A Study on the Motion Base Control by Using Maya (Maya를 이용한 모션 베이스 컨트롤에 관한 연구)

  • The motion base to a film used in 4D cinema theaters or theme parks is different depending on the operator's control or hardware system and this causes inefficiency in management of the theater. There are several different simulation software on the present market, but these are difficult for an animation producer to use them. This study introduces the idea in which a film producer simulates the movement of the motion base by using computer graphic animation tools mostly adopted by production for creating 3D animation and motion control data. Maya and 3D Cross were used to show the path of a motion camera visually. Attitude and axis control data were extracted from the movement of the virtual motion base and were used to control a prototype of the motion base. As a result, the motion control data from computer graphic animation tools can be created so that a film producer can create standard motion control data independently regardless of the hardware and operator's skill.

  • Soybean and mungbean sprouts are vegetables indigenous to Korea which have been grown throughout the year from the most remote age. They had been called interchangeably as duchaeah or duah. Control method of environmental conditions for soybean or mungbean sprouts growing had been already appreciated from long time ago. A growing method once developed might have been handed over considerable period. Siroo (시루) and yongsoo (용수) had been the most common containers and the watering skill is of the utmost importance for soybean sprouts growing. As the demand of soybean sprouts in the market increased, a pit has been used for bean sprouts growing, and transformed into regular soybean sprouts factory. Now bean sprouts are international food and the demand of bean sprouts seems permanent in Korea. Accordingly the long-term policy concerned with the production of soybean sprouts should be prepared, placing emphasis on improved quality and safety.

  • The standard theory of production treats human and non-human inputs in the same way. Inert Areas Theory drops this assumption. One distinction is obvious. Human capital, the source of human inputs, can not be purchased outright by firms. Usually what is purchased are units of labor time. What is critical is directed effort, at or beyond some level of skill. Direct effort, however, involves choice and motivation, and these are the critical variables left out of the standard theory. Leibenstein introduces the concept of "inert areas" by which he means "a set of effort positions whose associated levels of utility are not equal but in which the action required to go from a lower to a higher utility level involves a utility cost that is not compensated for by the gain in utility." This idea is used when discussing the behavior of firm's management.f firm's management.

  • This study is about the way of music composition which is based on S/W system and also shows the skill of moving image edit for using the composed music. The result of this contents informs the mixture of a composed music by the Midi program and a moving image for using by the S/W system, also guides many students that the Computer Music Composition and Image Edit is not a difficult sphere. It is not only a main subject but also a main goal of this study.

  • Traditional CVP (Cost-Volume-Profit) analysis employs linear cost and revenue functions within some specified time period and range of operations. Therefore CVP analysis is assumption of constant labor productivity. The use of linear cost functions implicity assumes, among other things, that firm's labor force is either a homogenous group or a collection homogenous subgroups in a constant mix, and that total production changes in a linear fashion through appropriate increase or decrease of seemingly interchangeable labor unit. But productivity rates in many firms are known to change with additional manufacturing experience in employee skill. Learning curve is intended to subsume the effects of all these resources of productivity. This learning phenomenon is quantifiable in the form of a learning curve, or manufacturing progress function. The purpose d this study is to show how alternative assumptions regarding a firm's labor force may be utilize by integrating conventional CVP analysis with learning curve theory, Explicit consideration of the effect of learning should substantially enrich CVP analysis and improve its use as a tool for planning and control of industry.

  • The founding purpose of Business Incubation System is to induce those businessmen who have technology and promising business ideas but are lacking fund, information, and management skill, and to speed up their business establishment and enhance the level of success by providing them with managerial knowledge, production technology, design, and equipment. While some universities made Business Incubation Center to achieve the above purpose, some other universities, especially the local ones, believed that Business Incubation Center, if managed successfully, could be an accelerator picking up the sluggish local economies. This study studied the motivators that let them move in an Incubating Center, their request for support, their level of expert utilization, and the role of head of a Center. This study found a significant level of correlation among the variables such as industrial-educational cooperation, the development of common items, utilization of professors with matching majors, utilization of research professors, and transfer of technology.

  • Many enterprises are performing the effective database applications with VAN(Value Added Network) or WAN(Web Added Network) . But it is very difficult and expensive. So we suggest low-cost database system within long distance area through personal computers. This system is very powerful for flexibility. It may be estimated it's value highly because they develop the program without high programming skill. This study would be used between company with company and/or between branch with branch, for example, customer claim information, inventory information, product order etc. It is important not importing document but importing data in document. Then end-user can accomplish analysis and decision-making with their own database. It would enhance productivity in many enterprises.

  • Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) skill is becoming a technology that might deliver a response to manual glitches. The use of tags, receiver and wireless surfs to join with each other would mean that RFID in combination with the EPC would speech these pain opinions and offer many welfares in different sectors such as production, distribution, trade, logistics, and security. Potential benefits include increased visibility rising supply chain, enlarged proficiency and cost savings through improved data harmonization, better responsiveness to actual prominence change. A Study on Production and Expansion for Environmentally Friendly Chestnuts in Korea (친환경 밤의 생산실태 및 확대방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study has the object of deriving schemes for not only securing safety of chestnuts, which is the most important forest product in terms of both production and exportation, to consumers with implementing persistent production of them in harmony with the environment, but also producing environmentally friendly chestnuts that can contribute to the increase of a farm household's income through price differentiation from other chestnuts, which are grown by generally accepted ways. In order to do this, I performed an analysis of the reality and outcome from the management of farm households that produce environmentally friendly chestnuts. The result of the analysis demonstrated some problems such as poor establishment of farming skills in a beginning stage, administrative problems with weeding operations and prevention of blight, difficulty in ensuring distribution channels and high production cost. Therefore, propelling productive expansion of environmentally friendly chestnuts after resolving these problems requires many supports and ideas: establishment and diffusion of farming skill system under the cooperation of civil and government organizations, construction of environmentally friendly INM (Integrated Nutrient Management) and IPM (Integrated Pest Management), creation of production areas for improving productivity, introduction of 'Institution of Income Conservation for Environmentally-Friendly Production' that can help farmers to preserve integrity of income on their switchover to production of environmentally friendly chestnuts from generally-grown chestnuts, and finally strong and persistent promotion of environmentally friendly chestnuts towards existing farmers and consumers.

Quantitative Flood Forecasting Using Remotely-Sensed Data and Neural Networks

  • Accurate quantitative forecasting of rainfall for basins with a short response time is essential to predict streamflow and flash floods. Previously, neural networks were used to develop a Quantitative Precipitation Forecasting (QPF) model that highly improved forecasting skill at specific locations in Pennsylvania, using both Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) output and rainfall and radiosonde data. The objective of this study was to improve an existing artificial neural network model and incorporate the evolving structure and frequency of intense weather systems in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States for improved flood forecasting. Besides using radiosonde and rainfall data, the model also used the satellite-derived characteristics of storm systems such as tropical cyclones, mesoscale convective complex systems and convective cloud clusters as input. The convective classification and tracking system (CCATS) was used to identify and quantify storm properties such as life time, area, eccentricity, and track. As in standard expert prediction systems, the fundamental structure of the neural network model was learned from the hydroclimatology of the relationships between weather system, rainfall production and streamflow response in the study area. The new Quantitative Flood Forecasting (QFF) model was applied to predict streamflow peaks with lead-times of 18 and 24 hours over a five year period in 4 watersheds on the leeward side of the Appalachian mountains in the mid-Atlantic region. Threat scores consistently above .6 and close to 0.8 ∼ 0.9 were obtained fur 18 hour lead-time forecasts, and skill scores of at least 4% and up to 6% were attained for the 24 hour lead-time forecasts. This work demonstrates that multisensor data cast into an expert information system such as neural networks, if built upon scientific understanding of regional hydrometeorology, can lead to significant gains in the forecast skill of extreme rainfall and associated floods. In particular, this study validates our hypothesis that accurate and extended flood forecast lead-times can be attained by taking into consideration the synoptic evolution of atmospheric conditions extracted from the analysis of large-area remotely sensed imagery While physically-based numerical weather prediction and river routing models cannot accurately depict complex natural non-linear processes, and thus have difficulty in simulating extreme events such as heavy rainfall and floods, data-driven approaches should be viewed as a strong alternative in operational hydrology. This is especially more pertinent at a time when the diversity of sensors in satellites and ground-based operational weather monitoring systems provide large volumes of data on a real-time basis.
