The city of 'G' has been made a number of achievements with its science program as a part of public library's cultural program during the last 5 years. Recently, the national science centre has been established in the same city, the debate is now needed whether the science program in the public library have reasons to be maintained or to be reduced. The aim of this research is on the operating strategies of the science program in the public library. The research methods include case studies of operational strategies in domestic and foreign science centre, the level of satisfaction of local citizen on the science program, the vision of science program in the advancement of public library in the $21^{st}$ century. In results, the research proposes that the science program in public library should be maintained, but with locally characterised programs. In addition, the study also advised on the provision of scientific information, the strengthened search functions, and the development of user-centred services for those in science fields.

The objective of this study is to investigate financial integrity strategies for sustainable development of local public medical centers, and particularly focus on seeking ways to enhance its financial efficiency and publicness. The data which was collected from 33 local public medical centers was analyzed by Data Envelopment Analysis to measure its financial efficiency. Then, Matrix Analysis was used to examine the association of financial efficiency and publicness of local public medical centers with related factors. In the aspects of facilities and location, according to the results, the local public medical centers which have larger number of available hospital beds or located in bigger cities were examined to have higher degree of publicness. In the aspect of human resources, greater number of doctors made both financial efficiency and the degree of publicness decreased, whereas higher participation rate of educational program for doctors affects increasing its financial efficiency and publicness. Lastly, in the aspect of costs, higher labor, material, and administrative cost diminished financial efficiency, but enhanced the degree of publicness. Based on these results, this study concluded that enhancing the publicness of local public medical centers should be pursued by increasing the accessibility with better facilities and location, and also concurrently organizing rational expenditure structure with appropriate cost investment to the resources of local public medical centers. Also, it is necessary to enhance both financial efficiency and publicness simultaneously by improving the quality of health care services through the educational programs for medical staffs.

Most important of all was the concept of library life-long education on which the studies were to be based. This concept has been broad, both in its interpretation of what constitutes a "program" and of what life-long education in a library is. No formal definition was adopted, but a common understanding existed that a fundamental purpose of the public library is to provide the means of continuing education, and to encourage the most effective utilization of these means through a program of activities whose effects are continuous and cumulatives. There are educational program, socio-cultural program and recreational program in the life-long education program of the public library. These programs can be planned by which the public library developed its resources and its services. services.

The purpose of this study is to present an activation model of the culture program and reading activity at public libraries in Seoul City. For this purpose it is to review theoretical basis on public library culture program and reading activity, and to analyze the present status of them and then to introduce the case of Nowon Children's Library Culture Program and Reading Activity as a form of the characteristic program of public library supporting the culture and reading activities in Seoul City.

For the public library reading revitalization in this study it is to review program development examples which is differentiated by own library from the existing reading education and reading program. Based on the specialized program examples it intended suggesting a method of reading revitalization, after reviewing enlarged specialized function in the existing public library function, and analyzing related the reading activity status concerning with Seoul city public library, 'One Library One Book Reading' activity and U. S. A public library. Also, this study suggested future public library reading revitalization through the specialized quality service program development and construction related reading.

The purpose of this study is to develop a cultural program model and to provide a cultural program manual for public library. The various program models and manuals were analyzed from the literature, and program expert interviews were conducted. The results show that the culture program model includes inner factors and outer factors. Inner factors include program objective and resources as a program framework. The outer factors include program subject and format, and are what to show and how to show. A cultural program manual is developed for individual public library. The manual has 12 levels and each level has several actions which focus on important role.

In order for public education to iud its balance, stronger arts education program is necessary. Successful delivery of arts education program is expected when it is implemented in cooperation with public library, which is at the heart of community culture and education. Under these assumptions, this study determined current status of arts education programs by investigating public library documents. The research also verified the prospect of facilitating the programs with public library support with survey. Based on the findings, problems in current public library were identified and alternatives for seamless collaboration with schools were recommended.

Purpose: This study was to describe and develop public health nursing. Methods: Data were collected from 19 nurses sampled from 5 public health centers. The grounded theory of Strauss and Corbin (1990) was applied. Results: As a result, 48 concepts, 23 subcategories, and 11 categories were deduced from open coding. In axial coding, casual conditions 'facing difficulties of practical administration' and 'attaching importance to health support for residents' and context condition 'assessing of residents' service needs' impacted phenomenon 'searching for efficient performing methods.' Intervening conditions 'forming of support system' and 'working with positive,' and action-interaction conditions 'improving of resident's health and medical accessibility' and 'striving for self-development' lead to consequences 'carried out promptly for field-based problem solving,' 'mastered of successful program planning methods' and 'solving the issues with existing style.' The periods of process were divided into 4 stages, confirming program-contents, probing program-method, developing program-strategies, and applying program-competencies. The core category, ‘strengthening of practical-planning work competencies' incorporated the relationship between and among all categories and explained the process. Conclusion: This study described public health nurses' performance in Korea. These findings have important implications for the practice and must be considered to develop competencies for planning and practice of public health.

The purpose of this study is to develop the categories of the bibliotherapy Program in the public libraries and to evaluate the effect of group bibliotherapy program for the decreasing aggressive behavior of the elementary school children. The effectiveness of bibliotherapy Program was very impressive and its expansion to the public library service is required.
