A Form-based Workflow Management System Using XML (XML을 이용한 폼 기반 워크플로우 관리 시스템)

  • Systematic management of data related to business process, and information exchange within existing information systems or between different companies have recently become an important issue. This paper tries to solve such problems by using form based workflow system using XML(extensible Markup Language), a standard for digital document exchange. In this system, a new model that formalizes documents into XML form documents and manages them is developed. By defining and operating form documents by XML, information exchange within existing information systems such as ERP and SCM or between different companies, and interoperability between different WFMS can be easily achieved. In addition, by matching form, a formalized document, with existing database schema, WFMS can be directly applied to existing information system, thus enabling continuity of data management and business activity.

  • In the construction industry, IT based information system has been diversely applied to increase productivity. Although IT device such as PDA, RFID, Barcode, wireless network and web camera has been introduced to gather information in construction site, the effect of the IT device is limited, because of bringing about additional works of engineer. In this paper, we proposed a defect management system which is based on handwritten document digitalization framework for introducing applicability of new IT device, digital pen. By the proposed system, we can effectively gather and input defect information to defect management system by using digital pen and paper like conventional way. Applying the data gathering device, digital pen to defect management, it is able to increase productivity by improving work process, building up and utilizing defect information database of good quality.

  • In recent years, Internet/Intranet represents the next generation of computing environment. Therefore, it is necessary to integrate WWW((World Wide Web) over internet/intranet and DBMS(Database Management System) in proportion to the increase of various users' request and an amount of data variety. Also, also full variety of service over WWW need to accomplish rapidly modification of bug and make a betterment of system according to a feature of rapid change of information and an importance of interaction with users. The typical CGI method commonly used to connect with database has a disadvantage in time and resources in system due to frequent connection with database. Therefore, this paper provides the conceptual structure and implementation of information management system over WWW with applying a recent information technology called ASP(Active Server Pages) that controls and arranges client logic dynamically in server-side and introducing a concept of working group and folder to database design.

  • The cost of procurement in construction projects varies depending on the type of project, but the proportion of the cost component is very large. Therefore, efficient procurement system operation affects the success of the project. However, difficulties arise in procurement management due to problems such as availability of data due to limited information, inaccurate scheduling and integration of costs. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop a procurement management system to help efficient communication decision by combining Big Data which can analyze a lot of information and Block Chain technology which can secure information and record reliability to satisfy the above requirements. The results of this study are used to develop a system to develop academically improved procurement management system and practically to develop a system to secure business competitiveness and to facilitate rapid communication among project participants.

Time Management System for Applications of UAV Network

  • This paper proposes time management system for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) network. The computers of the UAVs need time synchronization that time offset does not exceed the minimum interval of data samples for errorless data blending between the computers. The proposed time management system is composed of time synchronization and general management systems for UAV control. The systems communicate each other for time information and control signals. The synchronization system uses improved version of existing time offset estimation that network time protocol (NTP) uses. The time synchronization is operated when the time offset of any UAV exceeds threshold that preconfigured by the general management system. The demonstration of prototype shows stable time synchronization satisfying preconfigured threshold.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a standardization model for available stock management process among the entire Enterprise Resource Planning System modules of Automobile Parts Manufacturing Industry. The standardization model system is constructed through the phased method based on the development methodology of information establishment suggested by the Small and Medium Business Administration and Korea Technology and Information Promotion Agency for Small & Medium Enterprises. The standardization model is to develop the process modules of ordering management, storing management, delivering management, and stock management for available stock management process. The study will help the manufacturing business and related IT business which want to construct available stock management process under the ERP system to establish the system more effectively by applying the standardization model and also will provide them with construction availability and reliability. By application of this study results, the businesses will not only prevent the excessive possession of raw materials and products and reserve adequate and steady stock but also will check real-time stock, observe customer due date, decrease over-production and reduce stock cost.

  • ISO 9001 International Quality Management System is international standard for develop a quality management system of organization. More efficient quality management supports a good environment for customer satisfaction to product and service that anytime. So, Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) was certificated ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System in 2003 up to now. That is the first time on information flow and service for science and technology. For more efficient quality management, KISTI built a KQMS online system based on web. We obtain a improvement of customer satisfaction and efficiency of work, reduction of work processing time using KQMS.

  • Purpose This study is based on previous studies related to the function and operating system of the project management system for efficient project management. The purpose of the study is, first, to find out how the project performance is affected by the utilization of the project management system and the involvement of the PMO. Second, the mediating effect of implementing integrated management between the project management system and project performance is to be demonstrated. Design/methodology/approach Based on previous studies related to project management, this study designed a research model by integrating functional factors derived from project management system design studies, integrated management factors, and factors derived from PMO function studies. Findings As a result of the empirical analysis, this study first confirmed that high utilization of the project management system and high involvement of the PMO are factors that affect project performance. In addition, it was confirmed that the establishment of the system and the introduction of PMO do not guarantee project performance. Second, it was confirmed that the execution of integrated management has a mediating effect between the system and the project performance, and that the high utilization of the system has a positive effect on the mediating effect.
