Copper based leadframe sheets were immersed in two kinds of hot alkaline solutions to form brown-oxide or blackoxide layer on the surface. The oxide-coated leadframe sheets were molded with epoxy molding compound (EMC). After post mold curing, the oxide-coated EMC-leadframe joints were machined to form sandwiched double-cantilever beam (SDCB) specimens. The SDCB specimens were used to measure the fracture toughness of the EMC/leadframe interfaces under quasi-Mode I loading conditions. After fracture toughness testing, the fracture surface were analyzed by various equipment to investigate failure path. An adhesion model was suggested to explain the failure path formation. The adhesion model is based on the strengthening mechanism of fiber-reinforced composite. The present paper deals with the introduction of the adhesion model. The explanation of the failure path with the proposed adhesion model was introduced in the companion paper.

BDD is a well-known alternative to the conventional Boolean logic method in fault tree analysis. As the size of fault tree increases, the calculation time and computer resources for BDD dramatically increase. A new failure path search and path restructure method is proposed for efficient calculation of CS and MCS from BDD. Failure path grouping and bottom-up path search is proved to be efficient in failure path search in BDD and path restructure is also proved to be used in order to reduce the number of CS comparisons for MCS extraction. With these newly proposed methods, the top event probability can be calculated using the probability by ASDMP(Approximate Sum of Disjoint MCS Products), which is shown to be equivalent to the result by the conventional MCUB(Minimal Cut Upper Bound) probability.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test a hypothetical model of health-related quality of life in patients with heart failure. The hypothetical model was derived from the Wilson and Cleary's model, the Rector's model, and published research findings. Methods: Data from 103 patients with heart failure were analyzed to determine the best multivariate health-related quality of life model given variables derived from the prior studies. The statistics programs SPSS 12.0 and LISREL 8.7 program were used for descriptive statistics and covariance structure analysis respectively. Results: The overall fitness of the path final model was good(GFI=.97, AGFI=.95, NNFI=1.06, NFI=.96, p=.96). Symptoms were directly affected by gender. HYHA Class was directly affected by only gender. Physical functioning limitation was directly affected by exercise. Health perception was directly affected by economics, symptom, and physical functioning limitation. Depression was directly affected by exercise and health perception. Heath-related quality of life was directly affected by physical functioning limitation and depression, indirectly affected by gender, economics, exercise, symptoms, NYHA Class, and health perception. This path analysis model explained 51% of health-related quality of life in patients with heart failure. Conclusion: To improve of health-related quality of life with heart failure patients, it is necessary to make nursing interventions for physical functioning and depression.

A single fiber failure in mesh-based WDM networks may result in the loss of a large number of data. To remedy this problem, an efficient restoration algorithm for a single fiber failure in the mesh- based WDM network is necessary. We propose a new algorithm for restoration scheme in WDM networks and compare it with previous schemes. Path restoration and link restoration are two representative restoration schemes which deal with only a single link failure. In this paper, we propose two kinds of efficient restoration scheme. In the proposed schemes the restoration path for each link failure is not secured. The mesh network is decomposed into a number of small loops. In one algorithm, any link failure in a certain loop is regarded as the failure of the loop and the restoration lightpath is selected by detouring the failed loop. In another scheme any link failure in a certain loop is restored within the loop. We compare performance of the proposed schemes with conventional path restoration scheme and link restoration scheme. Simulation results show that CPU time in the proposed schemes decreases compared with that in path restoration scheme and link restoration scheme, although total wavelength mileage usage increases by 10% to 50%.
The failure of a thin-walled tube was studied in this paper based on three failure models. Both proportional and non-proportional loading paths were applied. Proportional loading consisted of combined tension-torsion. Cyclic non-proportional loading was also applied. It was a circular out-of-phase axial-shear stress loading path. The third loading path was a combination of a constant internal pressure and a bending moment. The failure models under study were equivalent plastic strain, modified Mohr-Coulomb (Bai-Wierzbicki) and Tearing parameter models. The elasto-plastic analysis was conducted using J2 criterion and nonlinear kinematic hardening. The return mapping algorithm was employed to numerically solve the plastic flow relations. The effects of the hydrostatic stress on the plastic flow and the stress triaxiality parameter on the failure were discussed. Each failure model under study was utilized to predict failure. The failure loads obtained from each model were compared with each other. The equivalent plastic strain model was independent from the stress triaxiality parameter, and it predicted the highest failure load in the bending problem. The modified Mohr-Coulomb failure model predicted the lowest failure load for the range of the stress triaxiality parameter and Lode's angle.

We propose a new multipath-based reliable routing protocol on MANETs, Multipath-based Reliable routing protocol with Fast-Recovery of failures (MRFR). For reliable message transmission, MRFR tries to find the most reliable path between a source and a destination considering the end-to-end packet reception reliability of the routes. The established path consists of a primary path that is used to transmit messages, and the secondary paths that are used to recover the path when detecting failures on the primary path. After establishing the path, the source transmits messages through the primary path. If a node detects a link failure during message transmission, it can recover the path locally by switching from the primary to the secondary path. By allowing the intermediate nodes to locally recover the route failure, the proposed protocol can handle the dynamic topological change of the MANETs efficiently. The simulation result using the QualNet simulator shows that the MRFR protocol performs better than other protocols in terms of the end-to-end message delivery ratio and fault-tolerance capability.

Hierarchical routing in Wireless Sensor Network lowers the amount of a memory used and energy consumption so that the network lifetime longer. But, When Node Failure is occurred, Hierarchical routing do not look for another route. This is the problem of Hierarchical routing. To solve the problem, we would study other hierarchical routings. There are typically hierarchical routing protocols which can be used in WSN, such as the hierarchical routing of Zigbee and HiLow protocol which is submitted as draft to IETF 6LoWPAN WG. Also, there is SCRO algorithm which be able to assign short-cut routing path. This paper explains how to solve the Node Failure in each Zigbee hierarchical routing and HiLow protocol. And we suggest how to solve the Node Failure in SCRO protocol. SCRO protocol is able to assign new routing path rapidly when Node Failure is occurred. Because the strong of SCRO protocol is to assign Short-cut routing path.

MPLS networks architectures have been prevailed as scalable approach to provide quality of service in the Internet. Many researches have been mainly focused on scalability and multi-path calculation scheme for failure restoration. However, the MPLS network have an scalability problem about traffic, and the existing failure restoration methods are wasted resources, and it has the problem that loss of a packet by a lot of delay occurs in too. Therefore in this paper, we propose a H-MPLS (Hierachical-Multiprotocol Label Switching)network for rapidly failure restorations and effective management of network extended. The proposed H-MPLS Network apply LSP multi-path routing algorithm and consists of several MPLS. After comparing the performance among the existing failure restoration methods with various network models, we use NS simulator in order to analyze the performance. Finally, we present an improvement scheme of the efficiency and scalability.

The studies on the shortest path algorithms based on Dijkstra algorithm has been done continuously to decrease the time for searching. $A^*$ algorithm is the most represented one. Although fast searching speed is the major point of $A^*$ algorithm, there are high rates of failing in search of the shortest path, because of complex and irregular networks. The failure of the search means that it either did not find the target node, or found the shortest path, witch is not true. This study proposed $A^*$ algorithm applying method that can reduce searching failure rates, preferentially organizing the relations between the starting node and the targeting node, and appling it in reverse according to the organized path. This proposed method may not build exactly the shortest path, but the entire failure in search of th path would not occur. Following the developed algorithm tested in a real complex networks, it revealed that this algorithm increases the amount of time than the usual $A^*$ algorithm, but the accuracy rates of the shortest paths built is very high.
