The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of two shoe size conditions on foot pressure, ground reaction force (GRF), and lower extremity muscle fatigue. Seven healthy men participated. They randomly performed walking and running in two different conditions: proper shoe size and 10 mm greater than proper shoe size. Peak foot pressure, and vertical, anterior and mediolateral force components were recorded with the Parotec system and Kisler force platform. To assess fatigue, the participants performed treadmill running for twenty-five minutes twice, each time wearing a different shoe size. Surface electromyography was used to confirm localized muscle fatigue using power spectral analysis of four muscles (tibialis anterior, gastrocnemius medialis, rectus femoris, and biceps femoris). The results were as follows: 1) In walking conditions, there was a significantly higher peak pressure in the 10 mm greater than proper shoe size insole sensor 1, 2, 14, and 18 (p<.05). 2) In running conditions, there was a significantly higher peak pressure in the 10 mm greater than proper shoe size insole sensor 5, 14, and 15 (p<.05). 3) In walking conditions, there was a significantly higher first maximal vertical GRF in the 10 mm greater than proper shoe size (p<.05). 4) In running conditions, no GRF components were significantly different between each shoe size condition (p>.05). 5) Muscle fatigue indexes of the tibialis anterior and rectus femoris were significantly increased in the 10 mm greater than proper shoe size condition. These results indicate that wearing shoes that are too large could further exacerbate the problems of increased foot pressure, vertical GRF, and muscle fatigue.
The purpose of this study is setting proper portion by consumed size of food and food preference and then reducing plate wasts in school lunch. The survey was conducted from Oct. 21 to Nov. 22, 1996 through the practical measurement and questionnaires. The subjects were 43 students of 1 elementary school. The results of this survey was as follows : 1. Average consumption size of cooked rice was 115g. Average consumption size of one course dishes was 209g. The soup & pot stewes showed lower consumption rate than the other kind of foods. Average consumption size of fresh & boiled salad was 23.4g Average consumption size of stir fries was 55g. Average consumption size of steams & stewes was 42g. Most grill & fried foods showed high consumption rate compared to most of the other foods. Average consumption size of kimchies was 10.6g. The most of given desserts except apple were all consumed. 2. There was significant correlation between food preference and consumption rate for total food items. 3. Response of satisfaction about serving size of most of given foods except fresh & boiled salads, soup & pot stewes and kimchies were "moderate". 4. Visual estimation was greater than physical estimation for most of given foods. Proper portion of foods per person by results were setted as follows :
The problem of fitting of children's clothing was researched through survey papers. The survey subjects were the mothers of elementary school students (grade 1 6) and the appropriateness of size, satisfaction with size, and fittings were asked. The survey area was divided into urban and rural areas. The following is the result: The children's clothing was mostly purchased in stores that carry lower-middle price range. The elements considered upon purchase were in the order of price, size, color and patterns. The frequency of purchase is 2 outfits a year, and the highest rate purchase was shown during the change of seasons. The size was picked through trying on the garment. The preferred indication of size was the one marked according to body size. The most popular size upon purchase was one size bigger than the proper fitting size. Mothers want their children to be able to wear one outfit for two years and actually children were able to wear them for two years. The highest degree of satisfaction upon proper fitting was bust girth and shoulder breath. The most frequent reason for a new purchase is the length. The most frequent dissatisfaction is the way buttons are sowed on.
This paper proposes a real-time dynamic storage allocation algorithm QSHF(quick-segregated-half-fit) that provides various memory allocation policies. that manages a free block list per each word size for memory requests of small size good(segregated)-fit policy that manages a free list per proper range size for medium size requests and half-fit policy that manages a free list per proper range size for medium size requests and half-fit policy that manages a free list per each power of 2 size for large size requests. The proposed algorithm has the time complexit O(1) and makes us able to easily estimate the worst case execution time(WCET). This paper also suggests two algorithm that finds the proper free list for the requested memory size in predictable time and if the found list is empty then finds next available non-empty free list in fixed time. In order to confirm efficiency of the proposed algorithm we simulated the memory utilization of each memory allocation policy. The simulation result showed that each policy guarantees the constant WCET regardless of memory size but they have trade-off between memory utilization and list management overhead.
The multifamily housing has various advantages in construction cost, land-use intensity. KRIHS(1997) recommended the proper scale of th multifamily housing as 800 households in constructability, 1,000 households in facility compactability, 500 households in social aspect. At the early planning stage of project, the size of the multiftmily housing has, until now, been maximizingly considered under the regulation on which has been emphasized at the building volume ratio, land area, etc., except for the expenditure during the maintenance stage. This paper aimed at providing the proper size of multifamily housing in aspect of area and household number with maintenance cost at the early stage of project. For these, it took 곧 average cost function which is made from the 3-rd quardratic form and analyzes the unit increasing rate of the average cost. It surveyed in nationwide focused on the central heating system using diesel and kerosene. The number of samples is 88 and items of management cost is 11. The results are as follows ; first, 3rd-order quadratic function is proper at explaining the cost variation, considering the multicollinearity and statistics. Second, the proper size of multifamily housing is recommended with 83,000 $m^2$ on management area, 820 or over the 2,630 household number in aspect of total management cost.
The purpose of this study is to suggest the standard size system of Saenghwal Hanbok for design development and popularization. As a sample, 20's and 40's female data among the 1997's National Somatometry Survey data were used because two groups have different somatic characteristics and design tastes with each other. The results are as follows; From t-test of 35 somatometric items in 20's and 40's female data, we knew that the differentiated size system proper to each age is needed. We also knew that the 38 Saenghwal Hanbok brands don't have consistent size system from investigation of size list and size application. From consideration on the number of size for production and coverage rate, we suggested regression formula by bust circumference and stature, and suggested advanced standard size system which are proper to each 20' and 40' female group.
This study suggested criterion for Petite-size and analyzed the body size and characteristics that were proper to manufacture clothing for Korean Petite-size women aged 18 to 34. It also analyzed size information about pattern making for Petite-size women through a comparison of the size and proportion of Petite-size with Regular-size. The criterion of Petite-size was decided in consideration of the distribution and perception of stature; subsequently, the stature range for Petite-size was defined as under 157.5cm. Body size and proportion of Petite-size were analyzed through calculating the mean from 25 to 75 percentiles of a Petite-size stature range. The Petite-size of this study was compared to KS Petite and total subjects through One way ANOVA. It was confirmed that the Petite-size of this study had body characteristics like KS Petite; however, Petite-size was larger in height and vertical length than KS Petite. The significant differences between Petite-size and Regular-size were identified in the same bust girth range, that required a revised calculation formula for pattern making that would be proper for Petite-size. It is expected that the Body size and proportion could be utilized as a reference for manufacturing or purchasing Petite-size clothing. The result of this study will contribute to enhance the fit satisfaction for Petite-size women aged 18 to 34.
Setting the ease amount takes the important part to the fit that consumers satisfies. Therefore, it is required to create a pattern for off-the-rack jackets that considers the proper amount of ease. However, few studies have been done previously regarding the ease amount of jacket pattern for the women in their 20s whose demand for jacket is high and who are sensitive to the fit. Therefore, this study selected top five brands in terms of sales and preference among the national female apparel brands. It obtained a tailored jacket pattern for basic size (55 size) and made the jacket. Then, an expert panel group put the pattern on Hani body, a torso dummy for education made by the anthropometric data of Size Korea for females in their 20s and conducted an evaluation on the ease amount and analyzed the results. As a result, the ease amount of the Pattern A was evaluated as proper and that of the Pattern B was found to be lease proper. From the fact, we can see that each of the top 5 off-the-rack brands has different ease amount, though they are of the same basic size (55 size).
A size of low-voltage conductor cables is determined by the voltage drop of a system, the cable impedance and the cable ampacity based on temperature correction factor in accordance with the condition of cable installation. Therefore, the proper temperature correction factor according to the condition of cable installation should be applied to determining the cable ampacity and also the skin effect and proximity effect, along with the kind and size of conductor and the condition of cable installation, should be properly considered to analyze the proper value of resistance and the reactance of the conductors. This paper addresses the systematic design flow for determining the size of low voltage level conductor cables in calculating the temperature character where error should be minimized in comparison with the general formula and which can be applied in design work for determining the size of conductor cables.
