A comparative study of the dental health perception and dental health behaviors among 12,325 middle and high school students in urban and rural areas was conducted by using "2010 National Dental Health Investigation". The results of this study are as follows. For the dental health perception and the utilization of dental service, all middle and high school students had a low perception of the their dental health status toward the farming and fishing regions from the urban. For the time of tooth-brushing among the dental health behaviors, most middle and high school students brushed their teeth after lunch. In connection with the frequency of cariogenic snack intake, high school students had a greater percentage toward the farming and fishing regions from the urban. For the dental health status, middle school students in big cities had a high average of carious permanent teeth, but high school students had a high average of carious permanent teeth toward the farming and fishing regions from the urban. In other words, there was no significant difference in missing permanent teeth, filling permanent teeth and decay permanent teeth between middle school students by region, but high school students had a greater percentage of the dental health perception and dental health behaviors toward the farming and fishing regions from the urban, showing a little difference. Consequently, there was a relationship between middle and high school students' perception of dental health and their behaviors of dental health.
The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in internet use motivations and problem behaviors among vocational high school students according to internet addiction and family system type. Five hundred vocational high school students from Daegu took part in the survey. The questionnaire survey consisted of an internet addiction self-assessment scale, a family system type scale, an internet use motivation scale, and a problem behavior scale. The data was analysed using MANOVA and Cronbach a, and the $Scheff\acute{e}$ test was used for post-hoc analysis. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, the study found significant differences in adolescent internet use motivation according to internet addiction. Adolescents in the high dangerous user group showed higher communicative, experiential, and addictive motivations than adolescents in potentially dangerous and normal user groups. Also, there were no significant differences in informative motivation according to internet addiction. Regardless of internet addiction, adolescents tend to use the internet to search for information and to solve problems. Second, there were significant differences in adolescents' problem behaviors according to internet addiction. More specifically, adolescents who were in the high dangerous user group displayed more problem behaviors toward their body, family, school, and society than adolescents in the potentially dangerous and the normal user groups. Third, an adolescent's family system type significantly influenced his/her internet use motivation. Adolescents from an extreme family showed higher communicative and addictive motivations than adolescents from middle and balanced families. Fourth, there were significant differences in the problem behaviors of adolescents according to family system types. Adolescents from an extreme family showed more problem behaviors toward their body, family, school, and society than adolescents from middle and balanced families.

Because a variety of factors affects children in the development process in order to act practice of life safety behaviors aggressively, this study examined the relationships among academic stress, self-esteem and practice of life safety behaviors of school-age children. Data was collected through a self reported structured questionnaire from 510 Korean school-age children using convenient sampling methods from April 1 to 30, 2013. Stepwise multiple regression revealed the Help of safety education (${\beta}=.254$, p<.001), academic stress (${\beta}=-.222$, p<.001), grade(${\beta}=.201$, p<.001), gender(${\beta}=-.180$, p<.001) to be significant predictors of practice of life safety behaviors of school-age children. These variables accounted for 23.9% of practice of life safety behaviors. Therefore, to facilitate the practice life safety behaviors in school-age children, academic stress needs to be decreased by efficient management and intervention.
Aim of this study is to investigate the nutrition knowledge, dietary behaviors, and dietary habits by the gender in high school students in Chungnam province. Girls students had a higher score than boys students for nutritional knowledge, not in the significant difference. However, boys students had a higher score for dietary behaviors than girls students. Dietary habits showed a significant difference in the unbalanced food habit and eating speed by the gender, and the eating speed of boys students was faster than that of girls students. For boys students, the nutritional knowledge and dietary behaviors did not have the significant correlation. Otherwise, girls students had the positive correlation between the nutritional knowledge and dietary behaviors, and had the characteristics of behaviors that the higher the nutritional knowledge score, the better eating habit. In addition, the boys and girls students had the positive correlation between the score of nutritional knowledge and the frequency of breakfast, and the score of nutritional knowledge and the frequency/regularity of breakfast, respectively. Because some dietary habits/behaviors are related closely to their nutritional knowledge, the high school students need the systematic and steady nutritional education to apply their known nutritional knowledge to actual life.

The purposes of this study are to do surveys of the state of health and dental health behaviors of higher grade students in elementary school and their mothers, to investigate the relationship of students' dental health, and to apply those results to the systematic and efficient dental health care. The subjects were totally 618 people, including 309 elementary school students in 4th, 5th, or 6th grades and their mothers in Pusan. The questionnaires were used as instruments, which were made by the researcher and related with other preceeding studies. The content validity of the instruments was tested by two professors of nursing. Dental checking were conducted by an expert of dental sanitation, according to the standard of the World Health Organization. The period of collecting data was 20 months from October 20th to December 20th in 2000 and the collected data were analyzed by SAS program and classified as the real number, the percentage, the mean, the standard deviation, t-test, and F-test. In conclusion, there is no significant correlation between grades and treated or treatment-needed permanent teeth. There is the highest significant correlation between treated or treatment-needed permanent teeth and students' dental health behaviors. There is high significant correlation between mothers' dental health behaviors and students' dental health behaviors. Also, There is significant correlation between mothers' state of dental health and students' state of dental health. From the results of this study, the students' dental health behaviors are the most important variables in the students' state of dental health. But both boys(9.48) and girls(9.97) get the low marks on the total mark 15 about brushing, which can be self-controlled. Therefore, the developments of dental health guidance in education about dental health by mothers or the educational courses in schools, such as brushing educations by the experts, dental health education, brushing after lunch, or the various equipments in brushing, should be accomplished. Above all, behavior-centered education should be conducted instead of knowledge-centered education.
Objectives : To analyze differences in health behaviors among the social strata in Korea by using the 1995 National Health and Health Behavior Survey Data. Methods : Study Participants numbered 2,352 men and 1,016 women aged between 15-64 years old, with housewives, students and non-waged family workers excluded. Health behaviors in this study were defined according to the recommendations of the Alameda 7 study. The measure of health behaviors was based on the Health Practices Index(HPI; 0-5 range, with the exclusion of snacking between meals and regularly eating breakfast) developed by the Alameda County research. The significance of the relationship between social strata and HPI was assessed by considering the adjusted means from the multi-variate model. Results : For men, incidence rates of never having smoked, no/moderate use of alcohol, regular exercise, and regular 7-8 hours sleep per night were higher in the upper social strate. Meanwhile, for women, incidence rates of never having smoked, no/moderate use of alcohol, appropriate weight, regular exercise, and regular 7-8 hours sleep per night were higher in the upper strata. HPI varied significantly among social strata in both sexes (p<0.001), a result which held true when adjusted for age, education, income, social insurance type, marital status and region. Conclusions : Health behaviors assessed by Health Practices Index(HPI) varied significantly among social strata for both sexes. Therefore, the existing gap in health behaviors among social strata can be corrected more effectively by target oriented health promotional activities.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the salt-related dietary behaviors according to the stage of change model in middle school students from the Gyeongsangbuk-do area. Data were collected from, a total of 253 male and 210 female middle school students through. Self-reporting questionnaire. By stage of salt-related dietary behaviors, the 'Pre-contemplation stage' was comprised of 57.3%, the 'Contemplation stage' of 12.2%, the 'Preparation stage' of 7.4% and the 'Action stage' of 23.2% of students. There were significant differences in the stage of change according to the experience with salt-related nutrition education (p<0.05), wherein differences according to gender and parent's education were not observed. In the salt-related dietary behaviors, there were significant differences according to gender (p<0.05), pocket money (p<0.01), and the stage of change (p<0.001). Males had higher salt-related dietary behavior scores than females, while students who had more pocket money also had higher scores, and the action group had lower scores than the other groups. Among the 10 items of salt-related dietary behaviors, only 4 showed above the average score (2.92/5.00), including behaviors of liking kimchi, completely consuming snacks and instant foods, and drinking the broth of soups. The salt-related dietary score of males was higher than females, while the action group's score was lower than the other stages.

There will be differences between problem behaviors and personality problems based on sex. 2 There will be differences between problem behaviors and personality problems based on grade. 3. There will be differences between problem behaviors and personality problems based on stress level. 4. There will be differences between problem behaviors and personality problems based on a student's ability to cope with stress. 5. Upper level students under lower stress and lower level students under higher stress will have more problems behaviors and more personality problems. 300 male/female high school students throughout the Seoul area were randomly selected. Of the 300 subjects that were sampled, 294 (Male=145, Female=149) actually participated in this study. The Stress Scale developed by Lazarus & Folkman (1984) Problem Behavior Scale, Personality Problem Scale, and Checklist were used and the conclusions are stated as follows.
