Groundwater Dam is one of the reliable techniques to get huge amount of groundwater abstraction for municipal, agricultural, drinking, industrial water supply system. It can be a major technique to solve water shortage problems when it based on the sufficient watershed, proper topology, and adequate aquifer distribution and pollution control. It is suggested that the two consecutive underground wall in the coastal area to prevent seawater intrusion beneath a single wall.

In the last year, the number of registered vehicles in Korea surpassed the 12 million mark, and increase in number continuously Nowdays, this tendency has raised some problems inevitably in the view of expansion of ELV(end of life vehicle) and earth environment pollution resulted from it. For the proper scope with this environment pollution, recycling of parts and materials, minimization of wastes are desirable. And application of disassembly technology is required for it necessarily. Therefore it is essential to study systematically about disassembly technology of ELV with high efficiency for improvement recycling ratio and diminution shredder dust amount also in Korea.

It is well perceived that micrometeorological approach is one of the most reliable method for the quantification of vertical fluxes of trace components in the atmosphere. In this study, the feasibility of relaxed eddy accumulation (REA) method is discussed with respect to its reliability in the field application. Knowing that the use of micrometeorological approaches requires validation of analytical uncertainties involved, the problems and issues associated with its application are discussed to stimulate the proper employment of such technique in the field study.

As a basic study on the machine tools of modular structure, a Computer Aided Design of feed driving unit and an optimization of the dynamic characteristics of a machine tool structure are carried out.. Computer-aided design technique enables designers to save time and to easily do the job in variant design by effectively documenting design techniques and data. In this study a computer program package was developed for automatic design of a proper feed driving units by utilizing building block principle of OIWA CADET.

Power plants rely on air operated valves for the proper operation of many plant system. Many significant problems arise in vital systems of power plants due to air operated valve failures. This paper deals with the diagnosis technique and data acquisition method of an AOV actuator peformance. We constructed AOV diagnosis system and performed some tests to find out whether an AOV actuator was properly designed.

In this paper, we designed high performance, high quality and high density switch mode power supply for precision electronics, and communication equipments. For this, we used two parallel DC-DC converters, which have opposite phases, to support proper high performance and high quality power. To reduce switching losses and make high switching frequency, active-clamp and ZVS technique were employed in each converter.

Two phase simulated annealing algorithm is presented as a structural optimization technique and applied to minimum weight design of space trusses subjected to stress and displacement constraints under multiple loading conditions. Univariate searching algorithm is adopted for automatic selection of initial values of design variables for SA algorithm. The proper values of cooling factors and reasonable stopping criteria for optimum design of space truss structures are proposed to enhance the performance of optimization process. Optimum weights and design solutions are presented for two well-blown example structures and compared with those reported in the literature.

This paper considers the problem of global adaptive regulation for a class of nonlinear systems which have multiple unknown virtual control coefficient. By using a new parameter estimator and backstepping technique, we design a smooth state feedback control law, parameter update laws that estimate the unknown virtual control coefficients, and a continuously differentiable Lyapunov function which is positive definite and proper.

This paper introduces how to adopt the X-12-ARIMA to decompose the railway passenger demand of the Korea National Railroad Especially, selecting on proper filters is focused. The trend filter is identical to the low pass filter in the signal Processing field, and so the seasonal filter is to band pass filter too. Some considerations, selecting a filter, are provided from the view-point of the spectrum analysis. The technique introduced in this paper will be adopted to the project that is to develope the forecasting system of Korea railway passenger demand which is a part of the high speed rail information system.
