This research analyzes how female college students' perception of somatotype-self and their satisfactions with their somatotype-self affect their appearance-management behaviors. The result is as follows: 1)An analysis of subjects' physical characteristics revealed that the average figures of their body sizes were within the normal boundaries. The average Quetelet Index of the subjects, which determines obesity of adults, was slightly below the nationwide physical standard of Korea. 2)The subjects' satisfaction with their each body part shows that the women were unsatisfied with every body-part measurement; height, bust size, waist size, hips size and particularly weight. 3)While most of the respondents recognized that sizes of their body parts were average, they were not happy with their body sizes. 4)Three factors were recognized from the study of appearance-management behaviors of the subjects; we defined them as 'Appearance Management', 'Weight Management', and 'Satisfaction with one's Appearance.' The study showed that the fatter, the more a subject controlled her weight. 5)A correlation study between one's perception of her body and her appearance-management behavior found that the more obese a subject was, the harder the subject was controlling her weight.

This study analyzed a somatotype that was more suitable to a virtual fitting model and to improve the reality of a virtual model size. We analyzed 1,868 women 18-59 years old from the 6th Size Korea data. First, factor analysis was done for abstracting new criteria for dividing the somatotype; subsequently, we selected the waist height proportion to stature (body proportion) and drop (torso shape). Next, the cluster analysis was done with these criteria and 7 body proportion types and 11 torso shapes were distinguished. A virtual model size for the most common somatotype was also developed by a regression analysis of constituting sizes of each factor that was compared with body sizes well as with Clo's virtual model size. The model of this research showed a high similarity in sizes with body as well as improved better realisty than the Clo model which presented size problems such as longer limbs, bigger bust, smaller waist and a smaller arm circumference than the real body.

This study analyzed a somatotype of teenager's that was suitable to improve the reality of a virtual model size. We analyzed 843 teenagers 12-18 years old from the 6th Size Korea data. First, factor analysis was done for abstracting new criteria and dividing the somatotype; subsequently, we selected the waist height proportion to stature (body proportion) and drop (torso shape). Next, the cluster analysis was done with these criteria; subsequently, 5 body proportion types and 7 torso shapes were distinguished. A virtual model size for 4 somatotype with more than 50 persons was also designed by a regression analysis that constituted sizes for each factor. The designed model size was compared with body size as well as with Clo's virtual model size. The research model showed a high similarity in sizes with body as well as improved reality over the Clo model that presented size problems such as low waist height, bigger bust, and smaller thigh circumference than the real body.
To find the differences between the real somatotype and the ideal somatotype, WHR(Waist to Hip Ratio), WCR(Waist to Chest Ratio), and body cathexis were analysed by using ANOVA test, Duncan's multiple range test, and $x^2$ test. Fashion image sought by female collegians was surveyed, too. The results were as follows. WHRs in slim, usual, fat body type were 0.75, 0.76, and 0.83 and WCRs were 0.77, 0.81, 0.80. The respondents who considered themselves to be overweight recognized themselves to be fatter than their real weight. They were not satisfied with their bust girth in slim body type, thighs and calves in usual body type, and all parts except for foot length, hand length and arm length in fat body type. 60% of the thin people considered their body hourglass shape, 30.4% of regular people recognized their body triangle type, 43.8% of fat people thought their body was round form. They thought current ideal body size was bigger in height and bust girth and smaller in waist girth and hip girth, and weight than real body size. Also they responded ideal body shape was an hourglass type independent of somatotype. The pursuit of clothing image was that 45.5% of female collegians were fashionable and raffine and 10.4% of female collegians was elegant and graceful. Among the body area, body parts that may have an effect on body image were body length in 13.1% of the respondents, waist girth in 10.7% of the respondents, and hip girth in 10.0% of the respondents.
The purpose of this study was to classify real somatotype by their obesity degree and to investigate cognitive somatotype by their body consciousness in female college students. The subjects were 172 female college students aged from 19 to 23 living in Taegu. Average height of the subjects was 161.33 em, weight was 52.49 kg, Rohrer Index was 125.33, BMI was 20.18, Vervaeck Index was 84.03, and percentage of body fat was 26.07. In classification of the subjects by 3 body indexes, lean figure took 37.79~50.00%, normal figure took 45.35~54.65%, and obese figure took 4.65~8.14% and in classification of the subjects by percentage of body fat was, lean figure took 38.95%, normal figure took 46.51%, and obese figure took 14.54%. In consciousness and satisfaction about body parts, the subjects recognized that their girth items were 'thick', length items were 'short', and weight was 'heavy'. Also they generally preferred slender and long body.
This study aimed to investigate the effects of somatotypes and body-related variables such as body exposure and body satisfaction on underwear evaluative criteria. Usable questionnaires were obtained from a total of 250 male and female students in their 20s. The data were mainly analyzed by t-test, ANOVA and analysis of variance using SPSS ver. 21.0. The results of this study are as follows: First, differences between underwear and outerwear evaluative criteria were found. For example, size, comfort and washing were important for the underwear but design, brand and fashionability were meaningful for outerwear. Price, color, material, and sewing were important for both outerwear and underwear. Second, the groups divided by somatotypes, a thin person group, a moderate person group and a fat person group, showed no difference in underwear evaluative criteria. Members of all the somatotype groups evaluated underwear similarly. Third, the groups divided by body image distortion showed different evaluative criteria for underwear. The negative discordance group emphasized the importance of the practicality factor, but the positive discordance group stressed the significance of the symbolism factor. Finally, the groups divided by body exposure and body satisfaction showed different evaluative criteria for underwear, too. The effects of socio-cultural variables on the underwear evaluative criteria proved to be significant.

The purpose of this study was to make activated electronic business transaction of clothes. The subject used for this study was 19 - 24 aged 149 college women who most likely buying products through internet. By compare the 149 women's body shape with 3D model, 149 women could be judged their body shape objectively. We showed the average 3D model by the measurement of 19 - 24aged women's body shape. 19 - 24aged women are big customer of internet shopping mall. By understanding of the difference between real somatotype and perceptual somatotype, we can reduce the disadvantage such as returning clothes. Also, imaginary fitting model can be used for internet shopping mall, animation work, fashion show, and advertisement work. Therefore, we can expect the worth of this study to do.
