  • As the aging population has increased, the silver generation is getting to account for the considerable percent of economic activities and becomes the main body of production and consumption. Although the economic activity of silver generation is increased, the development of silver contents for the leisure activities is still not revitalized. The serious silver contents and the easy-to-use interface are very important because the silver generation is relatively weaker than young people in perception, studying, and exercise, and is fragile in mobility and vitality. This paper suggests methods to develop sensory bicycle, gate ball, and mole game contents haying lower body exercise effects for the silver generation to utilize leisure and maintain health. Along with fun as games, functional design factors suitable to the cognitive ability and bodily activity ability of the silver generation were considered and through sensory intefaces that are easy for the silver generation to use and customized progressing methods complying with individual characteristics, it was attempted to induce continued interests and lower body exercise effects.

  • This study examines the concept and characteristics of immersive theatres through previous studies. Immersive Theatres can be understood as a form of performance that breaks the boundaries between the stage and the auditorium in various spaces so that the audience can actively participate in the performance or immerse themselves sensibly. However, since it absorbs various art forms and continues to change and develop, it is important to recognize the concept by grasping its characteristics as an immersive experience rather than defining it as one. Based on the theoretical background of the concept and characteristics of the theatrical producers and immersive theatres, the producing immersive theatre < The Great Gatsby> is analyzed to derive differences between the immersive theatre and the general performances. In conclusion, it is important to recognize that immersive theatres have audiences at the center of all aesthetic performance environments. The role and position of the audience as a "passive consumer" change to an "active and creative consumer" in immersive theatres where the audience-centered immersive environment and experience are the key, and it was found that not only producers but also the creatives should change their perception of the audience and reflect it in the producing.

This study intended to discuss about the meaning of main elements of the architecture materials, its implications for properties, and, highlighted meaning of the properties of modern interior design. The purpose of this study is to analyze the case studies of Place and Physical materials of synaesthesia of modern architecture as well as modern architecture is not only concentrated in the visual aspect but also the larger ramifications of sensory. Synesthesia in architectural space can be called experiential existence that built in the space of human perception and based on the human emotion that targeted by physical architectural space. Accordingly, these case studies are to consider about how the materials being passed by any effect in a modern interior space presented, In order to find the essential meaning in modern interior space, this studies focused on Swiss architect Peter Zumthor's cases. Following analyze of Peter Zumthor's place of architectural space and materials, this study structured by the six kinds of synesthesia characters. First, time and remember to infer changes, Second, traditional and regional ingredients involve the substitution of one empirical space, Third, non-materiality through the neutralization, Fourth, auditory memory through the embodiment of everydayness, Fifth, trail through the sense of smell for the presence, Sixth, the relationship of natural and industrial products. Peter Zumthor's characteristics of these works are result of factors on the synesthetic relationship with the human response to architecture, the five senses, memories, experiences, and temperature. • Addressing the environmental impact of textile waste, this study explores upcycling as a sustainable fashion solution, particularly focusing on the upcycling of discarded fishing nets, which are a significant source of marine pollution. In 2018, South Korea alone produced 193.3 tons of clothing waste, refelcting a global trend, where textile waste exceedsed 92 million tons. The research methodology involved a literature review and case studies on upcycled fashion, focusing on discarded fishing nets. Designs for three outfits targeting women in their twenties were proposed and a survey was carried out to assess the their perception of upcycled fashion and the design's appeal and practicality. Under the theme, 'Marine Spirit,' the study aimed to raise awareness of marine pollution, drawing inspiration from the ocean's vibrant life. The designs diverge from the monotonous 'Casual Glam' trend, and incorporate vivid colors and asymmetrical structures for visual appeal. The practical application of fishing nets varied across the pieces, serving as fillers in transparent PVC padded coats and decorative elements in skirts and puff dresses. The distinctive properties of fishing nets provide a unique aesthetic, which resonated well with the target audience. Despite challenges in adopting eco-friendly dyeing methods and assessing mass production feasibility, the study underscores the need for continued research in sustainable textile processing. The study reaffirms the importance of sustainable fashion, highlighting the creative potential of fishing nets as a material.

  • Purpose - Offshoring has emerged as one of the major trends in international trade and has become one of the strategies for achieving competitiveness in the global market. In spite of this, the expected gains of offshoring can be offset by hidden costs and risks, such as those associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, the trade war between the USA and China, and the ongoing trade dispute between Korea and Japan. To obviate such business failure and prevent critical business blunders, offshoring strategies that efficiently consider both risk elements and potential wealth creation are urgently need. The first purpose of this study is to contribute to the development of more advanced offshoring strategies to help host countries select the best locations to manage supply chain risks and create unique value. The second purpose is to specifically analyze the current status of Korea and provide Korean companies with implications to be considered when deciding whether to offshore or re-shore. Design/methodology - A Network DEA model was applied to measure the comparative location efficiency of national competencies for offshoring strategy from perspectives of wealth creation opportunities (profitability and marketability) and supply chain risk management. The location efficiencies are compared among a total 70 countries selected from the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) and globally attractive locations outlined by Kearney (2017). For the secondary analysis of efficiency, a t-test examining the nature of competitive advantage and the level of sophistication in production processes was implemented in three divisions. We then analyzed differences in offshoring performance in terms of the identified national traits. Moreover, Tobit regression analysis is conducted to investigate the correlation between value-added business activities and each divisional efficiency, seeking to determine how each degree of value-added business activity influences the increase in offshoring productivity. Findings - Regarding overall location efficiency for offshoring performance, only the USA and Italy were identified as being efficient as host countries for offshoring, under circumstances of advanced development, such as productivity and risk management. Korea ranks 13th among 70 countries. The determinants of national competitiveness depend on national traits (the nature of competitive advantage and business sophistication). Countries with labor/resource advantages and labor-intensive industries are more competitive in terms of marketability than others. In contrast, countries with strong technology-intensive industries benefit offshoring companies, particularly in the technology sector, with the added advantage of supply chain risk management. As the perception of a value chain is broader in a country, it can achieve both production sophistication and competitive advantages such as marketability and SCRM. Originality/value - Existing studies focus on offshoring effectiveness from a company perspective. This paper contributes to comparing country efficiency in producing core competencies related to an offshoring strategy and also segments countries into three performance-based considerations associated with the global offshoring market. It also details Korea's position as an offshoring location according to national efficiency and competency.

  • By conceptualizing UCC users' active behavior, this study newly presents two key concepts, 'self-expression' and 'artistic activity' of UCC users. Then, this study suggests a research framework to analyze text, image, and video UCC adoption processes by integrating those concepts with already-built UCC research tradition. Using the framework, we found that individuals who has a hard time expressing themselves in reality are likely to have a favorable attitude toward UCC, and the stronger the faith about the justice of self-expression and its freedom, the more the favorable attitude toward UCC. Furthermore, we confirmed that individuals who are very interested in artistic activity, and individuals who has high self-efficacy to their artistic talent are likely to participates more in UCC production. The role of other factors such as perceived enjoyment, the perception of critical mass of UCC adoption, and subjective norm also were discussed with limitations of this study.

  • There are many recent monitor manufacturing firms not equipped with automatic checking system in their final process. And the check is based on the human perception, so the automatic checking system is needed for the consistency and the accuracy of the checking process to elevate the productivity and the quality. As the performance of computer systems and the vision systems has been increased, the cost for the system is reduced and their applicable algorithms have been developed. In this study we develop monitor checking system which is low-cost, fast, and easy to adopt by the small-scaled manufacturing films. The system is based on the computer vision techniques, and is equipped with the GUI interface and checking functions such as centering, yoke rotation, pincushion, sizing, brightness, and grayscale tracking. Monitor checking system developed in this study can be used in the final checking process thereby we expect the synergy effects both on the efficiency of production and on the reduction of the cost for the facility investments.

  • The realities of Climate change and its untold implications on the livelihood of man are no longer new worldwide. In attempts to subdue the negative implications of Climate change scenario globally, several measures have being suggested and being put in place. One of such measures is urban reforestation especially in the developing nations where forest resources have extremely and uncontrollably exploited. Most of cities in developing nations are almost devoid of regularly maintained trees for whatever purpose. Thus, the enormous roles which urban tree performs are lacked in most cities. In order to subdue excessive heat in cities arising from exposure of urban land areas urban reforestation exercise needs to be embarked upon. The investigation was carried out through desk studies and review of relevant publications to examine what it entails to have a sustainable reforestation programme in cities. The study revealed that several factors need to be taken into consideration if sustainable urban reforestation will be achieved, especially in developing countries. These factors include urban soil nutrients status investigation, appropriate tree type study, public perception about the tree types, relevant legal instrument to achieve successful reforestation exercise in cities among others were found to be salient to this exercise. Urban reforestation has enormous potentials to subdue Climate change consequences, including urban renewal if adequate provision is made for its sustainability, especially in developing countries. To ensure this is realized it is recommended that relevant ministry/agency could be put in charge for the maintaining, cutting and replanting of urban tree and all that are involved in urban tree sustainability.

  • Reactive oxygen species (ROS) serve as secondary messengers that regulate various developmental and signal transduction processes, with ROS primarily generated by NADPH OXIDASEs (referred to as RESPIRATORY BURST OXIDASE HOMOLOGs [RBOHs] in plants). However, the types and locations of ROS produced by RBOHs are different from those expected to mediate intracellular signaling. RBOHs produce O2•- rather than H2O2 which is relatively long-lived and able to diffuse through membranes, and this production occurs outside the cell instead of in the cytoplasm, where signaling cascades occur. A widely accepted model explaining this discrepancy proposes that RBOH-produced extracellular O2•- is converted to H2O2 by superoxide dismutase and then imported by aquaporins to reach its cytoplasmic targets. However, this model does not explain how the specificity of ROS targeting is ensured while minimizing unnecessary damage during the bulk translocation of extracellular ROS (eROS). An increasing number of studies have provided clues about eROS action mechanisms, revealing various mechanisms for eROS perception in the apoplast, crosstalk between eROS and reactive nitrogen species, and the contribution of intracellular organelles to cytoplasmic ROS bursts. In this review, we summarize these recent advances, highlight the mechanisms underlying eROS action, and provide an overview of the routes by which eROS-induced changes reach the intracellular space.
