  • This paper describes a new type of the spatial filter detector (SFD) with variable and multi-valued weighting function. This SFD called variable spatial filter detector with multi-valued weighting function (VSFDwMWF) uses current-mode circuits for noise resistance and high-resolution weighting values. Total weighting values consist of 7bit, 6-signal bit and 1-sign bit. We fabricate VSFDwMWF chip using Rohm 0.35${\mu}$m CMOS process. VSFDwMWF chip includes two-dimensional 10${\times}$13 photodiode array and current-mode weighting control circuit. Simulation shows the weighting values are varied and multi-valued by external switching operation. The layout of VSFDwMWF chip is shown.

  • We prove the existence of common fixed points for multivalued maps satisfying a contractive condition of an integral type. Our results are extent ions of results of Feng and Liu[Y. Feng, S. Liu, Fixed point theorems for multi-valued contractive mappings and multi-valued Caristi type mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 317(2006), 103-112] and also, extent ions of results of Daffer and Kaneko[P. Z. Daffer, H. Kaneko, Fixed points of generalized contractive multi-valued map pings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 192(1995), 655-666]. A main result in Feng and Liu[Y. Feng, S. Liu, Fixed point theorems for multi-valued contractive mappings and multi-valued Caristi type mappings, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 317(2006), 103-112] is proved under necessary additional conditions.

  • Multi-valued decision making for transitional stochastic events was newly derived based on conditional probability of database. The two values (on-off) decision making method without transition had been proposed by one of the author in a previous work for a purpose of realizing human on-off decision making. The current method is an extension of the previous on-off decision making. By combining the conditional probability and the transitional probability, the closed form of the algorithm for the multi-valued transitional decision making was derived. The proposed multi-valued decision making was successfully applied to the determination of the five levels of the vigilance of a subject during the EEG recording; awake stage, drowsy stage and sleeping stages (stage 1, stage 2/3, REM (rapid eye movement)). The method for determining the vigilance level can be directly usable for the two purposes; selection of awake EEG segments for automatic EEG interpretation, and determination of sleep stages through sleep EEG. The proposed multi-valued decision making with a mathematical background of the probability can be applicable widely, in industries and in medical fields for purposes of the multi-valued decision making.

  • In this article, we investigate the transitivity and chain transitivity on multi-valued dynamical systems. For compact-valued continuous dynamics, we prove that the notion of transitivity is expressed by the notions of the shadowing property and chain transitivity under locally maximal condition.

  • Recently, Kazmi and Khan [7] introduced a kind of equilibrium problem called generalized system (GS) with a single-valued bi-operator F. Next, in [10], the first author considered a generalization of (GS) into a multi-valued circumstance called the multi-valued quasi-generalized system (in short, MQGS). In the current work, we provide an extension of (MQGS) into a system of (MQGS) in general settings. This system is called the generalized multi-valued quasi-generalized system (in short, GMQGS). Using the existence theorem for abstract economy by Kim [8], we prove the existence of solutions for (GMQGS) in the framework of Hausdorff topological vector spaces. As an application, an existence result of a system of generalized vector quasi-variational inequalities is derived.

  • Based on the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy hybrid geometric (IIFHG) operator and the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy weighted geometric (IIFWG) operator, we investigate the group decision making problems in which all the information provided by the decision-makers is presented as interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy decision matrices where each of the elements is characterized by interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, and the information about attribute weights is partially known. A numerical example is used to illustrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

  • Recently, Kazmi and Khan [7] introduced a kind of equilibrium problem called generalized system (GS) with a single-valued bi-operator F. In this note, we aim at an extension of (GS) due to Kazmi and Khan [7] into a multi-valued circumstance. We consider a fairly general problem called the multi-valued quasi-generalized system (in short, MQGS). Based on the existence of 1-person game by Ding, Kim and Tan [5], we give a generalization of (GS) in the name of (MQGS) within the framework of Hausdorff topological vector spaces. As an application, we derive an existence result of the generalized vector quasi-variational inequality problem. This result leads to a multi-valued vector quasi-variational inequality extension of the strong vector variational inequality (SVVI) due to Fang and Huang [6] in a general Hausdorff topological vector space.

  • In this paper, the input-output interconnection method of the multi-valued signal processing circuit using perfect Shuffle technique and Kronecker product is discussed. Using this method, the design method of circuit of the multi-valued Reed-Muller expansions(MRME) to be used the multi-valued signal processing on finite field GF(p**m) is presented. The proposed input-output interconnection method is shown that the matrix transform is efficient and that the module structure is easy. The circuit design of MRME on FG(p**m) is realized following as` 1) contructing the baisc gates on GF(3) by CMOS T gate, 2) designing the basic cells to be implemented the transform and inverse transform matrix of MRME using these basic gates, 3) interconnecting these cells by the input-output interconnecting method of the multivalued signal processing circuits. Also, the circuit design of the multi-valued signal processing function on GF(3\ulcorner similar to Winograd algorithm of 3x3 array of DFT (discrete fourier transform) is realized by interconnection of Perfect Shuffle technique and Kronecker product. The presented multi-valued signal processing circuits that are simple and regular for wire routing and posses the properties of concurrency and modularity are suitable for VLSI.

  • This paper develops a new theory of multi-valued switching functions and presents simplification method of the multi-valued combinational circuits for realizing N-valued arithmetic units. Multi-valued adders based on the theory proposed here is presented. Switching funtions to composite 10-valued arithmetic units with BCD input are described which is taken into account of using together with 2-valued logic systems.

  • This paper describes a high speed interface circuit using redundant multi-valued logic for high speed communication ICs. This circuit is composed of encoding circuit that serial binary data are received and converted into parallel redundant multi-valued data, and decoding circuit that converts redundant multi-valued data to parallel binary data. Because of the multi-valued data conversion, this circuit makes it possible to achieve higher operating speeds than that of a conventional binary logic. Using this logic, the proposed 1:4 DEMUX (demultiplexer, serial-parallel converter), was designed using a 0.35um standard CMOS technology. Proposed DEMUX is achieved an operating speed of 4.5Gb/s with a supply voltage of 3.3V and with power consumption of 53mW. The operating speed of this circuit is limited by the maximum frequency which the 0.35um process has. Therefore, this circuit is to achieve CMOS communication ICs with an operating speed greater than 10Gb/s in submicron process of high operating frequency.
