  • The importance of railway safety has become increasingly significant domestically as well as internationally, as a series of high speed railway accidents and other major accidents have occurred recently. Especially for the domestic railway, the Korean Railway Safety Law has been revised recently, mandates all the domestic railway operation authorities to render the performance of RAMS and RCM. This study inspects and analyzes the current status of the sensing technology of the electric detection system to tell the status of railway facilities in the highway railway in a real time through a sensor. It also performs the reliability analysis of the electric detection system that is being progressed as a study assignment and suggests the system construction for the higher reliability.

  • Recently, all kind of 21C-typed electronic goods show the tendency of hightechnology and digital convergence rapidly. Also, failure mechanism which differs from original goods concept presents. Today, failure mechanism which differs from one that was happened by restricted harmful environment material before adapted the raw of environment material is changing the paradigm of reliability engineering. Thus, when applied the environment matter of original and secondary material at the electronic goods were removed, reliability assessment method and prediction stay into low level. This study suggests as solution to overcome these phenomenon. The study on the management method of environmental restriction substances which is recognized as important element in the reliability assessment about environment material of electronic goods and the study on reliability assessment method of PWB without environment material are progressed.

  • This paper studies the structure and reliability of homogeneous s-coherent multistate system. We describe efficiency of inclusion-exclusion algorithm and pivotal decomposition algorithm for reliability calculation of 2-states system which developed in (Lee 1999) [10]. We extend our method, applied in [10], to the case when components of the system are given multi-states. As an application, the high pressure injection system of a pressurized water reactor is modeled as a multistate system composed of homogeneous s-coherent multistate subsystems. And Several examples are illustrated.

  • Automobiles have become part of our lives in modern society. But since they can be detrimental once problems occur on the road safety requirements are stringent. In this paper DFSS procedure is applied to the establishment of headliner safety. Specifically, IDDOV is employed where problems are identified, areas for development clarified, optimization realized, and finally optimal conditions verified at the final stage.

  • Recently, product-reliability and process-reliability in product development processes has been regarded as an important issue in many manufacturers. TRIZ which is theory for inventive solving is required to obtain reliability of each process. To solve the technological problems, TRIZ provides problems can be occurred in product development processes as a contradiction matrix based on 40 creative invention principles with alternatives for physical and technological contradiction. This paper suggests the method for inventive solving to ensure the reliability assurance of product development processes based on TRIZ.

  • In this paper, we design AVTMRWFSV(All Voting Triple Modular Redundancy With Fail-Safe Voter) System with a fail-safe output voter architecture and analyze RAMS(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) as system failure rate. This system is compared with AVTMR system for RAMS(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) with Markov modeling, and we can see that the system safety of AVTMRWFSV is more profitable than that of AVTMR. The dependability of AVTMRWFSV system is higher than that of AVTMR. Especially, safety is very profitable. So, this kind of system can be applied to embedded communication system and life critical systems - railway, airplane, ship, nuclear control system and so on.

  • Continuous airworthiness system is comprised of regulations and procedures to assure the safety and reliability through the total stage of development, certification and operation of aircraft. The purpose of this system is not only to provide the guidelines that should be kept by manufacturers and operators, but also to evaluate the maintenance capability in every activity of safety related procedures. During the development process of the mid and large size aircraft, operational experience should be reflected systematically for a safer and more reliable product by using the meaningful data base from operation. The relationship of safety roles between manufacturer and operator is mutually complementary, and the roles of each function have an influence to the next step. Overall structure of the procedure contains the concept of continuous analysis and feedback to achieve highest degree of safety and reliability during the entire life of aircraft. Finally, this paper describes how the feedback is made and used for aircraft design from operational experience under the continuous analysis and surveillance system.

  • The safe design against fatigue failure becomes more important criterion in highway bridges. The fatigue-safety evaluation is performed for the current bridge code. A reliability model incorporating fatigue damage is formulated and the satety indices are calculated. The present study indicates that the calculated safety indices vary greatly with traffic volumes and loadometer values. A method is proposed to maintain uniform reliability for vafious traffic conditions and loadings.

The Effect of Rapport on the Airplane on Reliability and Safety - Under the Pandemic - (기내에서의 라포가 신뢰성과 안전성에 미치는 영향 - 팬데믹 상황을 기반으로 -)

  • This study tried to confirm whether the public's negative emotions such as fear and anxiety about corona virus infection caused by the spatial nature of the aircraft were alleviated due to factors of in-flight services focusing on hygiene and quarantine and further had a positive effect on the formation of Rapport between cabin crews and passengers. We also investigated the impact on passengers' perceptions such as Reliability and Safety which can be viewed as a new measure and standard of customer satisfaction in the Pandemic era through Rapport. A survey was conducted online in December 2021 for passengers with experience in boarding aircraft after the COVID-19 outbreak, and a total of 211 responses were used for analysis. As a result of the analysis of the data, it was confirmed that aircraft in-flight service had a positive (+) effect on Rapport, and Rapport between passengers and cabin crews had a positive (+) effect on passenger Reliability and Safety.
