초록갈파래(Umbraulva japonica)에서 분리한 세균의 군집 구조 분석 및 항균 활성 (Bacterial Community Analysis and Antibacterial Activity Isolated from Umbraulva japonica)

  • 본 연구에서는 해조류인 Umbraulva japonica의 표면에서 79개의 세균을 분리하였다. 16s rRNA 유전자 분석 결과, 주요 계통군은 Proteobacteria (74.69%), Actinobacteria (2.53%), Fimicute (2.53%), Bacteroidetes (20.25%)로 4개의 문(Phylum)이 관찰되었고, 7개의 강(Class), 13개의 목(Order), 17개의 과(Family), 31개의 속(Genus)을 확인하였다. 계통학적 분석 결과 3개의 균주가 표준균주와 97% 이하의 유사성을 보여 신속 또는 신종으로 보고될 가능성이 있다고 여겨지며, 향후 표준균주들과 함께 추가적인 신종 실험이 수행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다. 분리된 79 균주를 이용하여 인체 및 어류 병원균을 대상으로 항균 활성을 확인하였다. UJT7, UJT20, UJR17의 균체 현탁액이 Vibrio vulnificus에 대하여 항균 활성을 나타냈으며 UJR17의 균체 현탁액은 V. vulnificus와 Streptococcus parauberis에 항균 활성능이 있음을 확인하였다. UJT7은 Bacillus sp., UJT20과 UJR17은 Pseudomonas sp.로 확인되었으며 다양한 활용을 위한 추가적인 실험을 수행한 후 유익하게 이용 될 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

Simultaneous Removal of H2S, NH3 and Toluene in a Biofilter Packed with Zeocarbon Carrier

  • Simultaneous removal of $NH_3,\;H_2S$ and toluene in a contaminated air stream was investigated over 185 days in a biofilter packed with Zeocarbon granule as microbial support. In this study, multi-microorganisms including Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter for nitrogen removal, Thiobacillus thioparus (ATCC 23645) for $H_2S$ removal, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 15692), Pseudomonas putida (ATCC 17484) and Pseudomonas putida (ATCC 23973) for toluene removal were used simultaneously. The empty bed residence time (EBRT) was 40-120 seconds and the feed (inlet) concentrations of $NH_3,\;H_2S$ and toluene were 0.02-0.11, 0.05-0.23 and 0.15-0.21 ppmv, respectively. The observed removal efficiency was 85%-99% for $NH_3$, 100% for $H_2S$, and 20-90% for toluene, respectively. The maximum elimination capacities were 9.3, 20.6 and $17g/m^3/hr\;for\;NH_3,\;H_2S$ and toluene, respectively. The results of kinetic model analysis showed that there were no particular evidences of interactions or inhibitions among the microorganisms, and that the three bio degradation reactions took place independently within a finite area of biofilm developed on the surface of the Zeocarbon carrier.

  • This study is based on the observation of women's Jangui in 17th centuries. As we observed, Jangui in seventeenth century was shown the same style. They were not headdress but coat. The characteristics of shape are Mokpankit, double-seop, straight sleeve, triangle moo, sam-su(which is attached to the end of sleeves) and a little coat string etc. There is no specific mode difference with the change of times. However, the straight sleeve is shown straight line in the early Chosun dynasty. Jangui in seventeen century are all oblique line sleeve except Jangui of Jin-ju Ha's family. Jangui put on coat do not seem clear-cut difference with the change of times. From Jangui of Yang-chun Hu's family in 14th centuries till An-dong Kim's family, the special features of Jangui are the same style. In addition, The double-seop in 17th centuries was not completely symmetry. However, after 19th centuries, Jangui for headdress was shown perfectly symmetry.

배합사료 내 Spirulina 함량에 따른 비단잉어 홍백 치어의 체색 변화 (Influence of Spirulina Level in Diet on Skin Color of Red- and White-colored Fancy Carp Cyprinus carpio var. koi)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Spirulina level in the diet on growth and skin color of red- and white-colored fancy carp Cyprinus carpio var. koi at different feeding periods. Five experimental diets (designated as Con, S5, S9, S13 and S17) were prepared to contain 0, 5, 9, 13 and 17% Spirulina. Each experimental diet was fed to two replicate groups of fish (6.6 g/fish) to visual satiation three times a day for 12 weeks. Weight gain and feed efficiency of fish were not affected by dietary Spirulina level. The values of redness ($a^*$), lightness ($L^*$) and yellowness ($b^*$) of the fish skin were influenced by dietary Spirulina level at different feeding period. The $L^*$ value of skin in the fish fed S9, S13 and S17 diets tended to decrease with feeding period. The skin $a^*$ value of the fish increased significantly with feeding period and dietary Spirulina level. The skin $a^*$ value of the fish fed the diets containing 5-17% Spirulina was higher than that of fish fed control diet at 6 and 12 weeks of feeding. The skin $a^*$ value and total carotenoids of the fish fed the S17 diet was the highest among groups. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that dietary inclusion of Spirulina powder could increase the skin redness of red- and white-colored fancy carp.

도핑농도에 따른 다결정 3C-SiC 박막의 기계적 특성 (Mechanical properties of polycrystalline 3C-SiC thin films with various doping concentrations)

  • This paper describes the mechanical properties of poly(polycrystalline) 3C-SiC thin films with various doping concentration, in which poly 3C-SiC thin fil's mechanical properties according to the n-doping concentration 1($9.2{\times}10^{15}cm^{-3}$), 3($5.2{\times}10^{17}cm^{-3}$), and 5%($6.8{\times}10^{17}cm^{-3}$) respectively were measured by nano indentation. In the case of $9.2{\times}10^{15}cm^{-3}n$-doping concentration, Young's modulus and hardness were obtained as 270 and 30 GPa, respectively. When the surface roughness according to n-doping concentrations was investigated by AFM(atomic force microscope), the roughness of poly 3C-SiC thin films doped by 5% concentration was 15 nm, which is also the best of them.

실시간 정량 PCR을 통한 김치 유래 Weissella spp.에 의한 Listeria monocytogenes 생육 억제 (Growth Inhibition of Listeria monocytogenes by Weissella spp. from Kimchi Through Real-time PCR)

  • 본 연구에서는 김치로부터 W. cibaria 0D17와 W. confusa 0D23를 생화학적 특성 분석과 16s rRNA 염기서열 분석을 통해 분리, 동정하였으며, W. cibaria 0D17와 W. confusa 0D23 배양 상등액이 L. monocytogenes에 대한 항균 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 실시간 정량 PCR을 통해 W. cibaria 0D17 및 W. confusa 0D23가 L. monocytogenes를 공동 배양했을 때의 생육억제 효과를 분석한 결과, $37^{\circ}C$에서는 생육 억제 효과가 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 따라서, 김치 유래 Weissella spp.가 갖는 L. monocytogenes에 대한 항균 활성에 대한 기초 자료로 활용가능 할 것으로 판단되며, W. cibaria 0D17 및 W. confusa 0D23가 생산하는 bacteriocin 등의 항균 물질 특성에 대한 연구가 추가적으로 진행될 필요가 있을 것이다.

Mucosal Immunity Related to FOXP3+ Regulatory T Cells, Th17 Cells and Cytokines in Pediatric Inflammatory Bowel Disease

  • Background: We aimed to investigate mucosal immunity related to forkhead box P3 ($FOXP3^+$) regulatory T (Treg) cells, T helper 17 (Th17) cells and cytokines in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Methods: Mucosal tissues from terminal ileum and colon and serum samples were collected from twelve children with IBD and seven control children. Immunohistochemical staining was done using anti-human FOXP3 and anti-$ROR{\gamma}t$ antibodies. Serum levels of cytokines were analyzed using a multiplex assay covering interleukin $(IL)-1{\beta}$, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, IL-17A/F, IL-21, IL-22, IL-23, IL-25, IL-31, IL-33, interferon $(IFN)-{\gamma}$, soluble CD40L, and tumor necrosis factor-${\alpha}$. Results: $FOXP3^+$ Treg cells in the lamina propria (LP) of terminal ileum of patients with Crohn's disease were significantly (P < 0.05) higher than those in the healthy controls. $ROR{\gamma}t^+$ T cells of terminal ileum tended to be higher in Crohn's disease than those in the control. In the multiplex assay, serum concentrations (pg/mL) of IL-4 ($9.6{\pm}1.5$ vs. $12.7{\pm}3.0$), IL-21 ($14.9{\pm}1.5$ vs. $26.4{\pm}9.1$), IL-33 ($14.3{\pm}0.9$ vs. $19.1{\pm}5.3$), and $IFN-{\gamma}$ ($15.2{\pm}5.9$ vs. $50.2{\pm}42.4$) were significantly lower in Crohn's disease than those in the control group. However, serum concentration of IL-6 ($119.1{\pm}79.6$ vs. $52.9{\pm}39.1$) was higher in Crohn's disease than that in the control. Serum concentrations of IL-17A ($64.2{\pm}17.2$ vs. $28.3{\pm}10.0$) and IL-22 ($37.5{\pm}8.8$ vs. $27.2{\pm}3.7$) were significantly higher in ulcerative colitis than those in Crohn's disease. Conclusion: Mucosal immunity analysis showed increased $FOXP3^+$ T reg cells in the LP with Crohn's disease while Th17 cell polarizing and signature cytokines were decreased in the serum samples of Crohn's disease but increased in ulcerative colitis.

영국해상보험법상의 감항담보와 최대선의원칙에 관한 연구 -Star Sea호 사건판결을 중심으로- (A Study on the Warranty of Seaworthiness and the Principle of Utmost Good Faith in the Marine Insurance Act 1906 -With Judgement of the Star Sea Case-)

  • Section 39(5) of Marine Insurance Act 1906 concerns the case where with the privity of the assured, the ship is sent to sea in an unseaworthy state. The underwriters argue that the assured had"blind-eye knowledge" of the particular respect in which the ship was unseaworthy. Blind-eye knowledge requires a conscious reason for blinding the eye. There must be at least a suspicion of a truth about which one do not want to know and which one refuse to investigate. What has caused greater difficulty is the broad provision in s.17 which appears to be unlimited in its scope. The expression "utmost good faith" appears to derive from the idea of uberrimae fidei, words which indeed appear in the sidenote. The concept of uberrima fides does not appear to have derived from civil law and it has been regarded as unnecessary in civilian systems. S.17 raises many questions. But only two of them are critical to the decision of the present appeal-the fraudulent claim question and the litigation question. It is however necessary to discuss them in the context of a consideration of the problematic character of s.17. In the Star Sea Case, for the defendants to succeed in their defence under this part of the case the defendants have to show that claim was made fraudulently. They have failed to obtain a finding of fraud. It is not enough that until part of the way through the trial the owners failed to disclose to the defendants would have wished to see in order to provide them with some, albeit inadequate, evidential support for their alleged defence under s.39(5). The defence under s.17 fails. The Purpose of this work is to analyze the Star Sea Case, and to explore problems of the MIA relating to the judgement of this case.

여성 승마복의 남성복 아이템 도입에 관한 연구 (A study on the introduction of men's items in women's equestrian clothing)

  • By researching Western equestrian clothing, this study investigated the process in which styles of menswear are introduced into women's sportswear. In addition to women's equestrian clothing shown in paintings and illustrations kept in overseas museums, this study also analyzed books addressing 200 years of Western dress style history, from the late $17^{th}$ century to the $19^{th}$ century. The analysis data present the design characteristics of women's equestrian clothing according to different periods. A total of 21 works were used as research data: two from periods prior to the $17^{th}$ century, three from the $17^{th}$ century, ten from the $18^{th}$ century, and six from the $19^{th}$ century. The research results show that items of trendy menswear were commonly used in women's equestrian clothing during the late $17^{th}$ century - to be specific, in all forms of clothing worn on the upper body, including coat and cravat, tricomhat, and accessories. Women's equestrian clothing after the $18^{th}$ century took the form of menswear. However, the uniform was also generally worn with a fitted, tailored redingote on top of the robe, along with pants. In the $19^{th}$ century, women's equestrian clothing became longer in length, like men's styles. The uniform gradually lost volume, and the jacket became shorter and narrower. In addition, the drawers were replaced with pants that came down to the ankles, which were similar to men's trousers. Breeches also became knee - length, thus following the style of menswear. These results show that women's equestrian clothing, worn during horseback riding, a sport previously enjoyed by Western aristocrats, were similar to what men wore. Also, in contrast to the distinct differences seen between men's and women's daily clothing, the equestrian uniforms of women showed a tendency to follow the clothing style of men.
