand Relationship -Focusing on smartphone brand)

  • 본 연구는 소비자가 실제 제품이나 브랜드 사용 이외에 광고나 판매촉진 등 기업의 마케팅활동에 의해서도 브랜드를 경험할 수 있고 이러한 경험을 통하여 자아인식과 소비자-브랜드관계가 향상될 수 있음을 밝히고자 하였다. 총 248명을 대상으로 갤럭시S 스마트폰 브랜드에 대한 조작물로 브랜드를 경험하게 한 결과 브랜드경험 이후 긍정적 감정과 자아인식이 향상되었고, 긍정적 감정 또한 자아인식을 향상시킬 수 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 실제 브랜드를 이용하여 브랜드경험이 자아인식에 미치는 효과를 검증하였다는 점에서 중요하다. 또한 브랜드경험과 이를 통한 자아인식의 향상은 소비자-브랜드관계에 유의한 영향을 미치게 되며 궁극적으로 만족도, 추천의도 및 재구매 의도 등을 포함하는 브랜드 애호도까지 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 강력하고 매력적인 브랜드를 경험하는 것은 소비자에게 긍정적 감정의 형성이라는 혜택을 줄 수 있으며, 기업차원에는 소비자-브랜드관계를 통하여 구매의도 및 추가지불의도에까지 영향을 미칠 수 있는 관계를 밝혀낸 점이 주목할 만하다.

  • 이 연구는 기업연상의 유형을 기업능력연상과 사회적 책임연상으로 구분하고, 기업연상의 유형에 따라 기업과 연관되는 소비자의 자아 유형이 다르며, 기업과 소비자의 자아와의 연관성이 기업의 개별브랜드충성도에 영향을 미치는 과정을 분석하였다. 기업능력연상이 자신의 능력이나 개인적 성공의 관점에서 자신의 개인적 자아와 연관성을 형성하고, 기업의 사회적 책임연상은 다른 사람들의 시선에 관련된 소비자의 사회적 자아와의 연관성을 형성함을 탐색하고, 소비자의 개인적 자아 및 사회적 자아와의 연관성은 기업과의 동일시를 유도함을 분석하였다. 그리고 개인적 자아연관성은 기업의 개별브랜드 충성도에 직접적으로 긍정적인 영향을 주고, 또 동일시를 통하여 개별 브랜드의 충성도에 영향을 미침을 탐색하였다. 그런데 사회적 자아연관성은 직접적인 영향을 주지 않고 동일시를 통하여 개별 브랜드의 충성도에 영향을 미침을 탐색하였다.

패션 명품 소비자-브랜드 관계가 관계 만족과 브랜드 충성도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Consumer-Brand Relationship of Fashion Luxury Product on Brand Loyalty)

  • The purpose of this study were to examine the effect of consumer-brand relationship of fashion luxury product on brand loyalty and the mediating effect of consumer satisfaction. The questionnaire developed through the literature search and a survey was conducted both in on-line and off-line questionnaire simultaneously. Finally 227 data from women who had a buying experience of fashion luxury products were analyzed using frequency, factor analysis, ANOVA, t-test, regression analysis by SPSS for WIN program. The results were as follows. First, the consumers' brand identification was composed of three factors; self-connection, interdependence, attachment. Second, the consumer-brand relationship significantly influenced on the brand loyalty. Third, the consumer-brand relationship significantly influenced on the consumer satisfaction. Fourth, the consumer satisfaction significantly influenced on the brand loyalty. Fifth, the consumer-brand relationship had both direct and indirect effects on brand loyalty mediated by consumer satisfaction. The results indicated that causal relationship was existed among these three variables.

패션상품 소비자가 인식하는 상표관계본질(BRQ: Brand Relationship Quality) 규명 (제2보) (The BRQ(Brand Relation Quality) Construct Perceived by Fashion Product Consumers (Part 2))

  • The objective of this research is to validate the BRQ(Brand Relationship Quality) Construct perceived by fashion product consumers. In order to establish and verify the BRQ scale, qualitative survey and quantitative survey were conducted together. 1592 copies of questionnaire were distributed to women in their 20s to 40s living in Seoul and other metropolitan areas from Dec. 26, 2005 to Jan. 8, 2006, and 723 copies of them were used for statistical data. Samplel(n=482)was used for empirical analysis, and sample2(n=241) was used for cross validity test. The data was analyzed using Exploratory Factor Analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, and Pearson's Correlation Analysis. BRQ emerged from exploratory factor analysis as the hierarchical construct composed of six facets including 'self-connective attachment', 'symbol/mystery', 'trust', 'nostalgia', 'intimacy', and 'knowledge'. As the fit of this structural model was not good as a result of Confirmatory Factor Analysis, it was revised to have better fitting. Finally, empirical survey results indicate the hierarchical construct consisting of eight distinct BRQ facets including 'love/commitment', 'self-connection', 'symbol', 'mystery', 'trust', 'nostalgia', 'intimacy', and 'knowledge' as best representing the final 39item BRQ Scale. Reliability, construct validity, and cross validity of the construct were verified.

로열티 프로그램이 고객 참여와 소비자-브랜드 관계에 기초한 관계형 시장 행동에 미치는 영향 : 프랜차이즈 회원제 휘트니스클럽을 대상으로 (The Marketing Effect of Loyalty Program on Relational Market Behavior : Focusing in Franchise Membership Fitness Club)

  • 본 연구는 Sheth and Parvatiyar(1995)가 제시한 관계형 시장 행동의 가정과 정의에 대한 Bagozzi(1995), Peterson(1995)의 논평에 기초해 관계 마케팅 방식으로서 로열티 프로그램이 고객 참여와 소비자-브랜드 관계에 기초한 관계형 시장 행동에 미치는 영향을 실증해 보았다. 다음과 같이 연구 결과와 시사점을 정리한다. 첫째, 로열티 프로그램의 관계적 성과를 검증한 결과, 로열티 프로그램이 고객의 참여, 소비자-브랜드 관계, 관계형 시장 행동에 미치는 긍정적 효과를 실증하였다. 선행 연구에서의 주장과 일치하는 이러한 결과는 소비자와 기업이 마케팅 관계에 참여하려는 의지와 능력은 더 높은 마케팅 생산성을 낳는다는 Sheth and Parvatiyar(1995)의 제안 명제를 확인시켜 주고 있다. 둘째, 소비자-브랜드 관계의 매개효과 그리고 소비자-브랜드 관계의 구성 변수와 관계형 시장 행동의 구성 변수간 영향을 미치는 개별적인 인과 관계에 대해 일관된 결과를 보이지 않고 있다는 주장(Palmatier, Dant, Grewal and Evans, 2006)에 따라 다중 회귀분석으로 추가 분석을 실시한 결과, 소비자-브랜드 관계의 질적 특성을 이루는 여섯 개 항목들이 개별적으로 관계형 시장 행동에 영향을 미치는 회귀 모델의 설명력이 더 높다는 Breivik and Thorbjornsen(2008)의 연구결과를 지지하는 결과를 얻었다. 셋째, 고객의 참여를 활성화시킬 때 소비자-브랜드 관계 및 관계형 시장 행동이라는 관계 성과가 나타난다는 시사점을 제시하였다. 이는 관계 마케팅 활동과 고객 참여를 증가시키려는 노력이 소비자와의 관계 유지와 성과에 중요하다는 선행 연구의 주장 (Bitner, 1995, Fournier, 1994 ; Sheth and Parvatiyar, 1995)에서 뒷받침된다.

  • The objective of this research is to find out the BRQ(Brand Relationship Quality) construct perceived by fashion product consumers. BRQ, Fournier suggested in 1994, examines the depth and intensity of the enduring association formed by the pattern of interactions enjoining consumers and brands. As BRQ was supposed to reflect consumers' psychological process, qualitative research and literature review were conducted together. For qualitative research, two kinds of interviews were carried out in October and November 2005 to investigate consumers' cognitive, affective, and behavioral insight towards brands. One of them was in-depth interview with six people in different life situation. The other was focus group interview. Interviewees were asked to explain about two types of questions: (1) the brand name which interviewees had bought and (2) the description of interviewees' feeling and thought for the brand which the interviewees had bought assuming the brand was the person. All interviews were recorded and analyzed. Finally, it was proved that fashion product consumers had various kinds of relationship with brands, and BRQ facets including 'love', 'self-connection', 'nostalgia', 'intimacy', 'trust', 'commitment', 'symbol', and 'mystery' were identified.
