We propose a new multiscale Galerkin method based on interpolation wavelets for two-dimensional Poisson's and plane elasticity problems. The major contributions of the present work are: 1) full multiresolution numerical analysis is carried out, 2) general boundaries are handled by a fictitious domain method without using a penalty term or the Lagrange multiplier, 3) no special integration rule is necessary unlike in the (bi-)orthogonal wavelet-based methods, and 4) an efficient adaptive scheme is easy to incorporate. Several benchmark-type problems are considered to show the effectiveness and the potentials of the present approach. is 1-2m/s and impact deformation of the electrode depends on the strain rate at that velocity, the dynamic behavior of the sinter-forged Cu-Cr is a key to investigate the impact characteristics of the electrodes. The dynamic response of the material at the high strain rate is obtained from the split Hopkinson pressure bar test using disc-type specimens. Experimental results from both quasi-static and dynamic compressive tests are Interpolated to construct the Johnson-Cook model as the constitutive relation that should be applied to simulation of the dynamic behavior of the electrodes. The impact characteristics of a vacuum interrupter are investigated with computer simulations by changing the value of five parameters such as the initial velocity of a movable electrode, the added mass of a movable electrode, the wipe spring constant, initial offset of a wipe spring and the virtual fixed spring constant.
In this study, it was tried to analyze the effects of welding parameters on the weld penetration and aspect ratio when a STS316L pipe was welded in a horizontal position by GTAW. Experiments were systematically designed using a L18 orthogonal array, and the effects of welding parameters were statistically analyzed by ANOVA(Analysis of Variance). The shielding gas type has the largest effect on both the penetration and aspect ratio. The welding current type and shielding gas flow rate have a little effect on the penetration, whereas the electrode tip angle has a little effect on the aspect ratio. When welded at a selected welding condition, which is composed of He shielding gas, pulse current of 300/45 A, electrode tip angle of 90o, and shielding gas flow rate of 30 l/min, the estimated interval at least 95 % confidence was $1.99{\pm}0.18mm$ for the penetration and $0.31{\pm}0.04$ for the aspect ratio. From the confirmation experiments, the average penetration and aspect ratio were well agreed with the estimation as 1.96 mm and 0.30, respectively. Additionally, the effects of the welding speed and welding current on the penetration and aspect ratio were experimented and analyzed by linear regression. The penetration was linearly increased with the decrease of the welding speed and with the increase of the welding current, but the aspect ratio showed a tendency to a little decrease with the increase of both the welding speed and current.

The purpose of this study is to classify the upper body of women into several kinds of somatotypes, using the method of Surgical Tape and making their shells. The subjects are 53 females 30 to 39 years-old. Fifty-three anthropometric data are measured per shell of bodysurface; six somatotype factors are obtained through principal component analysis and orthogonal rotation by the method of Varimax, Somatotype of women's upper body is achieved by cluster analysis, using the standardized factor score as an independent variable and the FASTCLUS of SAS by Kmeans. The results are as follows: 1. The number of the factors which explain the somatotype is six and those factors comprise 76.12 percent of total variance. Factor 1: related to the size of shape in the front of upper body Factor S: related to the size of shape in the back of upper body Factor 3: related to the type of the upper chest over the chest circumference line Factor 4: related to the length of·the upper body Factor 5: related to the part of the neck Factor 6: related to the type of the lower chest under the chest circumference line 2. Cluster analysis results in classification of upper body into five clusters. Cluster L: the length is the largest and the circumference is small. The part of waist is the largest and widest among surface areas. Cluster 2: Slender body line from chest to waist is characteristic. The length is longer. The part of upper and lower chest is larger among surface areas. Cluster S: the circumference is the smallest and armhole is small. The length and surface area are small. Cluster 4: the circumference and armhole is the largest. The length is the smallest. Cluster 5: the circumference is average and the length is a little long. The body line(silhouette) from chest to waist is curved slightly.

UFMC is known as a candidate for the 5G wireless communication system because it is robust against ICI and better performs in asynchronous situation than OFDM. In the UFMC system, the filtering is performed for each subband so the performance of the filter is very important. The Dolph-Chebyshev filter has been used in conventional UFMC system because of its small out-of-band radiation. However it has distortion in the sub-band and skirt characteristics is not good enough. Therefore, it is necessary to study a new type of UFMC filter which reduces the distortion in the subband and has sharp skirt characteristics. In this paper we analyze the effect of filter frequency response in UFMC system and suggest the wavelet based type of filter that substitutes the Dolph-ChebyShev filter used in the conventional UFMC system. The simulation results show that wavelet filter has better BER performance in multipath fading channels than conventional filters.

The purpose of this study is to classify the upper body of women into several kind.; of somatotypes, using the method of Surgical Tape and making their shells. The subjects are 50 females 20 to 29 years-old. Fifty-one anthropometric data are measured per shell of body surface : eight somatotype factors are obtained through principal component analysis and orthogonal rotation by the method of Varimax, Somatotype of women's upper body is achieved by cluster analysis, using the standardized factor score a.: an independent variable and the FASTCLUS of SAS by Kmeans. The results are as follows : 1. The number of the factors which explain the somatotype is eight and these factors comprise 81.63 percent of total variance. Factor 1 related to the degree of fatness in the front of upper body Factor 2 related to the degree of fatness in the back of upper body Factor 3 . related to the length of the upper body Factor 4 : related to the type of the upper chest over the chest circmference line Factor 5 : related to the armhole and neck Factor 6 : related to the type of lower chest under the chest circumference line Factor 7: related to the part of the back shoulder Factor 8: related to the depth of front neck and side dart of front independently 2. Cluster analysis results in classification of upper body into five clusters. Cluster 1 : the of circumference i.: lager and that of length is longer than the average The louver part of chest is the lagest and widest among surface areas. Cluster 2 : the circumference is the smallest , the length and surface area are small. The upper and lower chest is small Cluster 3 : the length and surface area are the smallest , the circumference is average. The body line (silhouette) from chest to waist is curved slightly.
Somatotype is human body shape and physique type which can be classified not only by the size, but also by the shape or posture of the body. Postural variations in the alignment of the back, shoulder, and neck can have an adverse effect on the fit of garments designed to hang from the shoulders. There have been some previous studies about the lateral upper torso by analyzing photographic measurements. In this study, 3D body scan images were used to classify the side somatotype of upper lateral method even though they are major data in the classification of upper torso. This study focused on following objective.; 1) To apply new and developing technology into the apparel industry analyzing 3D body scan images. 2) To classify upper laterla torso using the data through the new improver technology, 3D body scanner. 3) To propose basic materials for well fitted garments for each type of figure. The test subjects for this study were two hundreds nine female aged 19 years and up who were recruited in Cornell university body scan research team. Seventeen Variables(12 angles, 5 lengths) out of 3D body scan data were measured based on these landmarks and applied to analyze. The result of factor analysis indicated that 6 factors were extracted through factor analysis and orthogonal rotation by the method of Varimax and those factors comprise 62.5% of total variance. And the somatotype of upper body is classified into 3 types of figures according to cluster analysis; Bent forward posture, Straight posture, Swayback posture. Future study could be addressed about the somatotype of body by the age group based on the large database with wide variety of age.

In metal cutting various types of chips are produced in consequence of cutting conditions. According to the type of chips the cutting mechanism is to be changed. Most of the cutting theory is based on the continuous chip because of its convenient analysis, but the occurrence of the saw-toothed chip depends upon the workpiece and/or the cutting conditions, one of which is titanium alloy used widely. Nowadays titanium alloys are used widely with the rapid development of aerospace structural engineering application, whereas the theory of cutting mechanism has not been established yet, and the formatting process has not been understood satisfactorily, either. Unfortunately several misconceptions, conflicting statements and statements needing further clarifi- cation are also found. In this paper an attempt is made to clarify the formation process of saw-toothed chips which are to be produced during the orthogonal cutting process of titanium alloys. They were machined at low speed to avoid the rapid tool wear. We observed the SEM-photographs of chips taken at the quick-st- opping device. It is hoped that a rational model of the mechanics of cyclic chip formation can be developed. The results obtained are as follows. 1. When a saw- toothed chip is formed, the shear band begins at the primary shear zone and trans- fers to the free surface, so that a segment is produced and it is completed by upsetting between the formatting segment and the formatted segment. 2. As the rake angle or the clearance angle increases in the machining of the titanium alloy, the chip approaches to that of the continous type. 3. When the rake angle and the clearance angle are increased the shear energy and the unit friction energy decrease, which shows the same aspect as that of the continuous chip.

The Long Term Evolution (LTE) system is designed to provide a high quality data service for fast moving mobile users. It is based on the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and relies its channel estimation on the training samples which are systematically built within the transmitting data. Either a preamble or a lattice type is used for the distribution of training samples and the latter suits better for the multipath fading channel environment whose channel frequency response (CFR) fluctuates rapidly with time. In the lattice-type structure, the estimation of the CFR makes use of the least squares estimate (LSE) for each pilot samples, followed by an interpolation both in time-and in frequency-domain to fill up the channel estimates for subcarriers corresponding to data samples. All interpolation schemes should rely on the pilot estimates only, and thus, their performances are bounded by the quality of pilot estimates. However, the additive noise give rise to high fluctuation on the pilot estimates, especially in a communication environment with low signal-to-noise ratio. These high fluctuations could be monitored in the alternating high values of the first forward differences (FFD) between pilot estimates. In this paper, we analyzed statistically those FFD values and propose a postprocessing algorithm to suppress high fluctuations in the noisy pilot estimates. The proposed method is based on a localized adaptive moving-average filtering. The performance of the proposed technique is verified on a multipath environment suggested on a 3GPP LTE specification. It is shown that the mean-squared error (MSE) between the actual CFR and pilot estimates could be reduced up to 68% from the noisy pilot estimates.

In this paper, two types of $2\times2$ Rx/Tx microstrip patch antenna are proposed to implement Ku-band satellite communications. The single-fed dual resonance patch antenna as the first type derives perpendicular polarizations at two resonant frequencies from a single patch radiator, using aperture coupling via a bended single-feeding line and a cross-shaped slot. The double-fed dual resonance patch antenna as the second type implements dual resonance with mutually orthogonal polarizations by mixing the two feeding mechanisms of the microstrip line and the aperture coupling. Especially, in the double-fed dual resonance antenna case, air-gap is introduced to broaden the bandwidth. Through measurement, each of the two types of antenna was verified to function properly both Rx and Tx. The double-fed dual resonance antenna shows excellent performance in the bandwidth and the crosspolarization characteristics.

The precious-meta] mineralization of epithermal type in the Korean Peninsula, which is spread over a broader range of ca. 110 to 60 Ma with a major population between 90 and 70 Ma, mainly occurred along the NE-trending major strike-slip fault systems (i.e., the Gongju and Gwangju ones) that commonly include volcano-tectonic depressions and calderas. The occurrence of epithermal mineralization during Late Cretaceous clearly indicates that the geologic setting of the Korean Peninsula changed to the favorable depth of ore formation with very shallow-crustal environments (〈1.0 kb) accompanied with gold-silver (-base-meta]) mineralization. Epithermal gold-silver deposits in Korea are primarily distinguished as sediment-dominant and volcanic-dominant basins by using criteria of varying alteration, ore and gangue mineralogy deposited by the interaction of different ore-forming fluids with host rocks and meteoric waters. These differences between the central and southern portions are causally linked to the tectonic evolution of the Peninsula during the Cretaceous time. In the Early Cretaceous, the sinistral strike-slip movements due to the oblique subduction of the Izanagi Plate resulted in the Gongju and Gwangju fault systems in the central portion of the Korean Peninsula, which was accompanied with a number of sediment-dominant basins formed along these faults. During the Late Cretaceous, the mode of convergence of the Izanagi Plate changed to northwesteward so that orthogonal convergence occurred with a calc-alkaline volcanism. As results, volcanic-dominant basins were developed in the southern portion of the Peninsula, accompanied with volcano-tectonic depressions and caldera-related fractures. The magmatism and related fractures during Late Cretaceous may play an important role in the formation of geothermal systems. Thus, such fault zones may be favorable environments for veining emplacement that is closely related to the precious-metal mineralization of epithermal type in the Korean Peninsula.
