Recently, investigation on metallization is a key for a stretchable display. Amorphous metal such as Ni and Zr based amorphous metal compounds are introduced for a suitable material with superelastic property under certain stress condition. However, Ni and Zr based amorphous metals have too high resistivity for a display device's interconnectors. In addition, these metals are not suitable for display process chemicals. Therefore, we choose an aluminum based amprhous metal Al-Mo as a interconnector of stretchable display. In this paper, Amorphous Forming Composition Range (AFCR) for Al-Mo alloys are calculated by Midema's model, which is between 0.1 and 0.25 molybdenum, as confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The elongation tests revealed that amorphous Al-20Mo alloy thin films exhibit superior stretchability compared to pure Al thin films, with significantly less increase in resistivity at a 10% strain. This excellent resistance to hillock formation in the Al20Mo alloy is attributed to the recessed diffusion of aluminum atoms in the amorphous phase, rather than in the crystalline phase, as well as stress distribution and relaxation in the aluminum alloy. Furthermore, according to the AES depth profile analysis, the amorphous Al-Mo alloys are completely compatible with existing etching processes. The alloys exhibit fast etch rates, with a reasonable oxide layer thickness of 10 nm, and there is no diffusion of oxides in the matrix. This compatibility with existing etching processes is an important advantage for the industrial production of stretchable displays.
Direct alcohol fuel cells (DAFCs) have gained much attention as promising energy conversion devices due to their ability to utilize alcohol as a fuel source. In this regard, Molybdenum-based electrocatalysts (Mo-ECs) have emerged as a substitution for expensive Pt and Ru-based co-catalyst electrode materials in DAFCs, owing to their unique electrochemical properties useful for alcohol oxidation. The catalytic activity of Mo-ECs displays an increase in alcohol oxidation current density by several folds to 1000-2000 mA mgPt-1, compared to commercial Pt and PtRu catalysts of 10-100 mA mgPt-1. In addition, the methanol oxidation peak and onset potential have been significantly reduced by 100-200 mV and 0.5-0.6 V, respectively. The performance of Mo-ECs in both acidic and alkaline media has shown the potential to significantly reduce the Pt loading. This review aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the bifunctional mechanism involved in the oxidation of alcohols and factors affecting the electrocatalytic oxidation of alcohol, such as synthesis method, structural properties, and catalytic support materials. Furthermore, the challenges and prospects of Mo-ECs for DAFCs anode materials are discussed. This in-depth review serves as valuable insight toward enhancing the performance and efficiency of DAFC by employing Mo-ECs.
It is interesting to discover the reaction kinetics of the newly developed molybdenum containing catalysts. The dissociation/adsorption of nitrogen on molybdenum surface is known to be structure sensitive, which is similar to that of nitrogen on iron surface. The rates over molybdenum nitride catalysts are increased with the increase of total pressure. This tendency is the same as that for iron catalyst, but is quite different from that for ruthenium catalyst. The activation energies of the molybdenum nitride catalysts are almost on the same level, although the activity is changed by the addition of the second component. The reaction rate is expressed as a function of the concentration of reactants and products. The surface nature of $CO_3Mo_3N$ is drastically changed by the addition of alkali, changing the main adsorbed species from $NH_2$ to NH on the surface. The strength of $NH_x$ adsorption is found to be changed by alkali dopping.
The process of reusing the treated water generated during this process and that of recovery of molybdenum from the excessive water were studied. The results were as follows. The followings were the results of recollectings Mo. in processing water respectively generated after dissolving Mo. to produce complete goods df FL/20 type filament. 1) the percentage of recollecting Mo. in the 1st solving water was $93.0\%$ 2) the percentage of recollecting Mo. in the 2nd solving water was $94.5\%$ 3) the percentage of recollecting Mo. in the 3rd solving water was $95.5\%$ 4) the percentage of recollecting Mo. in the 4th solving water was $96.0\%$ 5) the percentage of recollecting Mo. in the 5th solving water was $96.2\%$ 6) the percentage of recollecting Mo. in the 6th solving water was $96.4\%$ 3. The followings were the results of analyzing, with ICP, holding quantities of Mo. in the 6 processing waters to produce FL/20 type filament after passing a 3 staged solid-liquid separator through, dehydrating and drying for more than 3 hours in a dryer to recollect solving Mo. in them 1) the Mo. holding percentage in the 1st solving water was $76.6\%$ 2) the Mo. holding percentage in the 2nd solving water was $76.6\%$ 3) the Mo. holding percentage in the 3rd solving water was $76.6\%$ 4) the Mo. holding percentage in the 4th solving water was $76.6\%$ 5) the Mo. holding percentage in the 5th solving water was $76.6\%$ 6) the Mo. holding percentage in the 6th solving water was $76.6\%$ It was noted that with the number of times the recollecting Mo. percentage become higher, and in spite of much recollecting, without any large effect on the goods the solving water could be reused as the processing water. Because the collected Mo. holding percentages were more than $76\%$, it is considered they are very good one than Chinese Mo. ores with $50\%$ degrees of purity, worthy of recollecting Mo.
In the case of a severe accident in a Light Water Reactor, the issue of late release of fission products, from the primary circuit surfaces is of particular concern due to the direct impact on the source term. CsI is the main iodine compound present in the primary circuit and can be deposited as particles or condensed species. Its chemistry can be affected by the presence of molybdenum, and can lead to the formation of gaseous iodine. The present work studied chemical reactions on the surfaces involving gaseous iodine release. CsI and MoO3 were used to highlight the effects of carrier gas composition and oxygen partial pressure on the reactions. The results revealed a noticeable effect of the presence of molybdenum on the formation of gaseous iodine, mainly identified as molecular iodine. In addition, the oxygen partial pressure prevailing in the studied conditions was an influential parameter in the reaction.
Two dimensional layered materials, such as transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) family have been attracted significant attention due to novel physical and chemical properties. Among them, molybdenum disulfide ($MoS_2$) has novel physical phenomena such as absence of dangling bonds, lack of inversion symmetry, valley degrees of freedom. Previous studies have shown that the interface of metal/$MoS_2$ contacts significantly affects device performance due to presence of a scalable Schottky barrier height at their interface, resulting voltage drops and restricting carrier injection. In this study, we report a new device structure by using few-layer graphene as the bottom interconnections, in order to offer Schottky barrier free contact to bi-layer $MoS_2$. The fabrication of process start with mechanically exfoliates bulk graphite that served as the source/drain electrodes. The semiconducting $MoS_2$ flake was deposited onto a $SiO_2$ (280 nm-thick)/Si substrate in which graphene electrodes were pre-deposited. To evaluate the barrier height of contact, we employed thermionic-emission theory to describe our experimental findings. We demonstrate that, the Schottky barrier height dramatically decreases from 300 to 0 meV as function of gate voltages, and further becomes negative values. Our findings suggested that, few-layer graphene could be able to realize ohmic contact and to provide new opportunities in ohmic formations.
It was studied to prepare high temperature heating elements using molybdenum disilicide($MoSi_2$). Molybdenum disilicide is widely used as material for manufacturing high temperature heating elements. $MoSi_2$ heating elements could be used at 1700-1900$^{\circ}C$. However, it is relatively expensive, and its demand depends on import. $MoSi_2$ powders was mixed with 4-5wt% of montmorillonites type bentonite as plasticizer and a small amount of $Si_3N_4$, $ThO_2$, and B as additives to prepare specimen of heating elements. Then, it was extruded, dried, sintered and machined followed by heating test. Effects of sintering conditions and amount of additives were investigated, It was sintered effectively at 1,350$^{\circ}C$ for five hours. Electrical resistivity was decreased with increasing of sintering temperature and time, and related with apparent density of the specimens. It was linealy decreased with increasing of sintered density. The heating elements thus prepared was stable at 1700$^{\circ}C$ and the physical properties such as specific electrical resistivity, hardness, apparent density, thermal expansion coefficient, and bending strength were almost identical with those of commercial heating elements.
Pure and Mo-doped ZnO hollow nanofibers were prepared by single capillary electrospinning and their gas sensing characteristics toward 5 ppm ethanol, trimethylamine (TMA), CO and $H_2$ were investigated. The gas responses and responding kinetics were dependent upon sensing temperature and Mo doping. Mo-doped ZnO hollow nanofibers showed high response to 5 ppm TMA ($R_a/R_g=111.7$, $R_a$: resistance in air, $R_g$: resistance in gas) at $400^{\circ}C$, while the responses of pure ZnO hollow nanofibers was low ($R_a/R_g=47.1$). In addition, the doping of Mo enhanced selectivity toward TMA. The enhancement of gas response and selectivity to TMA by Mo doping to ZnO nanofibers was discussed in relation to the interaction between basic analyte gas and acidic additive materials.
This study aims to examine the correlation between microstructures and the mechanical properties of two high-strength API X70 linepipe steels with different specimen directions and Moaddition. The microstructure of the Mo-added steel has an irregularly shaped AF, GB matrix with pearlite because of the relatively large deformation in the non-recrystallization temperature region, while that of the Mo-free steel shows a PF matrix with bainitic microstructure. In the Mo-added steel, the M/A (martensite-austenite) in granular bainite (GB) and pearlite act as crack initiation sites with decreased upper shelf energy and an increased ductile to brittle transition temperature (DBTT). Regardless of Mo addition, all of the steels demonstrate higher strength and lower elongation in the T direction than in the L direction because of the short dislocation glide path and ease of pile-up at grain boundaries. In addition, the impact test specimens with T-L direction had a lower impact absorbed energy and higher DBTT than those with the L-T direction because the former exhibit shorter unit crack path compared to the latter.
