  • In order to execute efficiently the free vibration analysis of 2-dimensional structures like plate structures, the author developed the finite element-transfer stiffness coefficient method. This method is based on the combination of the modeling techniques in the FEM and the transfer technique of the stiffness coefficient in the transfer stiffness coefficient method. Numerical results of the simply supported and the elastic supported rectangular plates showed that the present method can be successfully applied to the free vibration analysis of plate structures on a personal computer. We confirmed that, in the case of analyzing the free vibration of rectangular plate structures, the present method is superior to the FEM from the viewpoint of computation time and storage.

  • In this paper, a numerical case study is carried out on the hydroelastic vibration of rectangular plate with various fluid field. It is assumed that the tank wall is clamped along the plate edges. The VMM(Virtual Mass Method) of Nastran is used for the simulation of fluid domain and calculating natural frequency of fluid-coupled structure. In this paper, natural frequencies are calculated and compared for rectangular plates with various fluid field such as infinite fluid and finite fluid, length change of finite fluid field and various fluid contacting conditions.

  • In this study, the failure of the automotive clutch disk was investigated. During the process of power transmission, clutch disk plates did repeated work of releasing and engaging the pressure plate. The effects of unbalance rotation in the abnormal vibration and torque amplitude under engaged state were measured from this experiment. In order to reduce the unbalance, a modified clutch disk shape was developed. With a three-dimensional model of the stopper pin, to predict fatigue fracture, finite element analysis was carried out and evaluated the improvement of the new clutch disk.

  • Recently, as size of building structure becomes larger, mat area of building structure is supported on Inhomogeneous foundation. The equipment machineries in building are mostly on basement story. The slab of the lowest basement story with equipment machineries is considered as plate supported on foundation with concentrated masses. In this paper, vibration analysis of rectangular thin plate is done by use of rectangular finite element with 4 nodes. The solution of this paper are compared with existing solution and natural frequencies of thin plates, with concented mass, on inhomogeneous Pasternak foundation are calculated

  • This paper is concerned with the development of the vibration isolation system using piezoelectric actuators and sensors. The active vibration absorber system consists of 4 pairs of PZT actuators bonded on aluminum plates. Hence, the active system is directly connected to the passive system. The rubber attached to the end of the beam is connected to the upper base as a structural member. It allows bending thus maximizing the vertical movement generated by the piezoceramic actuators. The piezoceramic sensors consists of 4 PZT sensors known to tilting, rolling and vertical movement. This paper also presents the development and the movement of the system.

  • In this study, the exact rigidity and the free vibration of trapezoidal corrugated plate are analyzed by being based on the Kirchhoff's plate theory and the Ritz method. The previous rigidity of corrugated plate analyzed by considering just a geometric characteristic, a basic assumption and an equivalent idea can cause large errors in practical behaviors. Accordingly, the exact rigidity supplemented by correction factors of the theoretical rigidity is needed. Therefore an analysis on the exact rigidity and the free vibration using the rigidity for the plate is performed in this paper.

  • When the motion of vibrating structure is restrained due to the adjacent objects, the frequencies and the mode shapes of the structure change and its vibration characteristics becomes unpredictable, in general. Although the importance of the study on this type of vibration model increases in many engineering areas, most studies conducted so far are limited to the theoretical study on dynamic responses of the structure with the separation plate, including some experimental works. In the paper, both numerical analyses and experiments are conducted to study the chaotic vibration characteristics and the dynamic response of a fixed-free beam which has restrained motion at the free end by the separation plates. Results are presented for various magnetic forces and gaps between stops.

  • This paper is analysis of opening thick plate on foundation. This paper has the object of investigating natural frequencies of opening thick plates on pasternak foundation by means of finite element method and providing Kinematic design data for mat of building structures. In this paper, vibration analysis of rectangular opening thick plate is done by use of Serendipity finite element with 8 nodes by considering shearing strain of plate. It is shown that natural frequencies depend on not only Winkler foundation Parameter but also shear foundation parameter, opening position, opening size.

  • Recently, demands for the reduction of noise generated by transformers have been increasing. Almost all the noise generated by a transformer is a result of magnetostrictive vibration in the core. The noise radiates into the atmosphere from the tank through the insulation oil. One method of reduction such a noise is to build a free-standing enclosure of concrete and steel plates around the transformer. However, this method has some disadvantages, for example, a large area is needed for equipment installation. In this paper, the vibration and noise effects which is transferred from reinforce channel to insulation panel generated by transformer have been identified for the several kinds of insulation panel shape and damping sheet experimentally.
