The Implementation of Remote Control for a Quadruped Robot (사족 보행로봇의 원격제어 구현)

  • This paper deals with the remote control of a quadruped robot by using network concept. In case we have to work out the designed plan under the irregular terrains and have the human friendly actions,. our robot will be required to have walking capability, and patterns with legs, which are designed like gaits of insert, dog and human. Our quadruped robot(called SERO) has not only the basic actions operated with sensors and actuators but also the various advanced walking trajectories, which are generated by Genetic Algorithm In addition, it has the remote controller in order to operate the remote actions such as generation of command via web browser and monitoring the robot status. In this paper the body and the controller structures are suggested and the results of kinematics analysis are also presented, All of the suggested motions of SERO are generated by PC simulation and implemented in real environment successfully.

  • This research examined the capabilities of KOMPSAT-1 EOC images for the application of urban environment, including the urban changes of the study areas. This research is constructed in three stages: Firstly, for the application of change detection techniques, which utilizes multi-temporal remotely sensed data, the data normalization process is carried out. Secondly, the change detection method is applied for the systematic monitoring of land-use changes. Lastly, using the results of the previous stages, the land-use map is updated. Consequently, the patterns of land-use changes are monitored by the proposed scheme. In this research, using the multi-temporal KOMPSAT-1 EOC images and land-use maps, monitoring of urban growth was carried out with the application of land-use changes, and the potential and scope of the application of the EOC images were also examined.

Reducing Standby Power Consumption System by Monitoring the AC Input Current for the AV Devices (AV 기기를 위한 AC 입력 전류 모니터링 대기 전력 저감 시스템)

  • This paper proposes a system for reducing the standby power consumption in using the consumer electronic devices such as a television, a home theater, a set-top box, or a DVD player. The system is consisted of a flyback converter, monitoring circuits, a relay and a micro-processor. The proposed system can reduce the standby power consumption by disconnecting the AC input and the consumer devices can be turned on with a remote control. The proposed standby power system consumes the low power to receive the infrared signal from the remote controller. Furthermore, a electronic double layer capacitor is used to store the energy with high efficiency. The proposed power system can operate the 플라이백 converter to charge the electronic double layer capacitor and connect the AC input to the consumer electronic devices. The proposed power circuit can reduce the standby power consumption in AV devices without increasing the cost. The prototype is implemented to verify the system with the commercialized products.

  • Recently, a request of protection environment for ocean has been increased. Owing to the reason above the development of highly efficient control technique for low pollution vessel diesel engine is concerned. In this paper, we study a method of remote diagnosis and monitoring for vessel diesel engine which is better safe and environmental friendly. Specially we propose the user interface building method of vessel diesel engine remote monitoring system using Internet.

  • In this paper, web based monitoring systems are implemented for multi-axis force control systems of an intelligence robot. A brief review about the principle of multi-axis force sensors and a method that can reduce the effect of noise signal to sensor performance is presented. A web based monitoring system is implemented by porting Linux at embedded systems which include Xscale processors. A device driver is developed to receive data from multi-axis force sensors in Linux operation systems. To control this device driver, a socket program for web browser is also developed. The experiments are performed to investigate the effectiveness of proposed methods. The experimental results show that the values of force sensors can be monitored by remote PCs.

  • A remote data communication system for monitoring of NC machine fault diagnosis and status is developed. This system communicates with host PC by using dial-up communication method on PSTN. The developed system consists of (1)remote communication module among NC's and host PC using PSTN, (2) 8 channels analog data sensing module, (3) digital I/O module for control of NC machine, (4) communication module between NC machine and remote data communication system using RS-232c, and (5) Software man-machine interface. This system may be applied for remote sensing of the status in Fms. To show the veridity of the developed system, several examples are illustrated.

  • A Multi-channel serial device using the embedded Linux system is designed for a remote controlling and monitoring system. The proposed device consists of a FIFO, a state machine, and an interrupter. The device program written in embedded Linux enables the effective programming of device. While the conventional multi-channel serial devices accesses every individual serial devices, the proposed device accesses the multi-channel serial device as if it is a single serial device. The device efficiently performs the multi-channel serial input/output operation and has fast access time than the conventional multi-channel serial device.

  • The purpose for installation of offshore weather station is a measurement of wind resources and so on. If weather station is operated, it will be possible to analysis for wind resource and arrangement of wind farm by using measured data. In this paper, we carried out the development of offshore wind resource measurement system for measuring offshore wind resource. Also, In order to monitor for real-time wind data with 1 Hz, we installed the wireless transmission system. All wind characteristic data are sent to the server PC through the this system is connected outport of DataLogger. Transmitted wind data were used in order to look at in the Web-page and tablet PC on a real time basis in a graph. In this paper, we will introduce about the wind resource measurement and remote monitoring system that is the result of study.
