  • In the 1950’s, after modernistic hospital is begun to build in our country, there were much changes in hospital construction plan such as function, scale, operation, technology for 40 years so far. Interest about 'Healing environment furtherance' which is one of basic function of hospital within these change is continued. Specially, concept about furtherance of healing environment limited in ward department in the early time is applied to hospital space magnificently whole coming at present. Entrance of hospital and change of Lobby may speak as the representative example. This interest about practically use of lobby is rising gradually. Lobby adds to existed concept of space to the importance revaluated. The first purpose of this study is to investigates main entrance and lobby of representative hospital in our country and to search change and present condition. The second purpose is hereupon to present necessary objective standard with direction of lobby plan in general hospital forward though this.

  • For a weighting method to be practically valid, it should produce weights which coincide with the relative importance of attributes perceived by the decision maker. In this paper, 'bootstrapping' is used to compare the practical validities of five weighting methods frequently used; the rank order centroid method, the rank reciprocal method, the rank sum method, the entropic method, and the geometric mean method. Bootstrapping refers to the procedure where the analysts allow the decision maker to make careful judgements on a series of similar cases, then infer statistically what weights he was implicitly using to arrive at the particular ranking. The weights produced by bootstrapping can therefore be regarded as well reflecting the decision maker's perceived relative importances. Bootstrapping and the five weighting methods were applied to a job selection problem. The results showed that both the rank order centroid method and the rank reciprocal method had higher level of practical validity than the other three methods, though a large difference could not be found either in the resulting weights or in the corresponding solutions.

  • Synchronous generators have been significantly applied in large-scale power plants and its monitoring systems are additionally established to sequentially observe states and outputs. We develop a computer based monitoring device for three-phase synchronous power generators in this paper. First, a test-bed of such generator system is created and then a interface board is constructed to transfer electric signals including the output voltage and the current from generators into a computer system via a data acquisition device. Its RMS(root-mean-square) values are continuously shown on a screen of computer systems and its time-histories graphs are additionally illustrated under a graphic user interface(GUI) mode. Lastly, we carry out real-time experiments using the generator system with the monitoring device to demonstrate its reliability and superiority by comparing results of a generic power analyzer which is well-used in measuring various power systems practically.

  • A web application running on the Internet is causing many difficulties for a program developer, and it requires to process multiple sessions at the same time due to the occurrence of excessive traffic. Web applications should be able to process concurrent requests efficiently and in real time. Node.js is a single-threaded server-side JavaScript environment implemented in C and C ++ as one of the latest frameworks to implement event models across the entire stack. Nodes implement JavaScript quickly and robust to achieve the best performance using a JavaScript V8 engine developed by Google. In this paper, it will be explained the operation principle of Node.js, which is a lightweight real-time web server that can be implemented in JavaScript for real-time responsive web applications. In addition, this application was practically implemented through automatic alignment system for group scheduling to demonstrate event-based real-time response web processing.

  • This paper deals with artificial neural network approach for automatic detection of severity level of stator winding fault in induction motor. The problem is faced through modelling and simulation of induction motor with inter coil shorting in stator winding. The sum of the absolute values of difference in the peak values of phase currents from each half cycle has been chosen as the main input to the classifier. Sample values from workspace of Simulink model, which are verified with experiment setup practically, have been imported to neural network architecture. Consideration of a single input extracted from time domain simplifies and advances the fault detection technique. The output of the feed forward back propagation neural network classifies the short circuit fault level of the stator winding.

  • In this paper, the band pass filter was designed and constructed for personal communication services of information facilities. For the band pass filter design, after dielectric resonator structures were analyzed. J-inverter design theory and its simulation method were studied. The parameters obtained from design theory were practically applied to filter construction. The simulation results are well agreed with the measured result of constructed filter after fine tunings.

  • Deep learning approach based on convolution neural network (CNN) has extensively studied in the field of computer vision. However, periocular feature extraction using CNN was not well studied because it is practically impossible to collect large volume of biometric data. This study uses the ResNet model which was trained with the ImageNet dataset. To overcome the problem of insufficient training data, we focused on the training of multi-layer perception (MLP) having simple structure rather than training the CNN having complex structure. It first extracts features using the pretrained ResNet model and reduces the feature dimension by principle component analysis (PCA), then trains a MLP classifier. Experimental results with the public periocular dataset UBIPr show that the proposed method is effective in person authentication using periocular region. Especially it has the advantage which can be directly applied for other biometric traits.

  • State estimators are used to monitor the operating states of power systems in modern EMS. It iteratively calculates the voltage profile of the currently operating power system with voltage, current, and power measurements gathered from the entire system. All the measurements are usually assumed to be obtained simultaneously. It is practically impossible, however, to maintain the synchronism of the measurement data. Recently, phasor measurements synchronized via satellite are used for the operation of these power systems. This paper describes the modified state estimator used to support the processing of synchronized phasor measurements. Synchronized phasor measurements are found to provide synchronism of measurement data and improve the accuracy/redundancy of the measurement data for state estimation. The details of the developed state estimation program and some numerical results of operation are presented.

  • This paper considers and suggests the life cycle of the power equipments installed in buildings. The target equipments were divided into 5 groups by a couple of conditions, and a theoretical consideration and domestic foreign case studies were carried out. As a result, the most appropriate life cycles and monitoring periods were suggested for each group. The suggested results are expected to practically help the field electricians determine whether they have to replace the deteriorated equipments or not.

  • This article presents the change characteristics of induced noise whether the sheath layer of the cable is grounded or not. As what affects the induced noise, there are power influence or longitudinal transverse voltages and its weighted filtered voltage. The sheath ground is basicaly predicted to have the effects of alleviation on the power influence. But practically the effects may not happen in the case of common cable's sheath layer. Rather there are cases that the ground of sheath affects so that the noise level could increase. So we need to scrutinize the effects of the sheath gorund in the measures for the protection against electromagnetic induction by powerline or traction line system. And the evaluation of using the designated shielding purpose cable is needed.
