  • Interval-valued neutrosophic hesitant fuzzy set (IVNHFS) is an extension of neutrosophic set (NS) and hesitant fuzzy set (HFS), each element of which has truth membership hesitant function, indeterminacy membership hesitant function and falsity membership hesitant function and the values of these functions lie in several possible closed intervals in the real unit interval [0,1]. In contrast with NS and HFS, IVNHFS can be more flexibly used to deal with uncertain, incomplete, indeterminate, inconsistent and hesitant information. In this study, I propose the novel correlation coefficient of IVNHFSs and my paper discusses its properties. Then, based on the novel correlation coefficient, I develop an approach to deal with multi-attribute decision-making problems within the framework of IVNHFS. In the end, a practical example is used to show that the approach is reasonable and effective in dealing with decision-making problems.

  • Recently, many researches on recommendation systems and collaborative filtering have been proceeding in both research and practice. However, although product items may have multi-valued attributes, previous studies did not reflect the multi-valued attributes. To overcome this limitation, this paper proposes new methodology for recommendation system. The proposed methodology uses multi-valued attributes based on clustering technique for items and applies the collaborative filtering to provide accurate recommendations. In the proposed methodology, both user clustering-based CBR and item attribute clustering-based CBR technique have been applied to the collaborative filtering to consider correlation of item to item as well as correlation of user to user. By using multi-valued attribute-based clustering technique for items, characteristics of items are identified clearly. Extensive experiments have been performed with MovieLens data to validate the proposed methodology. The results of the experiment show that the proposed methodology outperforms the benchmarked methodologies: Case Based Reasoning Collaborative Filtering (CBR_CF) and User Clustering Case Based Reasoning Collaborative Filtering (UC_CBR_CF).

  • Complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology is now facing a power scaling limit to increase integration density. Since 1970s, multi-valued logic (MVL) has been considered as promising alternative to resolve power scaling challenge for increasing information density up to peta-scale level by reducing the system complexity. Over the past several decades, however, a power-scalable and mass-producible MVL technology has been absent so that MVL circuit and system implementation have been delayed. Recently, compact MVL device researches incorporating multiple-switching characteristics in a single device such as 2D heterojunction-based negative-differential resistance (NDR)/transconductance (NDT) devices and quantum-dot/superlattices-based constant intermediate current have been actively performed. Meanwhile, wafer-scale, energy-efficient and variation-tolerant ternary-CMOS (T-CMOS) technology has been demonstrated through commercial foundry. In this review paper, an overview for MVL development history including recent studies will be presented. Then, the status and its future research direction of MVL technology will be discussed focusing on the T-CMOS technology for peta-scale information processing in semiconductor chip.

  • In this paper, under some new appropriate conditions imposed on the parameter and mappings involved in the resolvent operator associated with a P-accretive mapping, its Lipschitz continuity is proved and an estimate of its Lipschitz constant is computed. This paper is also concerned with the construction of a new iterative algorithm using the resolvent operator technique and Nadler's technique for solving a new system of generalized multi-valued resolvent equations in a Banach space setting. The convergence analysis of the sequences generated by our proposed iterative algorithm under some appropriate conditions is studied. The final section deals with the investigation and analysis of the notion of H(·, ·)-co-accretive mapping which has been recently introduced and studied in the literature. We verify that under the conditions considered in the literature, every H(·, ·)-co-accretive mapping is actually P-accretive and is not a new one. In the meanwhile, some important comments on H(·, ·)-co-accretive mappings and the results related to them appeared in the literature are pointed out.

  • Accuracy of the scaling function is very crucial in wavelet theory, or correspondingly, in the study of wavelet filter banks. We are mainly interested in vector-valued filter banks having matrix factorization and indicate how to choose block central symmetric matrices to construct multi-wavelets with suitable accuracy.

  • This paper presents a methodology for photovoltaic (PV) system allocation in distribution systems using a discrete particle swarm optimization (DPSO). The PV allocation problem is in the category of mixed integer nonlinear programming and its formulation may include multi-valued dis-crete variables. Thus, the PSO requires a scheme to deal with multi-valued discrete variables. This paper introduces a novel multi-level quantization scheme using a sigmoid function for discrete particle swarm optimization. The technique is employed to a standard PSO architecture; the same velocity update equation as in continuous versions of PSO is used but the particle's positions are updated in an alternative manner. The set of multi-level quantization is defined as integer multiples of powers-of-two terms to efficiently approximate the sigmoid function in transforming a particle's position into discrete values. A comparison with a genetic algorithm (GA) is performed to verify the quality of the solutions obtained.
