폴리머 부싱의 기밀성 향상을 위한 FRP tube/flange의 열팽창 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Thermal Expansion of FRP tube/flange for improved tightness Characteristics of Polymer Bushing)

  • In this describes the results of a study on the thermal expansion of FRP tube/flange for improved tightness characteristics of polymer bushing. The thermal expansion of FRP tube and flange were investigated. The thermal expansion of flange, FRP tube were studied by TGA, TMA. AS winding tension is increased glass fiber contents was increased in the range of 70.89~78.74 and thermal expansion coefficient was decreased in the range of 29.90~13.50.

  • Polymer induced turbulent drag reduction achieved by adding minute amounts of high molecular weight DNAs in aqueous solution was investigated using a rotating disk apparatus. The DNAs in this study include ${\lambda}-DNA$ and calf-thymus (CT) DNA. By putting emphasis on effect of CT-DNA concentration, its DR characteristics were compared with that of ${\lambda}-DNA$ possessing monodisperse molecular weight characteristics based on both DR efficiency and a mechanical degradation under turbulence. The DNA chains having much higher molecular size than that of ${\lambda}-DNA$ are observed to be more susceptible to mechanical degradation in a turbulent flow. This result was verified via electrophoresis. Furthermore, the coil to globule phase transition of DNA was also investigated under a turbulent flow.

  • The pi-cell [1] is known as one of the candidates for a fast response time and a good viewing angle characteristics due to a self-compensated configuration and can be a replaceable mode instead of the current TN mode and the IPS mode for moving picture in future. This paper shows the optimized condition to maintain bend state instead of splay state, which is mortal demerit for good optical properties in a pi-cell, by using the polymer stabilized method [2]. The good electro-optical characteristics are also obtained by optimizing the various factors, which are monomer concentration in a LC, UV intensity, curing time, curing voltage, and curing temperature, and by using retardation film. We use a scanning electron microscope to study the structures of the polymer stabilized polymer network in a pi-cell as a key to figure out why bend state is occurred.

고분자 수지를 이용한 자동차 에어컨용 압축기의 씰에 관한 연구 (A Study on Compressor Seal for Automotive Air-conditioner using Polymer Resin)

  • The existing compressor steel seal used in automotive air-conditioner has the problem of oil leakage and deterioration in shielding performance, due to the abrasion and corrosion of the material. A new type of polymer resin seal studied in this research has the characteristics of high anti-abrasiveness and anti-corrosiveness, which can oversome the defects of the steel seal. In addition, the seal needs lower manufacturing cost and is appropriate to mass production, because it is made by the injection molding method requiring no mechanical processing. The profile generation program for seal mold has been developed using the gradient method, and the molding characteristics of the seal have analyzed through the flow analysis and the warpage analysis. The program has been verified by comparing the analysis results with the measured data of the test product. The research might be said to provide the basic method to produce the polymer resin seals with various types and dimensions.

  • To fabricate a hydrocarbon polymer electrolyte composite membrane incorporated with Pt nanoparticle, the polymer electrolyte membrane made of a sulfonated-fluorinated hydrophilic-hydrophobic block copolymer (SFBC) and sulfonated poly (ether ether ketone) (SPEEK) blend in the wight ratio of 1 : 1 was synthesized, and a simple drying process was used in order to incorporate Pt nanoparticle into the SFBC/SPEEK film by reducing platinum (II) bis (acetylacetonate), Pt $(acac)_2$. The distribution of the Pt nanoparticles was observed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and mechanical and thermal properties were tested by universal testing machine (UTM) and thermogravimetry analyzer (TGA). Cation conductivity, ion exchange capacity (IEC) and I-V characteristics were estimated.

  • This paper aims to investigate the characteristics of braided thermoplastic and thermosetting composite and pressure relief for polymer arrester. In general, braided composite has potential for improved impact and delamination resistance. Manufacturing processes of the braided composite could also be automated and could potentially lead to lower costs. Therefore, in consideration of characteristics of pressure relief for polymer arrester, the fabric pattern of braided composite was studied. And polymer arrester module was manufactured with braid.

Cure Characteristics, Mechanical Property and Ozone Resistance of Natural Rubber/Bromo Isobutylene Isoprene Rubber Blend

  • Natural rubber (NR) and bromo-isobutylene-isoprene rubber (BIIR) were compounded with other formulation chemicals through polymer blending via a mechanical mixing method. After rubber vulcanization by hot-press compression molding, the cure characteristics, mechanical properties, and ozone resistance of the NR/BIIR blends were measured. As the BIIR content increased, the maximum torque of the blends decreased, while the optimum cure time and scorch time tended to increase. Furthermore, the hardness of the blends increased with increasing BIIR content, reaching the maximum value at 75 wt% BIIR, and decreased with a further increase in the BIIR loading. The tensile strength and elongation at break decreased with an increase in the BIIR content, reaching the minimum value at 75 wt% BIIR, and increased with a further increase in the BIIR content. In the ozone resistance test, cracks were not generated when the BIIR content was more than 75 wt%.

휨 하중을 받는 재생 PET 폴리머 콘크리트의 인장크리프 모델 (Tension Creep Model of Recycled PET Polymer Concrete with Flexural Loading)

  • In recent years, polymer concrete based on polyester resin have been widely generalized and the research of polymer concrete have been actively pursued by the technical innovations. Polymer concrete is a composite consisting of aggregates and an organic resin binder that hardens by polymerization. Polymer concrete are stronger by a factor of three or more in compression, a factor of four to six in tension and flexural and a factor of two in impact when compared with portland cement concrete. In view of the growing use of polymer concrete, it is important to study the physical characteristics of the material, emphasizing the short term properties as well as long term mechanical behavior. If polymer concrete is to be used in flexural load-bearing application such as in beam, it is imperative to understand the deformation of the material under sustained loading conditions. This study is proposed to empirical and mechanical model of polymer concrete tension creep using long-term experimental results and mathematical development. The test results showed that proposed model has been used successfully to predict creep deformations at a stress level that was 20 percent of the ultimate strength and viscoelastic behavior of recycled-PET polymer concrete is linear of stress level up to 30 percent. It is expected that the present model allows more realistic evaluation of varying stresses in polymer concrete structures with a constant loading.

  • In this paper, the modeling and control of electrostrictive polymer is introduced for endoscopic microcapsule. The endoscopic microcapsule works in the body, so the material of robot must be no harmful to the body. The electrostrictive polymer satisfies this condition. The modeling and control of endoscope microcapsule must be processed. So the modeling and control of electrostrictive was processed preferentially. The electrostrictive polymer is so flexible that we considered the electrostrictive polymer as flexible membrane. The dynamic equation of flexible membrane is time variant in electrostrictive polymer. It is the reason that the elastic modulus of electrostrictive polymer is very small and changes as deformation of electrostrictive polymer. The control algorithm must overcome these characteristics. So the algorithm of adaptive fuzzy control was used to control. In this paper, we introduced the dynamic modeling and control of electrostrictive polymer. And its deformation is introduced.

  • Lightweight foamed concrete is a concrete which is lighter than normal concrete by mixing prefoamed foam in cement slurry. The objective of this study are to develop prefoamed optimal lightweight foamed concrete using polymer foam agent and to obtain its mechanical characteristics experimentally. This paper presents extensive test data on young's modulus, poisson's ratio, stress-strain curve, the characteristics of strength of the foamed concrete and also presents the mechanical characteristics of the foamed concrete according to foam sizes.
