  • For the past years, Korean Housing policy have been focused on quantity rather then quality, when they provide housing. Focusing great quantity on housing led monolithic and standardized house forms in limited area. Most of our traditional residental environment, which made Koreans to communicate with neighbors, disappeared from the result of providing great quantity on housing. However, the increase of the income and standard of living, changed people's view. People start to demand for the place which is commodious and comfortable to live. Moreover, more leisure time caused people to communicate with their neighbors. To meet the demands of new forms of housing, they started to provide a community space to increase sense of belonging and community spirit for the residents in apartment house. The forms of past house which is defined by uniformity is delivered from rational thoughts. People can get emotional satisfaction from Community space because it provides opportunity of communicating and increase community spirit. This research is to classify the emotional expression in Community space and analyze the elements that is expressed in community space of apartment house.

  • Skeptical responses to urban design based on the Physical Planning theory assuming the existence of social agreement and the absolute authorities of planners bring about alternatives such as Participatory Planning and Community Design derived from Harbermas' Communicative Rationality. But the normative contentions do not progress any more to the stage of presenting practical strategies. This is the cause why there should be systematic approaches to reveal the relationships among various concepts or variables. With regard to the Community Design this study intends to take a statistical approach to find relationship between project scale and its accomplishment. The hypothesis that the smaller scale of project begets the better outcomes was tested to be rejected as a result of the analysis of variance. But the result also shows that appropriate density in relatively large area makes residents' expected satisfaction high. Although this discovery has its own meaning the tryout is anticipated to laying the cornerstone of quantitative analyses in the following studies.

  • This study aims to analyze the regional variations in which appear during the formation process of educational community in rural villages from the perspective of regional innovation theory. The study results revealed that the activities to form an educational community of the Songak village significantly influenced the variations across the social, economic and environmental aspects beyond an innovation of public education within the region based on interrelation between schools and villages. In other words, the activities including interactions and group learnings have been actively promoted among the various relevant stakeholders, thereby resulting in a variety of positive variations such as expanded regional welfare base, activated voluntary residents community gatherings based on the unity and cooperation, broadened socioeconomic opportunities, satisfaction on educational and cultural desires, and construction of healthy ecological environment in the region. Therefore, it is thought that regional development policy suitable for each region needs to be established by embracing the fact that activities to form a village educational community entail significant implication and value as the comprehensive regional innovation activities across the entire domains in each region.

Consequently, first, when developing the program, the specialized library needs to develop programs in possession of unique characteristics specific to the areas of the differentiated themes from the cultural and educational programs run by the existing libraries. Second, it is necessary to focus on the specialized theme area information services for the users, and to this end, it is necessary to improve librarians 'professionalism. Third, it is necessary to secure the budget for the specialized services and secure space. Since the scope of the services which may be provided as per the budget intended for providing specialized services may be limited, it would be necessary to secure and operate the budget systematic to this end. • The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between housing types and crime and to suggest the appropriate strategies and interventions of housing policies for crime prevention. For spatial analysis of crime data, spatial autocorrelation is tested by Moran's I Test. A Ordinary Least Squares-based regression model is employed because crime data used in this study fails to show spatial autocorrelation. Results show that housing type variables except non-residential housing type are not associated with crime. Among land-use characteristics, the percentage of commercial areas is likely to better explain crime occurrence rather than housing types. It is surprising that residents' satisfaction to housing environment has a positive direction in its relationship with crime even though it cannot have a statistical significance. However, fear of crime shows a negative direction with crime although it fails to have a statistical significance. The findings of this study can contribute to understand the association between housing types and crime when setting housing policies for crime prevention.
