Attitudes toward Artificial Intelligence of High School Students' in Korea (한국 고등학생의 인공지능에 대한 태도)

  • With the advent of an intelligent information society, research toward artificial intelligence education was conducted. In previous studies, the subject of research is biased, and studies that analyze attitudes toward artificial intelligence are insufficient. So, in this study developed a test tool to measure the artificial intelligence of high school students and analyze their attitudes toward artificial intelligence. To develop the test tool, 229 high school students completed a preliminary test, of which the results were analyzed via exploratory factor analysis. To analyze the students' attitudes toward artificial intelligence, the resulting test tool was applied to 481 high school students, and their test results were analyzed according to factors. From the study's results, there was no difference according to gender in the students' attitudes toward artificial intelligence, but there was a significant difference per grade. In addition, there was a significant difference in attitudes according to artificial intelligence-related experiences: the high school students who had direct and indirect experience with artificial intelligence, programming, and more frequently used it had more positive attitudes toward artificial intelligence than students without this experience. However, artificial intelligence education experience negatively influenced the students' attitudes toward artificial intelligence. Overall, the higher their interest in artificial intelligence, the more positive the high school students' attitudes toward artificial intelligence.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between psychomotorik and brain function in domestic and foreign literature, and to clarify the mechanism of psychomotorik from the viewpoint of brain science, and to provide the teachers, therapists, The purpose of this study is to provide basic data which can enhance the understanding of the mechanism of psychomotorik. From the viewpoint of brain science, the study of domestic and foreign literature related to the mechanism of psychomotorik and the positive learning environment and various physical experiences in early life through the movement of psychomotorik are very important from the brain physiological point of view. The results of this study showed that the more the children move, the more the learning is improved and the healthy emotional control ability is improved and the brain is more likely to be optimized. Therefore, it is considered that this study, which has been studied through the brain science approach, provided very important basic information to understand the relation between movement of psychomotorik and brain function. In particular, understanding the possibility of optimizing the brain by cultivating a healthy emotional control ability and improving learning as children move more and more is considered to be a necessary process for educating our children well in the future. Until now, research on psychomotorik and brain function was lacking. Through this study, I hope that more people will have an opportunity to expand their understanding of the psychomotorik.

Needs and Directions for Developing Localization Materials in Geology in Elementary Science Textbooks : Focused on the Unit of 'Strata and Fossils' (초등과학 교과서 지질 분야의 지역화 자료 개발의 필요성과 방향 : '지층과 화석' 단원을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore needs and the direction for the development of localization data in the geological field of elementary school. Many studies show that geology-related learning is highly effective in the form of direct learning, and It is reported that this learning has a positive effect on students' scientific attitudes. As such, the first-hand experience of the geological learning is outdoor geology learning and is the basis and core of the development of localization materials. However, the analysis of this study shows that the development of outdoor geology learning site is mainly conducted in some regions. In addition, considering that geological sites are distributed evenly throughout Korea, it is necessary to actively develop geological-related localization materials to learn elementary school geology-related units. In addition, some areas where outdoor geological study grounds were developed are composed only of learning places and no specific learning materials have been developed. In this regard, not only geological researchers but also field teachers working in the area need much effort. Development of localization material in the geological field needs to be developed at the level of material presented in the geology unit of the textbook. And in the actual class, it is desirable to use the textbook data and the developed localization data at the same time. In addition, the development of the outdoor geology field should be developed in consideration of the pre-experience-post activities so that learners can have various geological experiences.

Diagnostic Image Feature and Performance of CT and Gadoxetic Acid Disodium-Enhanced MRI in Distinction of Combined Hepatocellular-Cholangiocarcinoma from Hepatocellular Carcinoma

  • Purpose: To find diagnostic image features, to compare diagnostic performance of multiphase CT versus gadoxetic acid disodium-enhanced MRI (GAD-MRI), and to evaluate the impact of analyzing Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) imaging features, for distinguishing combined hepatocellular-cholangiocarcinoma (CHC) from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Materials and Methods: Ninety-six patients with pathologically proven CHC (n = 48) or HCC (n = 48), diagnosed June 2008 to May 2018 were retrospectively analyzed in random order by three radiologists with different experience levels. In the first analysis, the readers independently determined the probability of CHC based on their own knowledge and experiences. In the second analysis, they evaluated imaging features defined in LI-RADS 2018. Area under the curve (AUC) values for CHC diagnosis were compared between CT and MRI, and between the first and second analyses. Interobserver agreement was assessed using Cohen's weighted κ values. Results: Targetoid LR-M image features showed better specificities and positive predictive values (PPV) than the others. Among them, rim arterial phase hyperenhancement had the highest specificity and PPV. Average sensitivity, specificity, and AUC values were higher for MRI than for CT in both the first (P = 0.008, 0.005, 0.002, respectively) and second (P = 0.017, 0.026, 0.036) analyses. Interobserver agreements were higher for MRI in both analyses (κ = 0.307 for CT, κ = 0.332 for MRI in the first analysis; κ = 0.467 for CT, κ = 0.531 for MRI in the second analysis), with greater agreement in the second analysis for both CT (P = 0.001) and MRI (P < 0.001). Conclusion: Rim arterial phase hyperenhancement on GAD-MRI can be a good indicator suggesting CHC more than HCC. GAD-MRI may provide greater accuracy than CT for distinguishing CHC from HCC. Interobserver agreement can be improved for both CT and MRI by analyzing LI-RADS imaging features.

The Effect of Good Death Awareness and Attitude Toward Care Of Dying on Empathy Capacity among Nursing Students (간호대학생의 좋은 죽음 인식과 임종간호태도가 공감역량에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was a descriptive research study conducted to determine how nursing students' good death awareness and nursing attitudes toward dying patients affect their empathy. The subjects of the study were 155 nursing students, and data were collected using an online survey method. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression using the IBM SPSS Statistics 26. Higher attitude toward care of dying (B=.312) had a statistically significant positive effect on empathy capacity (p<.010). The variables that affected nursing students' empathy capacity were end-of-life experiences of relatives (𝛽=.226) and attitude toward care of dying (𝛽=.220). The regression model was statistically significant (F=6.968, p<.001), explained 10.4% of empathy. This study is expected to be used as basic data for the development of programs to strengthen the empathy capacity of nursing students in the future.

A Case Study on the Visually Impaired Secondary Students' Conception of the Changes of State of Water (시각장애 중고등학생의 물의 상태변화 개념에 대한 사례 연구)

  • In this study, visually impaired secondary students' conception of "changes of state of water" was explored. Science inquiry activity for students with visual impairments was implemented to 16 middle school students and 15 high school students from school for the blind. 14 of them were totally blind, 13 had low vision and the others were not identified. Inquiry activities were conducted by communicating with the researcher while students were individually exploring the molecular models of water and ice developed for the study. After the exploration, students were asked to explain the concept of changes of state of water with the model they explored. Opinion on the need and the usability of this kind of tactile model was also asked to them. All conversations were recorded, transcribed, and analyzed. As a result, students with visual impairments answered exactly about the materials used for the model and their numbers. However, they didn't know what the model stood for. They had experiences of learning molecule of water and changes of state of water, but it was a phenomenon and superficial understanding. Students got to understand the molecular structures of water and ice, and had a positive perception on the need and the usability of the model. Based on these results, educational implications were discussed.

Analysis of Perceptions of Teachers on Teaching "Changes in the Positions of the Sun and Moon during the Day" ('하루 동안 태양과 달의 위치 변화' 지도에 대한 교사의 인식 분석)

  • This study aims to help elementary school teachers increase their knowledge about the changes in the positions of the sun and moon during the day and the first time the moon observation begins in the Earth and Space section of the Earth and the Moon. The survey questions were grouped into four categories, namely, textbook explanation, inquiry activities, achievement of learning goals, and other opinions. The perception of each question differed according to advanced science majors and teaching careers and experiences of this unit. In addition, understanding the diverse views of the participants using descriptive questions was possible. The study recruited 67 teachers working at an elementary school in Gyeonggi-do. The conclusion is as follows. First, the teachers exhibited similar positive and negative perceptions about the description of the textbook on the changes in the positions of the sun and moon during the day. Second, the study found that majority of teachers used alternative methods when guiding students regarding the change in the positions. This trend was not correlated with the sun and the moon, and the study observed no difference in advanced majors and teaching careers and experience of this unit. Third, the majority of teachers responded that they could achieve their learning goals through this learning. However, many teachers complained of various difficulties in guiding students about the lesson, and the majority alternative methods. The results demonstrated the perception of teachers that students can achieve learning goals through alternative methods without direct observation.

An Analysis of High School Students' Activity on Problem-finding in III-structured Scientific Problem Situation (낮게 구조화된 과학적 문제 상황에서 고등학생들의 문제발견 활동 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to suggest an instructional direction for improving scientific problem-finding ability. For this purpose, the present study made an in-depth analysis about activity on problem finding tasks of high school students in an ill-structured scientific problem situation. Subjects were divided into two groups (cooperative and individual) and two kinds of problem finding tasks were administered to two groups. Results indicated that a cooperative activity on problem finding happened to a series of steps exploring problem situation, expressing knowledge and experience, discussing provisional problems, creating various problems and selecting the best problem. Besides, a cooperative activity on problem finding depended heavily on prior knowledge and experience, and in the meantime, various scientific concepts turned out to naturally be expressed. As for the problems found out during a cooperative activity, their scores in creativity factors, including the degree of agreement in original problem selection came out to be on the whole, as excellent. In addition, the types of the problems found out in open problem situation showed that they were more various than those found out in closed problem situation. Subjects perceived that activity on problem finding had positive influence on scientific concept and science process skills. Findings of this study have the following educational implications: First, it is needed to prepare for educational environment that enables students to explore various knowledge and information. Second, the offering of various opportunities is needed to enlarge the scope of scientific knowledge and experience. Third, it is needed to prepare for a study atmosphere that lets students express their knowledge and experiences freely.

Compilation of Books on Military Arts and Science and Ideology of Military Science in the late Joseon Dynasty (조선(朝鮮) 후기(後期)의 병서(兵書) 편찬(編纂)과 병학(兵學) 사상(思想))

  • In this paper, the writer investigated the thoughts on military art and science with a focus on the typical books on military art and science, which was published in the latter period of Joseon, and the discussion of literati in that time. Joseon had been happy to enjoy the piping times of peace for about 200 years ever since the establishment of the dynasty. However, having had to gone through two major wars, the Joseon Dynasty, revolving around scholarly people, had awakened the limits of military art and science of Joseon. It can be said that the countermeasure against Japanese pirates, which were reflected in the "Jingbirok" (懲毖錄 - Records of the 1592 Japanese Invasion) written by Yu Seong-ryong, and the experiences of war had formed the basis of the thoughts on military art and science in the latter period. Regrettably, there were no suggestions or proposals of preparing countermeasure against Japanese raiders in the books of military art and science in the early period of the Joseon Dynasty. Meanwhile, as the argument about the battle formation in the early period of Joseon, the process of establishing the military science had not gone smoothly in the latter period of Joseon. Right after the Japanese invasion of 1592, "Gihyo-Sinseo" (紀效新書 - New Text of Practical Tactics written by Cheok Gye-gwang) was brought into the country by the army of Ming (明) Dynasty. At first, this was used in the form of its original edition, or of abstract version in the military drill. But, later, it was published under the title of "Byeonghak-jinam" (兵學指南 - Military Training Manual about Action Rules by combat situation). This book, same as in Zhejian (浙江) province in China, had achieved a positive effect on counteracting the Japanese raiders in our country. However, these military tactics were conflicted with "Owi Jinbeop" - Rules of Deployment of the Five Military Commands, which had been handed down ever since the early period of the Joseon Dynasty, and, at the same time, it was pointed out that those tactics would not be able to apply to the situation uniformly, since Korea and China were geographically different. Furthermore, having gone through Manchu Invasion of 1636 (丙子胡亂, Byeongja horan) Joseon had used "Yeonbyeongsilgi" (練兵實記 - the Actual Records of Training Army), which was compiled in China on the basis of the experiences of wars against the nomad, including Mongolia and so on. And, this had become a typical training manual together with "Byeonghak-jinam". King Yeong Jo and King Jeong Jo of the Joseon Dynasty had tried to establish uniformity in military training by publishing the books of military science representing the latter period of Joseon such as "Sokbyeongjangdoseol" (續兵將圖說- Revision of the Illustrated Manual of Military Training and Tactics,) "Byeonghaktong" (兵學通 Book on Military Art and Science,) "Byeonghakjinamyeonui" (兵學指南演義 - Commentary on 'Byeonghak-jinam') and "Muyedobotongji"(武藝圖譜通志 - Comprehensive Illustrated Manual of Martial Arts,) and so on. King Jeong Jo had actively participated in the arguments in those days. So then the arguments that had been continued for about 200 years, ever since King Seon Jo, put to an end. To sum up the distinctive features of military art and science in both former and latter period of the Joseon Dynasty, in the former period of Joseon, the reasoning military science was proceeded with the initiative of civic official based on "Mugyeongchilseo"(武經七書- the Seven Military Classics). However, in the latter period of Joseon, "Gihyo-Sinseo"(紀效新書 - New Text of Practical Tactics written by Cheok Gye-gwang) had served as a momentum, and also comparatively a large numbers of military official had participated in arguments, so then such an occasion had made the military science turn into the Practical Theory. Meanwhile, King Sejo and King Jeong Jo had played a leading role in the process of establishing the theory of military science of Joseon, however, there are something in common that their succession to the throne was not smooth. Evaluation of the Behavior and Satisfaction of College Students for Family Restaurants in Seoul.Kyunggi Area (수도권 대학생들의 패밀리 레스토랑에 대한 이용 성향과 만족도 평가)

  • This study surveyed university students in the Seoul area regarding their awareness of family restaurants and visiting experiences. Frequency analysis was used to study the data. Most of the repliers (92.0%) had visiting experiences and visited on weekends (72.4%), paying \$10,000{\sim}15,000$ for meals. In correlation analysis of the general characteristics and reasons for visiting, there were significant differences according to gender (p<0.01) and major study area (p<0.005). During visits the factor considered most important relative to the surroundings was food styling. The factors valued most highly when selecting a family restaurant were "good taste" (43.5%) and "good discounts" (26.3%) respectively. The favorite family restaurant was Outback Steakhouse (34.7%), and 86.4% of repliers had used a membership card, with 46.9% being satisfied with using the membership card. The conditions for using a family restaurant and satisfaction differences in each category, included: the amount of food (p<0.1) for the number of visits, taste (p<0.01), food shape and styling (p<0.05), surroundings (p<0.1), and interior (p<0.05): and for the meal fee per person, price (p<0.05) and sanitation (p<0.05), all showing significant differences as reasons for using the restaurants. In the factor analysis of nine categories, three factors: service, food, and economics were acquired, and their Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ values were 0.778, 0.671, and 0.587. Satisfaction toward food and service had a positive correlation of 0.457. Satisfaction toward food and economics increased a family restaurant's overall satisfaction score, and satisfaction toward service did not have a significant influence.
