의료사고와 의료분쟁에 대한 의료이용자들의 의식 조사 (The Thoughts of Patients on Medical Accidents and Disputes in Korea)

  • According to the available data, in these days, the number of medical accidents and disputes have significantly increased since 1990 in Korea. From this aspect, a variety of approaches and efforts to solve these problems is needed before it is too late. This study intended to identify the thoughts of patients who are directly connected with medical accidents and disputes and then to consider reasonable settlement methods of the increasing disputes. For achieving the purpose of this study, the self-administerd questionnaire was conducted with 450 out-patients who visited three university hospitals, five small and medium-sized hospitals, and ten clinics in Seoul from June 13 to 17, 2005. Incomplete questionnaires were omitted and 410 respondents(91%) were included for the analysis of this study. Each section of the survey was composed of six categories such as the recognition of malpractice, a compensation system about no-fault medical accidents, the recognition of the judgement of medical accidents in court, reasonable settlement of medical accidents, reasons of lawsuit, and the need of the medical dispute settlement organization. The major results of this study were as follows. First, more than half of the respondents, 51.9 percent, worry about malpractice. And many respondents think malpractice causes their symptoms to persist or become worse, and also some respondents think that the doctor's prescription changed too frequently. Second, as for a compensation system about no-fault medical accident, 55.7 percent of the respondents insist that a proper compensation for suffering patients or their families should be provided. And also as for the responsibility of compensation, respondents think joint compensation of both the medical institution and the government is needed foremost, followed by the medical insurance company and finally by the medical institution. The government as well as the related institutions should take responsibility for malpractice accidents for which the doctor is not responsible. Third, as for the acknowledgment of medical accident judgements by the court, 32.8 percent of respondents think that it is best to compromise with a medical institution, followed by lawsuit(26.2%), the assistance of civil organization(23.2%), and a powerful physical protest(7.6%). Fourth, as for the lawsuit of medical accidents, 62.9 percent of respondents think that patients and their families would be in a disadvantageous position in relation to medical institutions and doctors mentioning the lack of professional medical and lawful knowledge, experience and know-how as the reason. So many people have given up appeals owing to the difficulties involved in defending themselves through evidence. Fifth, about a half share of the respondents indicated that the medical institution's neglect of the responsibility of medical accidents is one of the most important reasons of lawsuit. And next respondents mentioned the lack of the medical dispute settlement organization and a general distrust of medical institutions and doctors. Sixth, a majority of respondents consented to the introduction of the need of the medical dispute settlement organization, And about a half of the respondents mentioned a readiness to accept the mediation of the organization, but the rest did not express a clear opinion. It seems that conflict among the parties concerned have existed in relation to the medical dispute settlement organization and related legislation for many years. But as this study has shown, the needs of the medical dispute settlement organization is in desperate demand. Therefore, more negotiation efforts from all interest groups should be considered for the birth of the medical dispute settlement organization and related legislation.

  • With the foundation of the WTO in 1995, the era of boundless and unlimited competition between many of the countries around the world has begun. In order to elevate the competitiveness in the international market, we have incorporated the QMS and the EMS system, establish by the International Standardization Organization, and the process has been operated under the authorization. However, many Korea companies' separate enforcement of the QMS and the EMS system is causing the dissipation of the labor force and the invested capital. As we can see through studying the contents on this paper, the number of documents has been reduced down to 54% (From 139 of them to 64 of them), and the conflict and the chaos that could have happened between the documents has been prevented. Its' outcome is attributed to the foundation and the embarkation on the Integrated Management Systems of the KS, QMS, and EMS. Not only that, it has also reduced the waste elements up to greater than 40%.

  • 2004년에 세계에서 5번째로 한국에서 고속철도를 운영하게 되었으며, 2011년 서울~부산간 전구간의 철도건설이 완공되어 고속철도가 운행되고 있다. 경부고속철도와 같은 대형국책사업에 있어 계획된 공기에 영향을 미치는 요소는 다양하였다. 국내에서는 처음으로 시행된 고속철도 건설사업으로서 본 사업과정상에 잦은 국가정책의 변경, 설계 및 시공상 사업관리의 어려움, 환경단체나 지역주민 등 이해관계자와의 갈등 등이 철도건설공기에 영향을 주는 주요 요소로 볼 수 있으며 경부고속철도를 통해 경험한 지연요소에 대한 종류, 문제점 등을 분석하여 향후 대형국책사업 등의 시행에 있어서 사업관리 및 추진의 효율성 향상에 기여하고자 한다. 특히, 사업단계에서부터 철저한 공기관리가 필요하며, 아울러 최근 중요시되는 환경문제 등에 관해서는 사업전반에 걸쳐 관리가 필요한 것으로 나타났다.

비행 청소년 발생과 가족환경과의 상관관계 연구 -일반가정과 비행청소년 가정을 중심으로- (An Analysis of the Relationship between Family Incongruence about Family Environment and Occurrence of Juvenile Delinquency)

  • This study was concerned with the investigation of the relationship between the degree of family incongruence about family environment and the occurrence of juvenile delinquency using Family Environmental Scale (F.E.S) designed by Rudolf Moos. The study employed the control group design using the interview and questionnaire through home visiting. The control group sample consisted of 44 families from a middle socioeconomic S Dong community setting and the experimental group sample consisted of 30 families of juve nile from Juvenile Training School in Seoul, Total sample size was 321. Data for this study was collected over a period of three months from the end of Nov. 1982 to the beginning of Feb. 1983, after pretest. To analize the data, t-test was used. The result of this study was as follows; 1. The experimental groups' incongruence score was 18.8598 as compared to the control groups' score of 14.8598. The differences were statistically significant at .001 level, and the hygothesis was supported. 2. The experimental group had higher incongruence scores as compared to the control group of three dimensions, the differences were statistically significant at .05 level. The experimental group had higher incongruence scores than the control group on 6 subscales, namely, cohesion, expressiveness, conflict, achievement orientation, moral-religious emphasis and organization. The differences were statistically significant at. 05 level.

Increasing Teamwork, Organizational Commitment and Effectiveness through the Implementation of Collaborative Resolution

  • This study seeks to examine empirically the effect of leadership style on organizational commitment and organizational effectiveness. The data are from all departments of the undergraduate program at the State University in Central Java, Indonesia. The study comprises all divisions of the undergraduate program, which amounted to 207 people. The method for sampling is based on simple random sampling. Structural equation modeling (SEM) is applied in order to analyze the data. The results show that integrative adaptive leadership style has a positive effect on teamwork and affective commitment. Therefore, in order to improve teamwork, the organization should be assisted in completing the introduction of collaborative conflict resolution. Moreover, affective commitment positively affects organizational effectiveness. Thus, it can be said that efforts to improve the organizational effectiveness, should be supported by affective commitment. The study further revealed that integrative adaptive leadership style has a positive effect on teamwork. This means better execution of integrative adaptive leadership, higher level of coordination and vice versa. Each member has different responsibilities and duties, and it can be done or resolved in different ways. If the leader can accommodate the creativity of the faculty and staff, a solid team can be formed.

중국 해상법집행기관조직 개편과 한·중 해양협력 (China's Reorganization of Maritime Law Enforcement Administrations and ROK-China Maritime Cooperation)

  • China National People's Congress has passed the bill to combine the Marine Law Enforcement into "State Oceanic Administration People's Republic of China". This bill was intended to resolve the overlapping jurisdiction and disputes caused in ocean territory in nearby countries. The purpose of reorganizing the administration was to combine the dispersed organization into one group. This new big administration was basically organized to increase the power of China marine state on the long-term. The reorganization plan is to group General Administration of Customs, China Marine Surveillance, Fisheries Law Enforcement Command, and Border Control Department into one State Oceanic Administration. The new state Oceanic Administration carries the authority to protect rights and enforce the marine law supported by Public Security Bureau. Korea Coast Guard has been cooperating with China Marine Surveillance since 1998 when the first pact was made. The next step expanded to General Administration of Customs. Currently working with Regional Maritime Law Enforcement organizations dealing mostly with illegal Chinese fishing boats and IEODO conflict. In order to solve the problems we face today is to observe the process of the New China Coast Guard administration, analysing the effects that could be caused by the change and to keep close cooperation between the new administrations.

시군 통합으로 인한 지방공무원의 처우개선 인식도 조사 (A Study on Local Government Official's Recognition of Treatment Change Influenced by City-County Consolidation)

  • 본 연구는 시군 통합시의 공무원의 처우개선에 대한 통합전후의 의견을 통하여 인식도 조사를 하였다. 이를 위한 지표로 근무평가공정성. 근무지배속 보수 및 수당, 승진, 신분보장, 업무의욕, 역할갈등, 응집도, 의사결정참여 등을 이용하였다. 조사결과, 조사지역인 통합여수시 가 아직 통합한지 2년 밖에 되지 않아 커다란 효과는 기대할 수 없었으나 약간은 개선되는 움임도 나타나고 있었다. 향후 계속적인 처우개선 노력이 필요하다고 본다.

교대근무하는 40세 이상 경력간호사의 근무경험 (Experiences of Clinical Nurses Aged over 40 as Shift Workers)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of clinical nurses over 40 years of age who were shift workers. Methods: Data were collected from in-depth interviews with 10 clinical nurses over 40 years of age who had at least 10 years of clinical experience and who worked in 5 acute care hospitals. The data were analyzed using Braun & Clark's thematic analysis. Results: One main theme, 3 themes, and 9 subthemes were derived. The main theme was "Sustaining a position still in conflict", and themes were as follows; "Being trained as a professional nurse", "Having unfavorable working conditions and damaged self-esteem", "Trying hard to get a sense of value as an experienced nurse" Conclusion: The results of this study show the issues of age and generational diversities in nurses in acute care hospitals. It is necessary to explore various ways to utilize the experience of older clinical nurses for the integrity of nursing organization and the development of the nursing profession.

어패럴업계 전문직 종사자의 직무스트레스와 이직에 관한 연구 (Job Stress and Turnover of Fashion Designers and Fashion Merchandisers)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the level and the major causes of job stress, and the causes of the high level of job turnover rate of fashion merchandisers and fashion designers. The study also examined the correlations among the major causes of job stress, job results and job turnover rate. A part of the questionnaire consisted of questions on major causes of job stress, job result, and intention and trial to leave a job. The subjects were to rate on 5 point Likert-type scales. The other part included the questions on demographic and individual characteristics of the subjects and their company characteristics. For the survey, the subjects were 99 fashion merchandisers and 128 fashion designers who are employed by mens or womens wear manufacturers. The SAS PC+ package was used to calculate frequency, Cronbach $\alpha$, multiple regressions. The results of the study were as follows: 1. The high degree of the job results were resulted from the high degree of specialties in their job characteristics, high contentment in human relations, career development and income, and low role conflict. 2. Stronger intentions and more trials to leave their job were correlated to better task performance in the workplace, lower commitment to their job, and lower job satisfaction. 3. Higher level of job stress caused by interpersonal relationship in the organization and contentment in career development and income affected stronger intentions and more trials to leave their job.

대학 내 도서관과 전자계산소의 조직통합에 관한 사례연구 (A Case Study on the Organizational Integration of Library and Computing Center in University)

  • 한국의 경우 대학 내 도서관과 전자계산소 등의 조직통합의 발전방향은 미국의 선례에 자극을 받아 그 통합이 추진되는 경향을 보여 왔다. 1990년대 중반 이 후 일부 대학들이 도서관과 전자계산소를 통합하였으며 점차 확대되어나갈 것으로 추측된다. 그러나 최근 미국의 추세를 보면 과거 도서관과 전자계산소가 통합되어 운영되고 있던 대학도서관들이 통합 이전으로 다시 분리되고 있는 현상이 일어나고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 2006년 통합이전으로 분리된 미국의 명문사학인 사례대학의 도서관을 대상으로 그들이 경험한 도서관과 전자계산소의 통합운영에 대한 부분을 조직통합의 목적과 배경, CIO의 역할과 리더쉽, 자원에 대한 갈등의 세 가지 측면에서 조사하여 분석하고자 하였다.
