  • In this paper the system called the inverse model compensation system is proposed as a system whose input-output transfer function can be regarded as that of a model with uncertainty in spite of including an unknown plant. And their to construct the robust model following system, which is of low sensitivity and robust stability, in order to control the inverse model compensation system is proposed. The simulation experiments show that the robust model following system including the inverse model compensation system is practical and useful as a system which controls unknown plants.

  • Explicit state-space formulate for an H$_{.inf}$ based two-degrees-of-freedom robust controller are derived in discrete-time. The controller provides robust stability against coprime factor uncertainty, and a degree of robust performance in the sense of making the closed-loop system match a prespecified reference model. It is shown that the controller consists of a plant observer, the chosen reference model, and a generalized state feedback law associated with the plant and model states. The controller structure is shown to be relatively simple and thus may reduce the computational load on the digital control processor.

  • We consider a feedback control system including interval plant where uncertain parameters expressed in the hyperrectangular box X. Here we define the maximum value of the integral of the error(ISE) as the worst performance index(WPI) due to the plant parameter uncertainty. Suppose that the closed loop system retains robust stability and it belongs to type I. Then we show that the WPI occurs only on the exposed edges of Q. In particular, it is also shown that if ISE is a convex function relative to X, the WPI is attained at one of vertices of X. Some examples are given.

  • Time delay observer (TDO), thanks to the time delay control (TDC) concept, requires little knowledge of a plant model, and hence is easy to design, robust to parameter variation and computationally efficient, yet can reconstruct states rather reliable for nonlinear plant. In this paper, we propose an improved version of TDO that solves two problems inherent in TDO as follows: TDO displays large reconstruction errors due to low-frequency uncertainty and has some restrictions on selecting its gains. By introducing a low pass filter and a state associated with it, we obtain an enhanced time delay observer (ETDO). This observer turns out to have smaller reconstruction errors than those of TDO and not to have any restriction on selecting its gains, thereby solving the problems. Through performance comparison by transfer function and simulation, we validate the analysis results of two observers (TDO and ETDO) and evaluate the performances. Finally, through experiments on BLDC motor system, the analysis results are clearly conformed.

  • This paper presents an adaptive PID control scheme for nonlinear system. TSK(Takagi-Sugeno-Kang) fuzzy model is used to estimate the error of control input, and the parameters of PID controller are adapted using the error. The parameters of TSK fuzzy model also adapted to plant. The proposed algorithm allows designing adaptive PID controller which Is adapted to the uncertainty of nonlinear plant and the change of parameters. The usefulness of the proposed algorithm is also certificated by the several simulations.

  • In nuclear power plant, the reactor cooling system has maintained high-Reynolds-number flow above 1E+07 to cool a heat generated by the reactor. To minimize uncertainty for flow calibration, it is necessary to simulate the high Reynolds' number flow. Y-connection is selected to connect four (4) parallel high flow circulation pumps for maintaining the high flow rate. This paper describes the characteristics for Y-connection by computer flow simulation. It was confirmed through the results that the pressure loss of the Y-connection was lower than that of T-connection. Also as the connection angle of Y-connection was small, as the pressure loss was low.

  • For major nuclear power plant components periodic inspections and integrity assessments are needed for the safety. But many flaws are undetectable due to sampling inspection. Probabilistic integrity assessment is applied to take into consideration of uncertainty and variance of input parameters arise due to material properties, applied load and undetectable flaws. This paper describes a Probabilistic Fracture Mechanics(PFM) analysis based on Monte Carlo(MC) algorithms. Taking important parameters as probabilistic variables such as fracture toughness, crack growth rate and flaw shape, failure probability of major nuclear power plant components is archived as a results of MC simulation. For the verification of these analysis, a comparison study of the PFM analysis using other commercial code, mathematical method is carried out and a good agreement was observed between those results.

  • In this paper, we consider an iterative learning control system(ILCS) consisting of an iterative learning controller, a feedback controller and a controlled plant in the frequency domain. At first, we review the convergence of ILCS. And we give some design guidelines of the ILCS using a nominal model of the plant. Then we present the structured and the unstructured uncertainty bound which guarantees the convergence of the designed iterative learning controller. In particular, we analyze the relationship between the convergence and the magnitude and phase uncertainties. In order to show the usefulness of the proposed analysis and design guidelines, we present some simulation examples. (author). 13 refs., 5 figs.

  • Uncertainties in core neutronic calculations of CASMO-3/MASTER, which is a KAERI developed core nuclear design code system, were evaluated via comparisons with measured data. Comparisons were performed with plant measurement data from one Westinghouse type and one ABB-CE type plant and two Korean standard type plants. The CASMO-3/MASTER capability and levels of accuracy are concluded to be sufficient for the neutronics design including safety related parameters related with reactivity, power distributions, temperature and power coefficients, inverse boron worth and control bank worth.

  • To clarify the species of genus Deutzia (Saxifragaceae, s. l.) in Korea, the taxonomic description was undertaken and interspecific relationships was discussed based on the external morphology with the light and scanning electron microscopes and the distributional pattern with specimens deposited in the herbaria. The presence or absence, number of rays, position and frequency of the stellate trichome, inflorescence and the morphology and venation pattern of petal were approved as the good characters to classify the Korean Deutzias. Although 17 kinds of Deutzia were reported in Korea hitherto, 9 kinds were excluded owing to the taxonomic treatment based on the comparative external morphology and the distributional uncertainty. Thus genus Deutzia in Korea could be rearranged as 2 sections, 3 subsection, 7 species and 1 variety. Among them, 4 species were considered as the endemic species in Korea.
