This study is concerned with selling alliance in the internet shopping services, which is generally used by portal sites in recent and that is a typical form of strategic alliance. This study tried to find the relationship between. consumer's attitude and alliance performance. The authors investigated them in the field. then searched the reasons and determinants of selling alliance performance. As a result of field investigation, the authors found that the traffic of the portal site was not proportionated to the sales of internet shopping mall and this was not consistent with general expectation, With the analysis of it, the authors found that attitudes to the sites (brands) allianced in On-line and recognition of fitting between them had influenced positively on the attitude and purchase intention to alliance services. Moreover, unlike the attitude to the portal sites, the attitude to the internet shopping mall had positively influenced directly on the purchase intention. The other hand. from the view of influence power on the attitude to the allianced shopping service, the recognition of fitting between the sites was the factor which had the least effect of all factors. Compared with Off-line, this is interesting aspect of On-line. So in the On-line selling alliance, be careful of consideration for not only prior attitudes to the partners(portal and shopping mall) but also the fitness between them and make it in the mind that the attitude to shopping mall has greater influence upon the purchase intention than that to portal site.

Recently, many internet firms have opted the strategic alliances with other on/off-line firms in order to gain and sustain their competitive advantages. Previous research on market reaction to such alliances, however, shows mixed results. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to analyze the announcement effects of the alliances among internet firms in the stock market. Focusing on on-line firms that have been outside the scope of previous research, this study applied the event study methodology and examined the cumulative abnormal returns(CAR) for 245 alliance announcements between October 1998 and May 2002. Further, this study conducted a survey to categorize various types of announcements and 40 usable returns has been analyzed. The notable results from this study include: 1) The strategic alliances announcements do not have statistically positive effects on stock prices of the announcing firms. 2) Contrary to the results of the previous research, the CARs associated with marketing alliances are higher than those with technology alliances. 3) The degree of fitness among firms' disposition, their alliance purpose, and alliance type chosen influences the performance of their alliances.

We propose an Power line communication, also known as Power line Digital Subscriber Line (PDSL), mains communication, power line telecom (PLT), or power line networking (PLN), or Broadband over Power Lines (BPL) are systems for carrying data on a conductor also used for electric power transmission. Power line communications can also be used to interconnect home computers, peripherals or other networked consumer peripherals. Specifications for power line home networking have been developed by a number of different companies within the framework of the HomePlug Powerline Alliance, the Universal Powerline Association and the HD-PLC Alliance.

Northeast Asia has a multi-layered security structure within which major economic and military powers both confront one another and cooperate at the same time. Major regional powers maintain mutually cooperative activities in the economic sphere while competing one another in order to secure a dominant position in the politico-military arena. The multifarious threats, posed by the North Korea's nuclear development, territorial disputes, and maritime demarcation line issues demonstrate that Northeast Asia suffers more from military conflicts and strifes than any other region in the world. Specifically, major maritime security threats include North Korea's nuclear proliferation and missile launching problems as well as military provocations nearby the Northern Limit Line(NLL) as witnessed in the Cheonan naval ship and Yeonpyong incidents. The ROK Navy has been supplementing its firm military readiness posture in consideration of North Korea's threats on the NLL. It has performed superb roles in defending the nation and establishing the Navy advanced and best picked. It also has been conducive to defend the nation from external military threats and invasion, secure the sea lanes of communications, and establish regional stability and world peace. In order to effectively cope with the strategic environment and future warfares, the ROK Navy needs to shift its military structure to one that is more information and technology intensive. In addition, it should consolidate the ROK-US alliance and extend military cooperative measures with neighboring countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Evolved steadily for the last 60 years, the ROK-US alliance format has contributed to peace and security on the Korean peninsula and in the Northeast Asian region. In conclusion, this manuscript contends that the ROK Navy should strive for the establishment of the following: (1) Construction of Jeju Naval Base; (2) Strategic Navy Equipped with War Deterrence Capabilities; (3) Korean-type of System of Systems; (4) Structure, Budget and Human Resources of the Naval Forces Similar to the Advanced Countries; and (5) Strategic Maritime Alliance and Alignment System as well as Domestic Governance Network for the Naval Families.

Amid global economic crisis and skyrocketing oil prices, container shipping companies have raised a sustained series of efforts to reduce vessel operating costs. Under these circumstances, the Grand Alliance has decided to install the dedicated feeder instead of additional vessels in the CCX(Central China Express) and the NCE(North China Express) route. In other words, a vessel in a trunk route is transshiped by a dedicated feeder vessel in Busan port that is a transshipment port, rather than calling at Northen China port. In this study, the actual operating data of Grand Alliance container services were analyzed to determine the economic effect of transshipment through a dedicated feeder service. In this way, the Grand Alliance are saving vessel operating expenses in 'NCE' and 'CCX' routes, making the slow steaming of vessels possible in these trunk routes.

The objectives of this study are to define the fundamental notions of collaboration in design field. The results of this study are summarized as follows: Firstly, collaboration means a cooperative work which are cooperatively done by collabarator and collaboratee on the equal status within a certain period of time, based on core ability of each of them. This cooperative work is presented with a visual image based on the identity of participants, and it creates an added value. Collaboration is different from convergence and hybrid in the methodological aspects and from brand alliance and strategic alliance in the aspects of the subject of project. Secondly, collaboration has been developing through step of using the specific ability, step of sharing each core abilities, and step of fusing their identities, in a view of the sphere of cooperative work and the intimate relations in reciprocity. Thirdly, according to strategic purpose, collaboration can be classified into value ascending collaboration, image changing collaboration, business-field extension collaboration, and event collaboration. Fourthly, production methods of collaboration consist of limited edition method, premium line method, common line method, producing a collaborative product, and so on. Fifthly, differentiation effect, image upgrade effect, production of higher value-added products, sale increase, diversification of business, sharing the targets, and promotion effect are achievable through collaboration. Sixthly, to make progress in collaboration successfully, the compatibility of combination between collaborator and collaboratee, the superiority of collaboratee, definitude of collaboration, the fit method of collaboration, the novelty of collatoration, possibility of issuing of collaboration, and perfection of collabo-product must be the points which deserve our attention.

The purpose of this study is to find out how on-line counseling modalities (phone, video, and video counseling using digital mask) differ from face-to-face counseling in terms of clients' perception of working alliance, depth and smoothness of each session, satisfaction, and their qualitative counseling experience. 40 university students participated in the experiment, divided into 4 groups, received 3 personal counseling sessions per person. The quantitative data revealed no significant difference among the four counseling groups in working alliance. Also, the "depth" of the session was similar in the four groups, but phone and video with mask counseling group who did not expose their faces showed higher "smoothness" in the first and second sessions than face-to-face counseling group, indicating that anonymity was helping the clients' inhibition overcome. Through the post-interview data, subtle differences in experience of each counseling method were identified by the participants. The results are expected to provide primary information for developing and implementing various online counseling modalities in the future.

This paper describes the hardware architecture and implementation trade-offs of the Grand Alliance HDTV video encoder system. The implemented video encoder accepts video in 1125 line(30Hz) interlaced format, and produces a bit-stream compliant with the motion picture experts group version 2(MPEG-2) standards. The encoder processing includes large- area motion estimation and an advanced rate control mechanism. To keep the system complexity realizable, we adopt a fast hierarchical motion estimation method and developed its hardware architecture. Furthermore an adaptive perceptual quantization method is adopted to improve the perceptual quality. The developed system Is based on the 4-way parallel processing architecture and is implemented by using programmable IC, memory IC, and special-purpose processors such as DCT and motion estimation processors.

The community structure of intertidal benthic marine algae were studied seasonally at Odongdo, southern coast of Korea, from June 1982 to May 1983. Algal coverage in $50{\times}50\;cm$ quadrat were recorded for each species by line transect method. The vertical zonation investigated by line transects is recognized into three groups : Upper, middle, and lower zones. The representative species are Gelidium divaricatum, Enteromorpha linza, Porphyra yezoensis, Scytosiphon lomentaria, Blidingia nana, Ectocarpus confervoides in the upper, Ulva pertusa, Chondria crassicaulis in the middle, and Sargassum sagamianum, S. thunbergii, Undaria pinnatifida, Gelidium amansii and various other red algae in the lower zone. The number of algal species and coverage were generally highest in April and lowest in August. Species which appear dominant at least once a year were all of the spring type and the others were autumn type. According to the cluster analysis by similarity index community coefficient(SICC) among 5 transects, the algal communities are divided into two groups, i. e. open-sea group and inland-sea group.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors affecting innovation activities related to the introduction of the 4th Industrial Revolution technology for Korean firms faced to the severe global trade and competition environments. This paper conducted an empirical analysis using the 'The Survey of Business Activities' distributed by the Statistics Korea in 2019. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that the firm size, labor cost, R&D, and intellectual property rights had a significant influence on the firms' adoption of the 4th industrial revolution technology. It was also found that the dummy variables such as strategic alliance between companies, review of entry into a new business, transfer of main business operations, and holding of subsidiaries had statistically significant effects on innovation activities. In addition, this paper showed that the firm characteristics had impacts on innovation activities of firms by the 4th industrial revolution technology type. In order for Korean firms to adapt to the challenges by the 4th Industrial Revolution, it is important to provide policy support and an environment in line with the characteristics of the firms.
