Superconductor is weak in AC condition. Bifilar geometry provides a solution to reduce AC loss. Bifialr geometry is piled up or wound with more than two layers. When a layer of superconductor abuts on other layers, AC loss is affected by not only self-field, but also magnetic field induced by adjacent layers. In this study, two superconductors are piled up as a series connection so that current flows in different directions. By this method, magnetic field is cancelled. If magnetic field is cancelled, AC loss is reduced. To compare AC loss with respect to piling method, we measured the AC loss difference between the case facing each other with substrate side and the case facing with YBCO side. Measured AC loss is compared with one-way current flow single layer AC loss. In addition, we analyzed how much AC loss was increased, or reduced. All results were compared with those calculated with Norris equation. By this experiment, we concluded that distance between two wires is the important cause of AC loss. The distance between two wires affects magnetic field reduction in YBCO and induced current flow on substrate side.
The hydroelectric Power plant of the KOWACO have been establishing and operating a full scale electric power facility, doing the largest generation during the flood period of the summer season. When the huge capacity generator is run like the Chung-Ju's hydroelectric Power plant, the generator current per generator flows a great current estimated at 5,900 A. The bus bar of a great current flows in cubicle, owing to the bus bar current Eddy current is created around magnetic substance and a local heating phenomenon occurs due to Joule heat finally. a local heating phenomenon still exists the danger of safety accident due to contact and accompanies losses enough to healing capacity inevitably. this study applies and examines related theory and numerical formula about the heating cause of a great current & enforces technical verification about the method of heating reduction previous managed at the site.

The characteristics of flows, temperatures, concentrations of the boron are numerically studied when uniform axial magnetic fields are applied in the Czechralski crucible. The to governing factors to the flow regimes are buoyancy, thermocapillarity, centrifugal forces, magnetic forces, diffusion coefficient and segregation coefficient of the boron. Since the concentration of the boron is so low that buoyancy effects are negligible, it cannot affect the flow and temperature fields. From the fact that the flow fields are rotationally symmetric, two velocity components in the meridional plane and the circumferential velocity are calculated together with the temperature in the steady state. Based on the known velocity and temperature distributions the unsteady concentration distributions of the boron are calculated. As the strength of the magnetic is increased, the flow velocities are decreased. Circumferential velocities are large near the crucible side-wall and in the region below the rotating crystal. Steep temperatures gradient near the edge of the rotating crystal causes the Marangoni convection. It has been found out that the convection characteristics affects the unsteady transport phenomena of the boron.
In order to develop the commercial frequency (60Hz) plasma torch of small capacity for material cutting, welding and other industrial heating, the A.C plasma jet generator of non-transfered type is made domestically and the electrode configurations of plasma torch are composed of two kinds of electrodes W-C and W-Cu, combined by thermal emission and field emission electrode materials. In this paper, the characteristics of input power, thermal efficiency, electrode consumption, the flame and forms of arc voltage and arc current for A.C plasma torch are investigated in relation to such variables as arc current, argon flow and magnetic field intensity to obtain the basic design data necessary to A.C plasma jet generator. The result are as follows; (1)The input power, thermal efficiency and electrode consumption are influenced greatly by argon flow, magnetic field intensity and nozzle materials. (2)A.C arc voltage and current are non-symmetrial, involving D.C Component. Due to this current of D.C Component, transformer core is saturated and a large abnormal current flows into the primary winding coil. In order to prevent this abnormal current flow, a condenser must be connected in series to the main discharge circuit. (3)The stability and sharpness of jet flame are improved more in the torch of W-C electrode configuration than in the torch of W-Cu electrode configuration.
Undesirable convective flow in an NMR tube inhibits the accurate measurement of diffusion coefficients by NMR spectroscopy. To minimize the convection effects, various methods have been suggested, and it has been known that the use of sample rotation can be useful. However, it has not been clearly examined that the convection suppressing effect of the sample rotation under the different spinning speeds. In this study, the relation between convective flow and the sample rotation was investigated using PGSE NMR diffusion experiments to reveal the feasibility for controlling the convective flow in an NMR tube by sample rotation itself. The viscosity effect was also examined using solvents with four different viscosities, acetone-$d_6$ chloroform-d, pyridine-$d_5$, and $D_2O$. The sample rotation showed apparent convection suppressing effects at all temperature range for the low viscosity solvents, acetone-$d_6$ and chloroform-d, even at the faster than 5 Hz spinning rate. The similar patterns were also observed for pyridine-$d_5$ and $D_2O$, which have higher viscosity. This effect was observed even at high temperatures where convective flow arises conspicuously.
The surveyed Boseong river, flows from south to north crossing Boseong gun Mirukg myon, Nodong myon, Yuleo myon, Bocgnae myon, Mundeog myon, and Seungju gun Nam myon, Jeonranam do. The geology of the surveyed area consists of age-unknown composite gneiss and schist, crystaline chlorite gneiss, porphyroblastic gneiss and granite gneiss, and metasediments of Myon Bong formation and Seologri formation. These metamorphic rocks are intruded by cretaceous biotite granite, granodiorite, and quartz diorite. The heavy sands occur in Quarternary alluvium and colluvium. The composition of the river bed is sand 60%, gravel 30%, and clay 10%. The gravel content of the river bed decreases as the increases. The average depth of auger boring is 0.87 m. The average heavy mineral composition of the heavy sand is monazite 6.83%, zircon 4.88%, ilmenite 11.36%, magnetite 8.36% and garnet 4.84%. The best heavy minerals separation procedure would be primary treatment of the sand by humphrey spiral and table, and retreatment of the table concentrate by magnetic separator. The minimum economically feasible capacity of gravity and magnetic separation plant would be 500 ton/hr when only the heavy minerals are recovered but it may be reduced to 100 ton/hr. capacity, if gravels and sands are added to the valuable products.

This study evaluated a digital locking device design using detection distance of 13.4mm of a human body sensing type magnetic field coil. In contrast to digital locking devices that are used nowadays, the existing serial number entering buttons, lighting, number cover, corresponding pcb, exterior case, and data delivery cables have been deleted and are only composed of control ON/OFF power switches and emergency terminals. When the magnetic field coil substrates installed inside the inner case detects the electric resistance delivered from the opposite side of the 12mm interval exterior contacting the glass body part, the corresponding induced current flows. At this time, the magnetic field coil takes the role as a sensor when coil frequency of the circular coil is transformed. The magnetic coil as a sensor detects a change in the oscillation frequency output before and after the body is detected. This is then amplified to larger than 2,000%, transformed into digital signals, and delivered to exclusive software to compare and search for embedded data. The detection time followed by the touch area of the body standard to a $12.8{\emptyset}$ magnetic field coil was 30% contrast at 0.08sec and 80% contrast at 0.03sec, in which the detection distance was 13.4mm, showing the best level.
Cancer is one of the most challenging human diseases. Current clinical methods have limitations for early-stage cancer diagnosis and effective therapy. Moreover, current surgical methods to remove tumors are not precise enough and chemotherapy destroys normal tissues as well as malignant tumors, resulting in severe side effects such as hair loss, vomiting, diarrhea, and blood disorders. Recently, nanotechnology using nano-sized particles suggests advanced solutions to overcome the limitations. Various nanoparticles have been reported for more accurate diagnosis and minimized side effects. However, current nanoparticles still show limited targeting accuracy for cancer generally below 5% injection dosage. Therefore, herein we report a new nanoparticle inducing device(NID) to guide the nanoparticles externally by using both variable magnetic fields and blood flows. NID can be a promising approach to improve targeting accuracy for drug delivery using iron oxide nanoparticles.
We discuss diffusion of particles in turbulent flows. In hydrodynamic turbulence, it is well known that distance between two particles imbedded in a turbulent flow exhibits a random walk behavior. The corresponding diffusion coefficient is ${\~}$${\upsilon}_{inj}{\iota}_{turb}$, where ${\upsilon}_{inj}$ is the amplitude of the turbulent velocity and ${\iota}_{turb}$ is the scale of the turbulent motions. It Is not clear whether or not we can use a similar expression for magnetohydrodynamic turbulence. However, numerical simulations show that mixing motions perpendicular to the local magnetic field are, up to high degree, hydrodynamical. This suggests that turbulent heat transport in magnetized turbulent fluid should be similar to that in non-magnetized one, which should have a diffusion coefficient ${\upsilon}_{inj}{\iota}_{turb}$. We review numerical simulations that support this conclusion. The application of this idea to thermal conductivity in clusters of galaxies shows that this mechanism may dominate the diffusion of heat and may be efficient enough to prevent cooling flow formation when turbulence is vigorous.
We investigate the critical issue on how the BBF (bursty bulk flow) is related to the substorm current wedge formation. Observationally, after analysing data sets from Geotail spacecraft at near tail and many ground magnetic observatories for 9 months period of 1996, we find three BBF events that clearly occurred at the center of the wedge with region I type FAC (field-aligned current), and two other BBF events that were seen outside the wedge sector. Theoretically, we suggest that the substorm current wedge generation by BBF is most likely when the h' VB contribution is dominant in the well-known MHD $J_{II}$ expression (Vasyliunaus, 1984) or when the divergence of the cross-tail current carried by the particle's gradient/curvature drift is predominantly sufficient at the moment of the BBF arrival at near tail.
