A Study on the Considerations in Developing Guidelines for Recording Preferred Title of Music Works (음악저작 우선표제 기술 지침 개발시 고려사항에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to propose the considerations for developing the guidelines for recording a preferred title in musical works by analyzing the RDA rules and guidelines of several national libraries. First, RDA rules were analyzed, and the primary rules for consideration were examined by reviewing RDA application guidelines from eight national libraries that have developed their own guidelines for alternatives and options of RDA rules. Then, by analyzing the contents of each guideline, including MLA, LC-PCC, and DACH, practical considerations was to provide. First, the original language title should be adopted in the selection of preferred title, but if the title in the original language is not suitable for domestic users, the title in other languages should be used. Second, the preferred title was examined in aspects of works with one part, works with more than one part, the complete works of one author, the compilation of a specific type of composition, the incomplete compilation, and the compilation of several composers. Third, medium of performance, numeric numbers, key, and other identifying characteristics were presented as additional factors for consideration in the recording. Fourth, it is necessary to designate or present a control vocabularies for the types of compositions and the medium of performance. This study suggests considerations in developing guidelines for recording the preferred title for RDA musical works, and it will be possible to contribute to the development of rules related to preferred titles for musical works and guidelines for recording the preferred title for musical works in libraries.

Basic Properties and Solution Behavior of New Naturally Derived Cosmetic Preservative, and Stability of Cosmetic Formulation (신규 화장품용 천연유래 보존제의 물성 측정, 용액 거동 및 보존제 포함 화장품의 제형 안정성)

  • Cosmetic preservatives are an important class of ingredients in terms of ensuring sustainable use and providing customer satisfaction. Recently, a great deal of interest has been drawn to the production and use of toxic-free, naturally derived preservatives. In this work, a new naturally derived preservative (laurimino bispropanediol, LB) was developed to replace the most widely used diol preservatives, such as 1,2-hexanediol or 1,2-octanediol. The basic properties of the obtained preservative were measured, and the solution behavior of the preservative in an aqueous medium was examined. The feasibility of micelle formation in the preservative solution was investigated using the fluorescence (FL) based pyrene method. Micelle formation was feasible owing to the relatively long hydrophobic chains and increased hydroxyl groups in the preservative molecules. The emulsification capability of the preservative was assessed using the Rosano and Kimura method, showing that the preservative possessed emulsifying capability in an organic solvent (benzene) and soy bean oil. In addition, the dispersion stability of cosmetic formulations, including the new LB preservatives such as essence and lotion, was demonstrated by comparing the light transmittance of the formulations. This article provides important information for future research regarding the synthesis and practical applications of new toxic-free naturally derived preservatives.

  • In this study, we analyzed the status of safety management in industrial sites and fatal accident statistics to identify problems and suggest directions for increasing the utilization of convergence engineering. Current industrial site safety management is passive, formal, and unsystematic, and at the same time, the delivery of information on site safety management is very insufficient. In addition, domestic occupational safety and health education was not systematic and could not be considered effective as it was repeating past education forms. Recently, ICT technology has been introduced throughout the industry, and this study suggests several directions for the introduction of convergence safety engineering. Keke is the organization and operation of school curriculum in a convergent manner. In addition, we proposed a plan to apply VR content and experiential education so that safety management education can be conducted in a practical and realistic manner. Lastly, it was proposed to provide differentiated education by industry and type of work, taking into account the characteristics of various industrial sites. It is expected that the results of this study will be able to emphasize the need for convergence and integrated safety education for those involved in the field of domestic industrial safety management and education.

  • At present, our society is developing into the intelligent information society in the wave of the 4th industrial revolution, and this change will have the positive effect of innovating all industry fields. However, due to the duality of technology, there will be positive and negative effects. With intelligence, threats to cyber dysfunction such as hacking, terrorism, privacy infringement, and illegal content distribution will become more serious. Until now, the security system of the Internet has been a proactive security system, but in recent years, a proposal for a trust network, a preventive security system, has been introduced. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the possibility of resolving cyber dysfunction of intelligent information society about Bright Internet, one of trust network technologies. This study defines the cyber dysfunction of the intelligent information society and analyzes the perceptions of changes in the cyber dysfunction of the intelligent information society on the introduction of the five principles of the Bright Internet. The change of cyber dysfunction severity of the intelligent information society due to the introduction of the trust network is analyzed to reflect the technical and social demands. This work will guide the structure of the trust network and the direction of practical technological introduction and its influence.

The Relationship between Workplace Bullying and Depression: The Roles of Psychological Safety and Supervisor and Co-worker Compassion (직장 내 괴롭힘과 우울증의 관계: 심리적 안전감과 상사와 동료의 컴패션의 역할)

  • Employee well-being, along with its associated barriers and improvement strategies, has become an escalating concern for researchers and organizations worldwide. This study examined the mechanism behind workplace bullying and depression, exploring the role of psychological safety as a mediating factor. Additionally, we investigated the potential impact of organizational compassion, distinguishing between supervisor and co-worker compassion, as a means of supporting employees subjected to workplace bullying. Based on an analysis of 392 online survey responses from full-time employees in South Korea, our findings demonstrate that workplace bullying undermines psychological safety, resulting in increased depression rates among employees. As anticipated, supervisor compassion mitigated the adverse effect of workplace bullying, whereas co-worker compassion did not exhibit the same moderating effect. These results emphasize the importance of fostering a supportive and compassionate work environment led by supervisors to lessen the strain on employee well-being. Theoretical and practical implications, along with directions for future research, are discussed.

Power Distance Profiles in Organizations: A Cluster-Analytic Approach and Associations with Organizational Outcomes (조직과 개인의 권력거리 간 하위집단 탐색: 조직 결과 변인과의 관계)

  • This study aimed to investigate the influence of power distance on organizational outcome variables from the perspective of employee-organizational fit. Through cluster analysis, we sought to identify the subgroups that exist based on the combination of employees' power distance and organizational power distance. Additionally, we examined whether differences exist among these subgroups in terms of positive and negative organizational outcomes. A total of 398 participants were included in the study, and three distinct clusters were identified through cluster analysis. Cluster 1 comprised individuals with low power distance among employees and high power distance within the organization(LH), Cluster 2 consisted of individuals with high power distance in both employees and organizations(HH), and Cluster 3 represented individuals with significantly higher power distance among employees compared to their respective organizations(HL). When analyzing the differences between these three subgroups in relation to organizational outcomes, no significant differences were found in positive work affects. Overall, the LH group exhibited the most favorable organizational results, while the HH group displayed the most negative organizational outcomes. In light of these findings, we discussed the academic and practical implications of this study, as well as its limitations.

  • While discussions on ESG are actively taking place in Europe and other countries, the number of countries pushing for mandatory ESG information disclosure related to non-financial information of listed companies is rapidly increasing. However, as companies respond to mandatory global ESG information disclosure, problems are emerging such as the stringent requirements of global ESG disclosure standards, the complexity of data management, and a lack of understanding and preparation of the ESG system itself. In addition, it requires a reasonable analysis of how business management opportunities and risk factors due to climate change affect the company's financial impact, so it is expected to be quite difficult to analyze the results that meet the disclosure standards. In order to perform tasks such as ESG management activities and information disclosure, data of various types and sources is required and management through an information system is necessary to measure this transparently, collect it without error, and manage it without omission. Therefore, in this study, we designed an ESG data integrated management model to integrate and manage various related indicators and data in order to transparently and efficiently convey the company's ESG activities to various stakeholders through ESG information disclosure. A framework for implementing an information system to handle management was developed. These research results can help companies facing difficulties in ESG disclosure at a practical level to efficiently manage ESG information disclosure. In addition, the presentation of an integrated data management model through analysis of the ESG disclosure work process and the development of an information system to support ESG information disclosure were significant in the academic aspects needed to study ESG in the future.

An identification of determinants to the development of intrapreneurial intention in small & medium sized local hospital in South Korea

  • Purpose: The present study identified the determinants in the development of intrapreneurial intention in small and medium-sized local hospitals. A careful literature review led to the development of a conceptual model which identified two types of employee competence-individual competence and managerial competence-to influence intrapreneurial orientation positively. It was hypothesized that intrapreneurial orientation predicts intrapreneurial intention and is mediated by intrapreneurial commitment. Methodology/Approach: The target population was chosen from two medical institutions of 'D' Hospital and 'E' Geriatric Hospital in Changwon City, South Korea. Samples were collected from 299 respondents who completed a structured questionnaire. Findings: The results from a structural equation modeling statistical analysis indicated that (1) individual competence and managerial competence positively and significantly predict intrapreneurial orientation, (2) intrapreneurial orientation positively and significantly influences intrapreneurial intention, (3) intrapreneurial commitment partially mediates the relation of intrapreneurial orientation to intrapreneurial intention, and (4) the mediation effect of intrapreneurial commitment was significant in the medical-personnel group, but not in the non-medical group. Practical Implications: Overall findings from the present work provide vital insights into understanding the preconditions for developing employee intrapreneurship in small and medium-sized local hospitals.

  • This study addresses the crucial role of Christian Religious Education (CRE) amidst civic polarization, moral disimagination, and learned helplessness. It begins her personal background as a 1.5-generation Vietnamese American and her academic engagement in immigrant faith and the challenges of teaching faith in violent contexts. The work underscores the public dimension and impact of religious education, highlighting its potential for fostering critical capacities for public engagement. However, that study observes a prevalent disconnection between congregational culture and the aim of public engagement, leading to a form of learned helplessness among students and communities. The researcher draws on Paulo Freire's concepts of "critical hope" and the need for a curriculum that transcends mere content delivery to foster transformative engagement with societal issues. The document critiques the disimigination machine that undermines critical thinking and collective resistance, as articulated by Henry Giroux, and explores the concepts of "learned helplessness" as a barrier to environmental and social activism. The researcher advocates for a theopoetic and theopolitical approach to education that nurtures hope and practical engagement with the world's injustice. She emphasizes small acts of theopoetic and theopolitical hope as transformative practices, using an example from Ferguson, Missouri, to illustrate how public liturgy and protest can mediate hope and justice.   • This study seeks to shed light on the contributions of Horst Klaus Berg to German Bible didactics, underscoring the pivotal role of diverse interpretative approaches in the teaching and learning of the Bible. In an era where the complexities and intricacies of the Bible present significant challenges to contemporary readers, the prevalence of one-dimensional interpretations further obstructs the pathway to a profound comprehension of the spiritual depth embedded within its texts. By centering on Horst Klaus Berg's influential theories in the field of German Bible didactics, this research delves into the impact of varied biblical interpretations on Christian education. Berg's work is celebrated for its insightful strategies, notably his advocacy for comprehensive interpretative methods such as "Railway Tracks" and "Free-Learning." These approaches seek to reconcile traditional biblical teachings with individual experiences, thereby facilitating a more expansive understanding of the Bible's applicability to modern life. Through a detailed examination of Berg's theory on biblical interpretation, this paper argues that Christian education must prioritize the cultivation of diverse interpretative skills and their practical integration into Bible study. This educational model encourages learners to become active interpreters, capable of discerning the text's deep-seated meanings by relating it to their personal experiences. The study concludes by affirming Berg's delineation of three critical tasks in biblical interpretation: "reciprocal interpretation," "acknowledgment of the biblical texts' diversity," and "free learning." These elements are portrayed as interrelated and essential, reinforcing Berg's proposition that understanding the Bible's complexity and diversity is crucial for advancing Christian education. This paper offers a novel perspective on the significance of embracing multifaceted interpretations within the domain of biblical studies.
