This paper is concerned with the design of an appropriate sampling plan or stopping rule and the construction of estimate for the estimation of process or lot fraction defective. Various sampling plans which are well known or have potential applications are unified into a generalized sampling plan. Under this sampling plan sufficient statistic, probability distribution, moment, and minimum variance unbiased estimate are obtained. Results for various sampling plans can be derived as special cases. Then, under given parameter values, the relative efficiencies of the various sampling plans are compared with respect to expected sample sizes and variances of estimates.

In establishing Multi-Stage Machining process inspection procedures, however, where costs of inspection md defective products are often directly measurable, a better method for formulating inspection plans is available. If one of the primary interest of a manufacturing concern is to maximize profits, then optimal inspection plans ought to be selected so as to minimize costs. This paper is aimed to find a methodology of optimal inspection planning in Multi-stage Machining process and to develope a proper algorithm.

This paper considers model robust accelerated life test plans for estimating the logmean or percentile of product lige which is exponentially distributed. A linear relationship between the log mean life and the stress is assumed as usual, while the true relationship is quadratic. Optimum plans are then obtained by minimizing asymptotic mean squared error of maximum likelihood estimator of the log mean life.

Tn this paper we propose a systematic methodology for setting up master plans of knowledge management(KM). The proposed methodology is developed based on both the previous KM theories and the experience from industry fields. The methodology is consist of four stages: 1) setting up strategic directions, 2) analyzing the current status, 3) designing KM models, and 4) making KM master plans. We expect that the proposed methodology will be used in the various organizations as an efficient and effective planning tool when setting up master plans of KM.

Free cash flow is known as a typical type of agency conflict between managers and shareholders in a firm. The insurance industry, which is not growing, is particularly susceptible to such excessive cash flow. We herein investigate the effects of stock ownership plans on reducing agency conflicts. We adopt undistributed cash flow to proxy free cash flow, and size, default risk, group membership, leverage, investment opportunity, and stock options are selected as explanatory variables. We find that stock option plans are effective(at a 10% level) in reducing free cash flow.

This paper studies the evaluation of mechanical design plans through fuzzy cluster. Plans are classified into two sets, 'good' and 'bad'. The membership of a plan to the 'good' set is numerically equal to the distance to the 'bad' set. The central parameter of the 'good' set is defined as '1', and that of the 'bad' set '0'. This will greatly simplify calculations. The result of the calculating example proves the method available.

The second edition of the International Standard ISO/DIS 2859-1(1997) is the revised version of ISO 2859-1(1989). Significant changes in this edition include the following; ⅰ) a new procedure for switching from normal to reduced inspection is used, ⅱ) optional fractional acceptance number sampling plans are added, and ⅲ) reduced plans are changed to eliminate the gap between the acceptance and rejection numbers. In this paper, major changes and additions incorporated into the revised version are discussed.

Sequential test plans are characterized by decision rules for accepting or rejecting compliance, or continuing the test at my test time. They are determined by selected values of risks and discrimination ratio. The sequential test plans in the international standard such as MIL-HDBK-781A are based on the assumption that the underlying distribution of times between failures is exponential. In this paper, sequential test plans are extended to the Weibull distribution case. Simulation studies are performed to examine the reasonability in this extension.

This paper introduces three continuous sampling plans by attribute. Revised KS standards for acceptance samplings such as KSA ISO 2859-3, 4 : 2001 and 21247 : 2007 are presented. These plans are based on skip-lot, DQL(Declared Quality Level) and VL (Verification Level).
