  • To provide an appropriate knowledge representation technique dependent on a particular domain, we consider the combine analytic hierachy process(CAHP). This is an extended method of the conventional AHP which is useful when two different expert groups are involved. Our problem domain is confined to human resource management including such major activities as planning, selection, placement, compensations, performance evaluation, training, and labor-management relations. We prioritize rules, frames, semantic nets, and predicate logic representation techniques best suited to each and all domains through an exploratory study.

  • Let $\mathbb{G}$ be a von Neumann algebraic locally compact quantum group, in the sense of Kustermans and Vaes. In this paper, as a consequence of a notion of amenability for actions of Lau algebras, we show that $\hat{\mathbb{G}}$, the dual of $\mathbb{G}$, is co-amenable if and only if there is a state $m{\in}L^{\infty}(\hat{\mathbb{G}})^*$ which is invariant under a left module action of $L^1(\mathbb{G})$ on $L^{\infty}(\hat{\mathbb{G}})^*$. This is the quantum group version of a result by Stokke [17]. We also characterize amenable action of Lau algebras by several properties such as fixed point property. This yields in particular, a fixed point characterization of amenable groups and H-amenable representation of groups.

  • We develop a framework to construct geometric representations of finite groups G through the correspondence between real toric spaces $X^{\mathbb{R}}$ and simplicial complexes with characteristic matrices. We give a combinatorial description of the G-module structure of the homology of $X^{\mathbb{R}}$. As applications, we make explicit computations of the Weyl group representations on the homology of real toric varieties associated to the Weyl chambers of type A and B, which show an interesting connection to the topology of posets. We also realize a certain kind of Foulkes representation geometrically as the homology of real toric varieties.

  • For 3-dimensional Bieberbach groups, we study the de-formation spaces in the group of isometries of $R^3$. First we calculate the discrete representation spaces and the automorphism groups. Then for each of these Bieberbach groups, we give complete descriptions of $Teichm\ddot{u}ller$ spaces, Chabauty spaces, and moduli spaces.

  • We calculate the R(G)-algebra structure on the reduced equivariant K-groups of two-dimensional spheres on which a compact Lie group G acts as a reflection. In particular, the reduced equivariant K-groups are trivial if G is abelian, which shows that the previous Y. Yang's calculation in [8] is incorrect.

  • Suppose that D is a $C^*$-discrete quantum group and $D_0$ a discrete quantum group associated with D. If there exists a continuous action of D on an operator algebra L(H) so that L(H) becomes a D-module algebra, and if the inner product on the Hilbert space H is D-invariant, there is a unique $C^*$-representation $\theta$ of D associated with the action. The fixed-point subspace under the action of D is a Von Neumann algebra, and furthermore, it is the commutant of $\theta$(D) in L(H).

  • It is tremendously important to construct decision trees to use as a tool for knowledge representation from a given decision table. However, the usual algorithms may split the decision table based on each value, which is not efficient for numerical attributes. The methodology of this paper is to split the given decision table into binary groups as like the CART algorithm, that uses binary split to work for both categorical and numerical attributes. The difference is that it uses split for each attribute established by the directed acyclic graph in a dynamic programming fashion whereas, the CART uses binary split among all considered attributes in a greedy fashion. The aim of this paper is to study the effect of binary splits in comparison with each value splits when building the decision trees. Such effect can be studied by comparing the number of nodes, local and global misclassification rate among the constructed decision trees based on three proposed algorithms.

  • Elliptic curve cryptosystems based on discrete logarithm problem in the group of points of an elliptic curve defined over a finite field. The discrete logarithm in an elliptic curve group appears to be more difficult than discrete logarithm problem in other groups while using the relatively small key size. An implementation of elliptic curve cryptosystems needs finite field arithmetic computation. Hence finite field arithmetic modules must require less hardware resources to archive high performance computation. In this paper, a new architecture of finite field multiplier using conversion scheme of normal basis representation into polynomial basis representation is discussed. Proposed architecture provides less resources and lower complexity than conventional bit serial multiplier using normal basis representation. This architecture has synthesized using synopsys FPGA express successfully.
