Purpose: This study aimed to estimate the effects of a health mentoring program on fasting blood sugar, total cholesterol, triglyceride, physical activity, self care behavior and social support changes among community-dwelling vulnerable elderly individuals with diabetes. Methods: A non-equivalent control group pre-post-test design was used. Participants were 70 community-dwelling vulnerable elderly individuals with diabetes. They were assigned to the experimental (n=30) or comparative (n=30) or control group (n=28). The experimental group participated in the health mentoring program, while the comparative group participated in health education program, the control group did not participate in any program. Data analyses involved a chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, a generalized linear model, and the Bonferroni correction, using SPSS 23.0. Results: Compared to the control group, the experimental and comparative groups showed a significant decrease in fasting blood sugar, total cholesterol, and triglyceride. Compared to the comparative and control groups, the experimental group showed significant improvement in self care behavior. However, there were no statistical differences in physical activity or social support among the three groups. Conclusion: These findings indicate that the health mentoring program is an effective intervention for community-dwelling vulnerable elderly individuals with diabetes. This program can be used as an efficient strategy for diabetes self-management within this population.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of mentoring program using logic model in university students. We surveyed 40 mentors who participated mentoring program in 2014. Data collection were open-ended questions. Questions was made of with a steps in logic model and content analysis was carried out. The results are as follows: first, according to the step of the inputs, many students questioned said that public relations, selection process, matching, orientations, activity costs was proper. Secondly, in the activities, it was showed that mentor met firstly mentee with teacher in school and mentoring activities comprised 80% of studying and 20% of counseling and experiencing. third, in the outputs, most of participants expressed satisfaction in mentoring period, time, place. Lastly, in the outcomes, this program affected both mentor and mentee with cognitive, emotional and behavior development. Consequentially, this results have influence on improvement of following mentoring programs.

The purpose his study was a descriptive research study to identify the influencing factors of mentoring for nursing students, and was conducted with 120 nursing students. The collected data were subjected to real number and percentage, mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS/WIN 25.0. As a result of the study, mentoring was found to have a significant positive correlation with organizational socialization, core nursing competency, and clinical performance competency, and the explanatory power of the regression model was 64.1%. Since mentoring is an effective teaching method, based on this study, we propose a study to develop a structured mentoring program including organizational socialization, core nursing competency, and clinical performance competency to test the effectiveness. In addition, proposes a study to identify the relationship with various variables by dividing mentoring into sub-competencies of career development function, psychological stability function, and role model function.

As jobless growth became the new norm and the average life expectancy continues to increase, it is difficult to find quality jobs regardless of gender. In this situation, entrepreneurs who can take charge of creating quality jobs have begun to gain attention from governments. As a result, many startup support programs have been introduced and operated. In Korea, various government-sponsored startup support programs have been in operation since the late 2000s, and the number of startups has increased since. However, there are many cases where they are not able to maintain their business for a long time because such programs often lack expertise and experience. Mentoring programs for startup founders is becoming an attractive solution to these problems. However, when we look at the responses of entrepreneurs, they found the mentoring program beneficial only when it was well planned and operated. Otherwise, they found the program unhelpful. Although there are many startup mentoring programs in various fields, there is little research on whether customized mentoring that matches the characteristics of startups and entrepreneurs are effective. In this study, we study the effects of startup mentoring on mentoring satisfaction. Our model also intends to identify the moderating effects of entrepreneurs' characteristics and provide guidance to future startup mentoring.

The purpose of this study is to investigate pre-service science teachers' difficulties in the 'inquiry mentoring' program, which was developed to improve pre-service science teachers' inquiry teaching ability. For this study, I developed the 'inquiry mentoring' program in which pre-service science teachers taught high school students. This program was adapted for 2.5 months, and 45 pre-service science teachers participated and taught 44 high school students. During this program, pre-service science teachers kept 'mentor diaries' and wrote 'mentoring reports' at the end of the program. Interviews were conducted with all pre-service science teachers. Results are as follows: first, pre-service science teachers thought that the difficulties in inquiry mentoring resulted from their inadequacy (mentor factor) than students' inadequacy (mentee factor). Second, pre-service science teachers perceived their lack of cognitive ability, inquiry ability and teaching ability as a mentor factor. Third, pre-service science teachers thought that they had difficulties in students' differences and lack of activity as a mentee factor. Fourth, they described difficulties caused by emotional distance as well as physical distance as an interaction factor. They also mentioned the difficulties related to teaching range and online interaction. Fifth, pre-service science teachers expressed a sense of frustration with the inquiry environment. Additionally, some implications were discussed for pre-service science teacher education through the 'inquiry mentoring' program.
Purpose - Recently, entrepreneurship education has been revitalized with interest in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship education is an educational service activity that is provided for entrepreneurship and individual start-up success within a certain period of time. According to previous studies on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship, the satisfaction of entrepreneurship education affects entrepreneurship and as a result increases entrepreneurship. In recent years, the number of female entrepreneurs has also increased as the number of entrepreneurial issues has increased. Based on previous studies, this research proposed the theoretical framework about the structural relationships among mentoring quality (career development, psychological social, role modeling), education satisfaction, recommendation intention and entrepreneurial intention. This study is to find out the possibility of attempting to create a theoretical basis for entrepreneurial mentoring education in entrepreneurship education program. Research design, data, and methodology - In this model, mentoring quality consists of three sub-dimensions such as career development, psychological social, and role modeling. In order to test research model and hypotheses, the data were collected from 203 female college students who participated in entrepreneurial education. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equational modeling with SPSS 24.0 and SmartPLS 3.0 statistical program. Result - The results of the study are as follows. First, role modeling has a positive effect on recommendation intention and entrepreneurial intention. Second, career development has a strong negative effect on the entrepreneurial intention. Third, career development and role modeling had a positive effect on educational satisfaction, and educational satisfaction had positive influence on recommendation intention and entrepreneurial intention. Conclusions - As women's social advancement becomes more active, start-up support programs including entrepreneurship mentoring are increasing. The results of this study suggest how to use the mentoring program mix and how to allocate the resources for the education program when the entrepreneurial education manager plans and executes the mentoring education program. For example, this study shows that career development and role modeling enhance educational satisfaction, and in turn increase recommendation intention and entrepreneurial intention. This means that entrepreneurship education should consist of contents that include career development functions such as sponsorship, guidance, protection, and provision of challenging work. In addition, the findings of this study indicate that mentors should perform the function of allowing the participants to have confidence and professional thinking ability at the time of start up based on their experiences.

The mentoring program, conducted as part of an entrepreneurship education program by the Business Incubator, has been acknowledged to help entrepreneurs feel less anxious and fearful of embarking on new business endeavors and the possibility of failure and gain a positive view toward starting new businesses. For this reason, the investment into and the contents of the program have been reinforced. Accordingly, this study aims to examine the effects of mentoring functions on the improvement of the entrepreneurial mindset of young entrepreneurs and verify the moderating effect of the start-up preparation period between the mentoring functions and start-up competence as a means to analyze the interaction effect of the business start-up preparation period between the mentoring functions and entrepreneurship. For the purpose of this study, the SPSS 18.0 statistical program was used to perform validity, reliability and hierarchical factor analyses of the survey data obtained from 156 subjects, who took part in the entrepreneurship mentoring program. The results of the analyses showed that the mentoring functions had a positive impact on the progressiveness and risk-taking aspects of entrepreneurship and a negative impact on innovativeness. On the other hand, the business start-up preparation period had a significant moderating effect between the mentoring functions and the progressiveness and risk-taking aspects. Based on these results, it was deemed that while the mentoring functions efficiently improved the progressive and risk-taking characteristics of potential entrepreneurs, they were not efficient in improving their innovativeness. Also, the application of the entrepreneurship mentoring program according to the start-up preparation period had an interaction effect in which the progressiveness and risking-taking aspects of entrepreneurship were improved. Based on these findings, a proposal was made in regard to the development of a tailored mentoring program that reflects the various characteristics of the entrepreneurs and their start-up preparation periods as a means to improve their entrepreneurial mindset.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a mentoring program designed to assist nursing students adjust to life in college and strengthen their leadership abilities. The mentoring program consisted of nine sessions including information on basic mentorship functions, as well as the results of similar previous studies. This was a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pre-post test design in order to evaluate the results of this program. Mentoring and data collection were performed from March 3 to May 30, 2014. The experimental group participants included 20 mentee students (in grades 1 and 2), and 20 mentors (in grades 3 and 4). Both pre and post tests were administered before and after the mentoring program. The score for "adjust to life in college" was more significantly increased in the mentee student experimental group as compared with the control group. Similarly, the post test score for "leadership" was more significantly increased from the pre test score in the mentor student experimental group. However, no statistically significant differences were found for the post-pre test "leadership" score between the mentor student experimental group and the control group. These results suggested that mentoring had a significant effect on the ability of nursing students to adjust to life in college, as well as to strengthen their leadership abilities, and the program needs more developed contents for leadership.
The effects of mentoring education bring positive effects such as mentees' capacity building, knowledge improvement and positive attitude. The major difficulties that nursing college students experience in clinical practice are low adaptability, lack of confidence, etc. Therefore, this study developed mentoring education program to improve the problem-solving ability, learning attitude, and confidence in nursing skill before clinical practice for nursing college students and evaluated their effectiveness. In order to develop the program, a group of experts consisting of professors and clinical nurses selected 11 topics after discussing nursing skills and knowledge, which were most required in clinical practice. The program involved 14 mentors who operated practice, counseling, video clips, and contextual discussions for two days to a group of 9 to 10 people. Nursing college students who received the mentoring education program showed a significant increase in learning attitude and confidence in performance of nursing skills, but there was no statistically significant difference in problem-solving ability. This study is meaningful in that it has improved the educational effect by using mentoring methods, away from formal in-school practice education. In the future, it will be necessary to evaluate whether the mentoring education program affect the problem-solving ability of nursing students by applying it before, during, and after clinical practice rather than in a short period.

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences and meaning of nursing students participating in a multicultural children mentoring program and to find out how mentoring activities can contribute to the cultural competence of future nurses. This study was based on a qualitative research design through reflective journals and in-depth interviews. From March 20 to June 30, 2016, we collected data from 10 nursing students who participated in a mentoring program for multicultural children. The research question was what was the experience of nursing students participating in multicultural children mentoring? Reflective journals were created individually before participating in mentoring activities and after 10 mentoring activities. In-depth interviews were conducted with three participants to clarify the meaning of their reflective journal and identify the implications of additional mentoring activity experiences after the completion of the mentoring activities. The results were obtained for 3 central themes; Breaking the prejudice against cultural diversity, Understanding the reality of multicultural children, and Acquiring experience for the sake of growth. The results of this study can be used as the basic data for the development of a nursing education program for the purpose of enhancing the cultural competence of nursing students.
