  • This paper presents a 3-DOF hovering flight controller for a model helicopter using the minimal order LQG/LTR technique. A model helicopter is an unstable multi-input multi-output nonlinear system strongly exposed to disturbances, so a robust multi-variable control theory should be applied to control it. The minimal order LQG/LTR technique which uses a reduced-order observer in the LTR procedure is used to design the controller. Performances for the 3-DOF hovering flight controller are evaluated through computer simulations.

탐색기의 주사루프 모델링과 LQG/LTR보상기 설계 (Modelling and LQG/LTR Compensator Design of the Seeker Scan-Loop)

  • A mathematical model of the seeker scan-loop which is composed of a spin-stabilized gyroscope and its driving signal processors is derived. The derived model has a transmission zero pair on the imaginary axis near to the required bandwidth. The LQG/LTR design methodology is evolved for the derived scan-loop model. To implement the designed LQG/LTR compensator to the actual plant, the compensator order is reduced using the internally balanced realization method. The performances of the LQG/LTR compensator are tested and compared with those of the P-control. Especially, stability-robustnessexperiments for model uncertainties represented in the form of time-delays are performed. It is demonstrated that the LQG/STR compensator is actually very robust to model uncertainties.

헬리콥터 회전날개깃의 안정성 해석과 제어 (Aeromechanical stability analysis and control of helicopter rotor blades)

  • 복합재로 된 회전날개깃을 상자보로 모델링하고 수동/능동 감쇠를 주기 위해 ACL(Active Constrained Damping Layer)을 상하양면에 부착하고 복합변위이론에 기초한 유한요소방법을 이용하여 구조해석을 수행하였다. 이 이론은 ACL내의 복합재와 점탄성층 그리고 압전층의 전단변형효과를 정확하게 모델링하는데 효과적이다. Hankel 의 특이값을 이용해 축차모델을 유도하였으며 축차모델과 측정된 출력에 기초한 LQG 제어기를 설계하였다. 그러나 LQG 제어기는 공칭 운전속도에서는 좋은 성능을 보여주었으나 운전속도가 변하는 상황에 대해서는 강인안정성을 보여주지 못했다. 이 LQG제어기의 강인안정성을 개선하기 위하여 루프전달회복을 통한 강인한 제어기를 설계하였다. 수치 예를 통해 제시된 제어기가 회전날개깃의 공기역학적인 안정성을 개선하는데 효과적이며 동체모드와 연계된 리드-래그 모드감쇠를 증가시켜 회전날개깃의 진동을 효과적으로 억제하는 것을 보였다.

Modeling and Multivariable Control of a Novel Multi-Dimensional Levitated Stage with High Precision

  • This paper presents the modeling and multivariable feedback control of a novel high-precision multi-dimensional positioning stage. This integrated 6-degree-of-freedom. (DOF) motion stage is levitated by three aerostatic bearings and actuated by 3 three-phase synchronous permanent-magnet planar motors (SPMPMs). It can generate all 6-DOF motions with only a single moving part. With the DQ decomposition theory, this positioning stage is modeled as a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) electromechanical system with six inputs (currents) and six outputs (displacements). To achieve high-precision positioning capability, discrete-time integrator-augmented linear-quadratic-regulator (LQR) and reduced-order linearquadratic-Gaussian (LQG) control methodologies are applied. Digital multivariable controllers are designed and implemented on the positioning system, and experimental results are also presented in this paper to demonstrate the stage's dynamic performance.

  • To improve the performance of the robots they must be built ever lighter, which will lead to flexibility of the links. The full order of the flexible link manipulator dynamic system does not allow the determination of a feedback linearization control as for flexible link manipulator regard low mode. In this paper, this drawback is overcome by LQG/LTR controller which is designed bya corrected reduced modle based on the singular perturbation method.

제어기축차기법을 이용한 항공기 날개의 플러터제어 (Active Flutter Control of an Aircraft Wing Using Controller Order Reduction)

  • In this study, an ROC(Reduced Order Controller) is designed to increase the flutter velocity of an aircraft wing, and the effect of ROC on the flight performance is also analyzed. The aircraft wing used in the paper is modelled as a 3 DOF two-dimensional rigid body. In the disign of controller, LQG and BACR(Balanced Augmented Controller Reduction) strategy is used as control algorithm and controller reduction method respectively. Simulation has been conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of ROC on the active flutter control, compared to FOC(Full Order Controller). It has been found that ROC using BACR is much effective than FOC in the sense of computation effort, without sacrificing the active flutter control performance.

  • In this paper a new approach to obtain the solution of the linear-quadratic Gaussian control problem for singularly perturbed discrete-time stochastic systems is proposed. The alogorithm proposed is based on exploring the previous results that the exact solution of the global discrete algebraic Riccati equations is found in terms of the reduced-order pure-slow and pure-fast nonsymmetric continuous-time algebraic Riccati equations and, in addition, the optimal global Kalman filter is decomposed into pure-slow and pure-fast local optimal filters both driven by the system measurements and the system optimal control input. It is shown that the optimal linear-quadratic Gaussian control problem for singularly perturbed linear discrete systems takes the complete decomposition and parallelism between pure-slow and pure-fast filters and controllers.

  • 본 논문에서는 혼합감도문제를 이용하여 강인한 서보계를 구성함으로서 동위치 제어 시스템의 제어계를 설계하는 방법을 제안하였고, LQG를 이용한 다변수 디지털 서보 제어기 및 H$\infty$ 최적 제어기와의 비교실험을 통하여 제안된 제어기의 유용성을 입증하였다.
