  • Test data for a naval vessel is massive, expensive and impossible to be retested in a underwater acoustic measurement on the same condition. So, it is very important. In this paper, I mention massive underwater acoustic multimedia database system that was developed to store a long time, manage systematically, supply raw data and analyze data to user in 2-tier structure. Also, I propose 3-tier structure to extend the current database system that can supply multimedia data.

  • In this paper, we investigate some measures as tests of multivariate normality based on principal components. The idea was proposed by Srivastava and Hui(1987). They generalized Shapiro-Wilk statistic for multi variate cases. We show the null distributions of the statistics do not depend on the unknown parameters and mention the asymptotic null distributions. Also power performance of the tests are assessed in a Monte Carlo study.

  • Growing information threats have threatened organization to lose information security controls in these days. Many organizations have accepted the various information security management systems does mention necessity of a continuous evaluation process for the executions of information security management in a theoretical aspect. This study suggests a continuous evaluation process for information security management reflecting the real execution of managers and employees in organizations.

  • Circular variables are those that have a period in its range. Their examples include direction of animal migration, and time of drug administration, just to mention a few. Statistical analysis of circular variables is quite different from that of linear variable due to its periodic nature. In this paper, the author proposes new circular regression models using geodesic lines on the surface of the sample space of the response and the predictor variables.

  • Two 2-phenoxychromones; a rare group of natural products, were isolated from the combined ethylacetate and chloroform fractions of the ethanolic extract of Ononis serrata frossk (Leguminosae) growing in Egypt. Structures were elucidated by chemical, spectroscopic methods as well as single X-ray diffraction analyses. The cytotoxic and antimicrobial effects of the two compounds were examined. It is worth to mention that this is the first report on the isolation of 2-phenoxychromones from the family Leguminosae.

  • What benefit items from railroad investment are evaluated, and how those items are quantified have profound impacts on the feasibility of the proposed investments. They also have implications on the projects priorities, not to mention on intermodal comparison between highway and railroad. Evaluation procedures currently being utilized in Korea show limits in fully evaluating railroads' investment impacts. Economic and practical implications are evaluated for including revenues for railroad investment. Based on the critical evaluation of procedures in other countries, and based on the analysis of Korea's national transportation goals, new and improved benefit items are redefined and quantification guidelines are proposed.

  • Triggered star formation is not a new idea - it's been around for at least the last 30 years. Although it has never disappeared from the scene, it seems to be enjoying something of a renaissance in recent years, in both observational and theoretical studies. Here we give a brief discussion of the background of triggered star formation, describe some of our own recent observational efforts in this regard, and briefly mention some initial conclusions that may be drawn.

  • For convex bodies, chord power integrals were introduced and studied in several papers (see [3], [6], [14], [15], etc.). The aim of this article is to study them further, that is, we establish the Brunn-Minkowski-type inequalities and get the upper bound for chord power integrals of convex bodies. Finally, we get the famous Zhang projection inequality as a corollary. Here, it is deserved to mention that we make use of a completely distinct method, that is using the theory of inclusion measure, to establish the inequality.

  • When we apply parametric models to the movement of stock prices, we don't know whether they are really correct specifications. In the paper, any prior conditional mean structure is not assumed. By applying the nonparametric model, we see if it better performs (than the random walk model) in terms of out-of-sample prediction. An interesting finding is that the random walk model is still the best. There doesn't seem to exist any form of nonlinearity (not to mention linearity) in stock prices that can be exploitable in terms of point prediction.

  • Blocking artefact noise is necessarily happened in compressed images using block-coded algorithms such as JPEC compressing algorithm. This noise is more recognizable especially in highly compressed images. In this paper, an algorithm is presented for reduction of blocking artefact noise using block division. Furthermore, we also mention about the median filter which is often used in image processing.
