The cox proportional hazards model was used in the first survey of KLoSA, 684 persons who were over 40 years old in 2006, using data up to the 5th period of 2014. The main findings of this study are as follows. First, the average duration of job for middle and old aged self-employed workers in 2005 was 15.5years. Of the total 684 workers, 214(31.3%) person was found to have lost their job during survey period. Second, gender, age at start up, and education level have significant effects on job separation of them. When women, when they were older at start up, when they were graduate the university or higher, increased their risk of leaving their businesses. Third, in the characteristic of their work, the type of job and job satisfaction were found to affect to job desertion. When people are engaged in accommodation and food business rather than agriculture and forestry fishery, when the satisfaction of the work is lower, the risk was high. Based on these conlusions, the following implications are suggested. First, it is necessary to establish a support strategy for female middle-aged and old self-employed and older workers who start their own business after their 60s. Second, it is necessary to support them to enter into various fields by utilizing their own aptitude and experience rather than establishing them in industries with low entry barriers. Third, it is necessary to develop policies to help improve job satisfaction in the working environment. In particular, it is necessary to ensure that high educated self-employed workers are satisfied with various compensations by self-employed.

  • Facial esthetics and smiling are key components in nonverbal communication and have an important role in determination of the first impression of a person. The various components of the smile in dental esthetics include Gingival scaffold, lip framework, and Teeth. The periodontist creates a smile by performing various periodontal plastic microsurgery procedures for management of mucogingival problems. A 25-year-old patient reported to the Department of Periodontology at Teerthanker Mahaveer Dental College and Research Center, Moradabad, Northern India, with the chief complaint of long looking teeth in the upper jaw, making him conscious while smiling. Miller class I gingival recession with Maxillary left canine (23) was diagnosed. Periodontal plastic microsurgery employing double papilla grafting with connective tissue graft harvested from the palate in order to cover denuded root was performed using microsurgical instruments and microsuturing with 6-0 suturing material under magnification. Healing was uneventful, with achievement of 100% root coverage of denuded root after three months. The patient was highly impressed and satisfied with his enhanced smile.

  • Herpes zoster is an infection by the varicella zoster virus in a partly immune compromised person such as old age, cancer, immune deficiency disease. When either the upper lumbar or sacral segments are involved, serious urinary retention caused by central spread of herpes zoster from dorsal root ganglion can occur. The urinary disturbance appears to have been due to motor dysfunction of detrusor muscle, trigone muscle, and internal sphincter. We experienced two cases of zoster affecting different segments of the spinal cord and resulting in urinary retention.

  • Walking is the first thing an infant wants to do and the last thing an old person wants to give up. Walking is the exercise that does not need a gym. It is the prescription without medicine, the weight control without diet, and the cosmetic that can't be found in a chemist. It is the tranquillizer without a pill, the therapy without a psychoanalyst, and the holiday that does not cost a penny. What's more, it does not pollute, consumers few natural resources and is highly efficient. Walking is convenient, it needs no special equipment, is self-regulating and inherently safe. Walking is as natural as breathing. John Butcher, Founder Walk21, 1999.
