Integrity evaluations of bogie frame using ultrasonic-fractography analysis (초음파-파면해석에 의한 대차 프레임의 건전성 평가)

  • This study proposes the integrity evaluation of bogie frame using ultrasonic waves-fractography analysis. Analysis objectives in this study are to investigate fracture planes of damaged zone by the A-scan method. The surface condition of fracture plane shows degree of degradation by stress concentration. The detection of the natural defects in bogie frame is performed using the characteristics of echodynamic pattern in ultrasonic signal. Results of ultrasonic testing agree fairly well with those of actual fracture plane. In quantitative fractography analysis, microstructures of actual fracture plane turned out to be intergranular and transgranular fracture, Proposed ultrasonic-fractography analysis in this study can be used for the integrity evaluation of the bogie frame

  • This paper describes the measurement and location method of partial discharges in high voltage CV cables. Coupling capacitors were used to detect partial discharge signal. Impedance characteristic of the coupling circuit and an amplifier with a high Common Mode Rejection Ratio(CMRR) were studied to improve sensitivity of the circuit. From the calibration experiment, the sensitivity of the partial discharge detection circuit was about 100pC. Also, we confirmed that the location of partial discharges in cables can be estimated by calculation of time difference between the first pulse and the second one reflected from the other end of the cable.

  • 본 논문은 고정폐색구간에서 차량운전 특성과 속도패턴이 다양한 다종의 열차들이 동일선로에서 복합되어 고밀도 운행을 위한 방법으로, 신호현시에 대한 제반정보를 차상으로 전송 받아 기관실 신호표시반에 신호를 현시 하는 차상신호방식(Cab Signalling System)중에서, 선행열차의 위치, 선로조건 등 지상의 상태정보를 후속열차가 수신하여 열차 자신의 제동특성 등 차량정보와 비교 분석하여 제동거리를 계산하는 distance to go 방식으로 열차운전속도를 제어하는 ATP (Automatic Train Protection) 시스템을 제안하였다. 폐색구간별 고정된 신호속도단계가 부여되는 ATC(Automatic Train Control) 시스템에서는 운행패턴이 같은 단일차종의 열차만 운행하는 구간에서는 일정속도에 의한 폐색구간 분할로 구간내 distance to go 신호체계가 이루어지지만, 차종과 속도패턴이 서로 상이한 복합열차들의 운행구간에서는 안전거리 확보를 위하여 저속열차의 제동거리를 기준으로 폐색구간 분할 및 속도결정이 이루어지므로 ATP 방식보다 운행효율이 다소 떨어짐을 알 수 있었다. 이를 차량특성과 속도패턴이 다른 3개의 열차를 모델로 하여 열차별 감속도에 의한 제동특성을 ATC와 ATP 신호제어체계에 접목시켜 시뮬레이션을 하였다.

  • This paper studied technical investigation of effective operation and methodology for technical combination in south and north korea. For harmonious transportation on railroad system, the system of trans-korea railroad investigated on each part(system, Rolling stock, Cartenary & Electricity, Signal and Track etc). Though it isn't show many difference on railroad system, we can show some difference on rolling stock, track and signaling system. For the effective and competitive operation on south and north korea, Many problem investigated and proposed alternative proposal for selecting of rolling stock(diesel or electric), track and signaling improving for speed-up and compatible system at AC and DC system.

  • A lights-out detector, which helps the person in charge of maintenance make a quick judgment in the event of a failure of LED-type traffic lights, was explored/developed and installed/ tested, at Seoul Metro, after they developed a patented pilot product in 2005; and, a product improvement test was conducted to ensure reasonable maintenance of signaling facilities. Having better compatibility with existing circuit in use and displaying stable load current, the device makes the maintenance of lights-out detection and alert easier.

  • In this paper, the characteristics of noise and vibration of high speed train is analyzed depending on its speed. The speed is a very important parameter because it can affect the interaction between the train and the environment as well as the characteristics of the train itself. To measure its characteristics, we analyzed the signals from microphones and accelerometers which were attached to the passenger car of the high speed train. The signals from each sensor were stored in the recorder, and then analyzed by using the signal processing program. The data from each sensor are analyzed with the spectrogram. From the spectrogram, we found some distinct characteristics of the passenger car. Also, the characteristics of the noise propagation were inferred from the spectrogram.

  • This study analysed testing method for performance verification in the phase of signalling system development for application in the Light Rail Transit(LRT). The main focus in this study therefore includes development of vehicle location detection system by first GPS and analysis of performance verification method by field testing. The comprehensive testing method has been analysed for the signalling system for LRT high speed operation. The signalling system for LRT high speed operation deals with vehicle location identification through vehicle location information using the second GPS and decision for whether the high speed proceed signal and departure inhibition output is feasible or not and for signalling output to the corresponding vehicle.

  • CBTC(Communication-Based Train Control) system which is based on wireless communication can provide high density operation of the train using location tracking between ground and onboard train. It can also reduces maintenance expense because it does not require the ground equipment for tracking circuit and signal flag and so on. Recently, research and interest have been done on CBTC system. The high-speed trains up to 300km/h experience multi-path fading channel which bring about the performance degradation of wireless CBTC system. In this paper, we consider MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) antenna-based CBTC system for trains with Alamoutip-type space-time diversity transmission for reliable communication. Also we model a channel considering practical environment and evaluate performance improvement of proposed CBTC system.

  • This paper aims to find out the statistical characteristics of the railroad accidents by weather phenomena. For this, It is investigated occurrence frequency of railroad accidents and operation obstacles from 1996 to 2008 in Korea using the KROIS data and Korea railroad accidents reports. The results are as follows; The occurrence frequency of railroad accidents and operation obstacles decrease gradually, and most of railroad accidents is a railroad traffic accidents. The amount of damages by a railroad weather-related accidents is higher than the one of the railroad accidents and operation obstacles. Weather events which is influenced the railroad weather-related accidents and incidents are rainfall, snowfall, lightning, strong winds. And they have occurred a railroad weather-related accidents and incidents, such as rail obstruction, signal failure, and power supply failure.
