As pervasive computing technology, which aims to get linked to useful knowledge, information or services anytime, anywhere, using any devices and/or artifacts, is proliferating, desirable impacts on knowledge management systems are now available. The pervasive computing technology will potentially enable the knowledge management systems to realize individualization and socialization and ultimately increase the knowledge processing productivity. However, researchers who apply the pervasive computing methodologies to novel way of knowledge management have been very few. These result in unsatisfactory consideration of establishing pervasive knowledge management systems. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to cast the vision of pervasive knowledge management and search for a couple of possible research issues and possibilities. This paper suggests a framework of ubiDSS, an amended knowledge management system for the next generation deploying pervasive and autonomous knowledge acquisition capabilities of ubiquitous computing technologies. Also the CKAM, context-based knowledge acquisition module, is illustrated as a prototype of future knowledge management systems.
Urban is more intelligent continuously with the help of the convergence with IT technology. And it requires an integrated control system, which can manage urban facilities or monitor large-scale events based on GIS data, to provide its citizen with various ubiquitous services such as u-Health, u-Traffic, context-awareness etc. In order to realize the intelligent city geo-sensors that have the functionalities of generic sensing as well as location awareness will be established everywhere in the near future. Our system we presented have a rule engine to handle a atomic event as well as complex events that contain control flow or branch among them. And it can allow for visualization and monitoring the results through KML (Keyhole Mark-up Language) in the Google Maps. This paper describes au-GIS event processing system that can deal effectively with u-GIS events coming from various geo-sensor data in ubiquitous computing environments.

This paper describes system design and realization to the ubiquitous intelligent lesson management. This system includes students management by utilizing RFID and web-cam, personal security certification by fingerprint recognition, keyboard locking of PC by hooking technology, personal data management by cloud system, internet block access by a packet monitoring. We have design and realize this system, In the future, we will applicate our system to the classes using computer.
Last February, $\ulcorner$The Act on Ubiquitous City Construction and etc.$\lrcorner$ was approved by the National Assembly. The law stipulates the regulations on the planning, construction and management of the Ubiquitous City. As its national-level law system is about to take its effects, future new city developments are expected to have its legal basis to be built to meet ubiquitous city requirements. Also, it is anticipated that such needs would require much more planning techniques and strategies. In reaction to those upcoming needs, this study is to search for new planning approaches to realize the u-City in reality. It is also to supply with the framework to execute the u-City projects in more structuralize and systemize manner. Therefore, with the purpose of the establishment of comprehensive planning system, the theoretical bases were sought in relation to planning u-City, pre-existing u-City development cases and regarding regulations were analyzed, and then basic concepts, features, and constituent factors were set up.
IPTV Service, a convergence service of broadcasting, seems to have great potential as a nation's future growth driver for the 21st century. As IPTV service is future-oriented industry, adopting IPTV policy by freeing oneself from shortsighted policy and considering long-term strategy and rapidly changing convergence environment would be desirable. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to deduct future IPTV service under convergence environment by applying T.A.I.D.A, which is strategy planning tool effective for planning mid-long strategy, under uncertain environment among scenario method and offer new policy direction in order to realize future IPTV service.
In Korea, we witness vivid evidences of changing trend in communication that insist the emergence of new networking architecture. To accommodate the changing trend and to hold current strong position in global IT industry, Korea have launched broadband convergence network (BcN) initiative. BcN vision for Korea is to be the first in the world to realize converged network infrastructure and ubiquitous service environment. In this paper, we have introduced the concept and the vision of BcN with a viewpoint of a new paradigm to prepare future-proof communication environment. And then, we have disclosed BcN research and development (R&D) activities including R&D philosophy, R&D phases, and key technologies required. Also, we have discussed current development issues in three technology branches including service and control technology, unified transport technology, and next-generation access technology.
The purpose of this paper is to define the concept of KAD/KAM, furthermore is to establish my own idea on the knowledge related works in engineering domain for a next decade ahead. KAD/KAM is represented as "Knowledge Everywhere" based on the concept of ubiquitous computing in engineering domain. At the beginning of the paper, the definition of KAD/KAM is described. And the related technologies to realize KAD/KAM, such as augmented reality, ontology, data mining, and knowledge management, are introduced. The concept of KAD/KAM is still immature. But this will be a new paradigm to change entire engineering environment in near future.
Sensor networks play an important role in making the dream of ubiquitous computing a reality. With a variety of applications, sensor networks have the potential to influence everyone's life in the near future. However, there are a number of issues in deployment and exploitation of these networks that must be dealt with for sensor network applications to realize such potential. Localization of the sensor nodes, which is the subject of this paper, is one of the basic problems that must be solved for sensor networks to be effectively used. This paper proposes a probabilistic support vector machine (SVM)-based method to gain a fairly accurate localization of sensor nodes. As opposed to many existing methods, our method assumes almost no extra equipment on the sensor nodes. Our experiments demonstrate that the probabilistic SVM method (PSVM) provides a significant improvement over existing localization methods, particularly in sparse networks and rough environments. In addition, a post processing step for PSVM, called attractive/repulsive potential field localization, is proposed, which provides even more improvement on the accuracy of the sensor node locations.

U-City has been promoted nation-wide by development of recent IT technology. This paper studied the concept of 3D-virtual city in order to realize the current Ubiquitous City(U-City) efficiently, and to manage all the RFID/USN monitoring data in the real U-City. 3D-Virtual City is the concept of the reproduction of real world U-City, for embodying Ubiquitous technology while using Digital map, satellite image, VRML(Virtual Reality Modeling Language). U&V-City is the four-dimensional future city that real-time wire/wireless communication network and 3D-web GIS shall be connected that massive database, intelligent service be perceived through employing EAI(External Authoring Interface) that provides HTML&JAVA, and interface for efficient removal/process of massive information/ service and also by employing GPS/LBS/Navigation in support of world-wide orientation concept, and RTLS(Real Time Location System).

Smart City is a sustainable city that provides a variety of city services to cities that are built with a mix of construction, information and communication technologies, etc. to improve the competitiveness and quality of life of the city. In this paper, we analyze trends of domestic and foreign smart cities and the smart city organization of local governments, and describe the direction of local government's smart city organization system to realize sustainable smart city.
