증강현실 그림책 현황과 유아의 몰입도 (Current Status of Augmented Reality Picture Books and Preschooler's Immersion)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status of augmented reality picture books, which have been steadily developed since 2010, as a genre of electronic picture books, and to reveal how children's immersion in augmented reality picture books differs from paper picture books. To this end, 30 augmented reality picture books on the market were analyzed according to genre, life theme, implementation method, and augmented reality scene ratio. As a result of the study, it was found that the genre of picture books was in the order of information fairy tales, daily fairy tales, and historical fairy tales, and there were no traditional or fantasy fairy tales. Animals and plants accounted for about half of the life topics, and in some cases, there were only a few or no other life topics. In the augmented reality implementation scene, it consisted of only one page in the early days, but all pages are now possible to implement augmented reality due to technology development, production cost reduction, and improved hardware performance of smartphones. It was found that the augmented reality implementation method used CD-ROM in the early days, but gradually became possible to implement using only mobile phones and tablets that were easy for readers to access. In addition, after presenting four picture books to eight 5-year-old infants, the immersion time was measured and the immersion behavior was observed. As a result, augmented reality picture books showed higher immersion[immersion time, immersion behavior] than paper picture books, but compared by literature genre, life fairy tales were higher in paper picture books and natural fairy tales in augmented reality picture books. It was higher when presenting augmented reality picture books after presenting paper picture books according to the order of presentation of picture book types. The results of this study suggest that more diverse life topics and augmented reality picture books in the genre of children's literature should be developed to increase the utilization of augmented reality picture books. In addition, considering that there are differences in immersion between types, literary genres, and reading experience [presentation order], it is expected to increase the educational effect by using picture books complementarily.

전자그림책의 활용실태와 인식: 아이돌보미와 유아교육과 학생의 비교를 중심으로 (Actual Utilization and Recognition of Electronic Picture Books: Based on the Comparison between In-Home Childcare Providers and ECE Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the basic information related to electronic picture books and implications for the development of high-quality in-home child care service programs by examining the perceptions and actual conditions of electronic picture books. A survey was conducted with 216 in-home childcare workers from the one Healthy Family Support Center who participated in the workshop on electronic picture books and 161 students from the Department of Early Childhood Education at two Universities as a comparison group. The findings are as follows. First, there was no difference between the two groups in recognition of ICT competencies and satisfaction with electronic picture books. Second, both groups viewed electronic picture books are effective in preparing for the information age and very positive in providing electronic picture books. Third, the valuation of electronic picture books in both groups was higher than that of paper picture books. Fourth, there was no significant difference between the two groups in valuing e-picture books by ICT competence. The results of this study provide implications for the development of systematic educational programs to enhance the job performance of in-home child providers, which will be expanded in the future, by examining ICT competencies, e-picture book actual utilization, and recognition between the in-home childcare providers and ECE students.

  • One-Drop-Filling (ODF) process is an advanced vacuum filling process in LCoS manufacture line. The merits not only increase the throughput of liquid crystal filling process but also reduce the number of equipments. Studying application of ODF process in LCoS panel manufacturing is the purpose of is this article. The accuracy of liquid crystal drop size, the stability of seal dispensing and the nozzle size etc. In the tiny panel manufacture are more important than those factors in normal panel manufacture.

Thermal Behavior of Silver Paste to Improve Reliability and Image Quality of LCoS Panel

  • Silver paste curing process is very important in LCoS panel manufacture because incomplete curing process will cause poor bonding strength and increase resistance. The imperfection situation results in poor reliability and the variation of the common voltage, respectively. The change of the common voltage causes image flicker. According to Kinetics, we acquire activation energy by using dynamic DSC and compare two kinds of silver paste. From the result of isothermal DSC, we get optimum curing parameters to solve the flicker problem caused of incomplete curing of the silver paste.

제 2 언어 습득에서 유아의 영어 문해 능력에 영향을 미치는 변인 연구 : 그림책 읽기에서 어머니의 언어적 행동을 중심으로 (A Study of Factors Influencing Preschoolers' Emergent English as a Second Language Literacy Skills : Maternal Language Behavior in Picture Book Reading)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the factors influencing preschoolers' emergent English as a second language literacy skills in terms of maternal language behavior in Korean and English picture book reading. This study was also conducted in order to identify the pathways of each factor. The subjects consisted of 201 mothers and their 3~5 year-old children from middle income families living in Seoul, Incheon, Gyyounggi-do, and Chungcheongbuk-do. The results indicated that the factors influencing preschoolers' emergent English as a second language literacy skills acquisition were as follows : maternal beliefs about the value of picture book reading, the child's level of interest in picture book reading, the time spent on picture book reading and maternal language behavior during picture book reading activities. The results further indicate that it is important that the mother shares desirable language interaction with her children in their native language while reading not only Korean but also English picture books when aiming to improve preschoolers' emergent English literacy skills.

그림책에 대한 생산자와 소비자의 인식 차이 연구 (Recognition of Picture Book Makers(Editors/Writers) and Consumers(Parents of Young Children/Preschool Teachers) about Picture Books)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the recognition differences between picture book makers(editors/writers) and picture book consumers(parents of young children/preschool teachers) about picture books. The study subjects were 69 children's book-editors(editors, designers), 72 children's book-writers, 78 parents of young children, and 79 preschool teachers. The results of this study were as follows. First, they differently recognized the effects of good picture books on children's development, and the contents and components of picture books. However, both groups preferred creative stories to traditional stories and agreed on the children's preferences of the book genre and characteristics. Second, picture book makers and consumers were differently aware of the quality of Korean picture books published in Korea but they agreed on the quality of foreign picture books. They thought that more picture books with better contents and formality on the imaginary, artistic, and real-life related themes needed to be published in Korea. Third, the book makers and consumers obtained information on the picture books in the book stores and libraries in most cases. The book makers were more interested than the consumer in the picture, writer, cover design, and publishing company of the books, whereas the consumers placed a higher priority in the purchase process. Both groups pointed out the non-professional editing and sales policy as the problems in the Korean publishing company.

만6세와 만9세 아동이 선호하는 그림책의 장르에 대한 질적 연구 (Qualitative Research of Picture Books Preferred by 6 Year Old and 9 Year Old)

  • 본 연구는 기존의 연구 성과들에 기반 하여 장르를 중심으로 연령별로 아동이 좋아하는 그림책의 특성을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2015년 10월부터 2016년 1월까지 만6세와 만9세 아동을 면담하고 최종 34명의 자료를 분석대상으로 선정하였다. 수집된 자료는 귀납적 약호화의 과정을 거쳐 질적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 첫째, 만6세 아동들이 선호하는 그림책은 옛이야기 그림책, 이야기 그림책, 국내 시 그림책, 정보 그림책 순으로 나타났으며 번역 시 그림책은 선호하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이들은 흥미로운 줄거리와 잘 짜인 플롯을 좋아하는 경향을 보였다. 둘째, 만9세 아동들이 선호하는 그림책은 이야기 그림책, 옛이야기 그림책, 국내 시 그림책 순으로 조사되었고 정보 그림책과 번역 시 그림책은 선호하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이들은 문학적 요소를 폭넓게 탐색하고 그것을 재미요소로 여겼다. 이와 같은 결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 연령별 아동들이 특정 그림책 장르를 선호하는 이유를 밝히고, 연령별로 그림책 장르를 폭넓게 활용할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다.

그림책 서평의 시각적 문식성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Visual Literacy for Picture Book Reviews)

  • 도서관은 독자에게 독서정보를 제공하여야 할 의무와 책임이 있는 대표적 기관이며, 사서는 독자에게 도서에 관한 정보를 제공하기 위하여 아낌없는 상담과 조언을 할 수 있어야 한다. 독자들의 그림책에 관심이 높아지면서 도서관과 사서는 훌륭한 그림책은 어떤 것인지? 유사한 종류의 다양한 도서 중 어떤 것을 선택할 것인지? 등의 도서 선택과 독서에 도움을 줄 수 있는 그림책 서평을 정기적이고 지속적으로 작성 제공하여 독자들의 독서정보를 지원할 수 있어야 한다. 문학과 예술의 복합장르인 그림책 서평을 작성하기 위하여서는 내용소개는 물론 시각 텍스트에 관한 문학적 상징성 등의 해설적인 정보를 제공할 수 있어야 한다. 이를 위하여 사서는 작가의 사상과 철학을 이미지로 형상화한 심층적인 의미를 읽을 수 있는 시각적 문식성을 갖추어야 한다. 이에 옛 이야기 "빨간모자"를 다룬 두 작가의 그림책을 비교 분석하여 그림책 서평 작성 시 참고하여야 할 시각적 텍스트에 관한 이해를 돕고자 하였다.

Ellipsoid Modeling Method for Coding of Face Depth Picture

  • In this paper, we propose an ellipsoid modeling method for coding of a face depth picture. The ellipsoid modeling is firstly based on a point of a nose tip which is defined as the lowest value of the depth in the picture. The proposed ellipsoid representation is simplified through a difference of depth values between in the nose tip and in left or right boundary point of the face. Parameters of the ellipsoid are calculated through coordinates and depth values to minimize differences from the actual depth pixels. A picture is predicted by the modeled ellipsoid for coding of the face depth picture. In simulation results, an average MSEs between the face depth picture and the predicted picture is measured as 20.3.

Translated Picture Books in Korea from 1969 to 2012

  • This study aims to explore the characteristics of translated picture books in South Korea and their cultural meanings over a five-decade period. This time can broadly be divided into three periods, being the Settlement Period (pre-1990), the Flourishing Years (1991-2000) and Globalization (post-2001). During the Settlement Period, picture books in South Korea were derived mainly from Japan and America and tended to be informational in nature or based on folk tales. These were translated into Korean to meet the public's curiosity for foreign cultures or for scientific information. The Flourishing Years were characterised by the availability of picture books on a wide variety on themes and forms from all over the world. In this period, the translation of books into Korean focused on a literal rendition of the meanings and sounds of names from the original text. There was also a proliferation of audiotapes, videos and TV programs based on famous picture books. In the current period of Globalization, Korean publishers, who have built confidence through studying foreign picture books over time, have increased efforts to produce their own picture books and export them abroad.
